Embarking on a journey to Wichita with our beloved pets was more than just a vacation; it was a tail-wagging adventure filled with pet-friendly delights. From vibrant neighborhoods to welcoming pet-friendly hotels in Wichita, Kansas, this city is a haven for four-legged companions.
This time we mainly stick to the downtown area and East Wichita, giving us a different experience of the city. While downtown Wichita is more upbeat with more tourist places to visit, like the Museum of Treasures, East Wichita is more lowkey and tame. That said, we had an equally enjoyable time staying in both areas. Plenty of parks and pet shops make our vacation a breeze. Not to mention the pet-friendly hotels here are just sublime. They never made us comfortable while traveling with our four-pawed best friends.

Courtyard by Marriott Wichita at Old Town
11
We kick off our recommendations with the iconic tourist destination in Wichita—Old Town. Our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Wichita at Old Town proved to be quite satisfying. The hotel, situated in a historic building, offers an immersive experience of Wichita. As a globally recognized hotel, we anticipated nothing short of excellence, and indeed, excellence is what we received.
When we arrived at the check-in, the staff was so nice and friendly to our cat. They informed us about the hotel’s policy allowing a maximum of two pets per room, and dogs were also welcome. Although there was a pet fee of $50 per pet per night, it was worth it, given the hotel’s prime location. We found ourselves in the heart of Wichita’s bustling tourist area, surrounded by numerous pet-friendly bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, enhancing our overall experience.
Moreover, our guestroom was outstanding—spacious, with ample sunlight streaming in through the windows for our cat to bask and indulge in her diva moments. The added conveniences of a fitness center and an on-site ATM were appreciated bonuses for us humans.

WaterWalk Wichita Downtown won us over with its unmatched convenience, thanks to its prime location in Downtown Wichita and its aparthotel-style accommodations. Opting for a one-bedroom guestroom, our stay, along with our cat and dog, was incredibly comfortable. The modern decor, fully equipped kitchen, and cozy sitting area with cable TV made our room a delightful retreat.
While there was an additional pet fee of $125 per stay and a weight limit of 50 lbs per pet in each guestroom (75 lbs for a single pet), the expense proved worthwhile. The hotel offered valuable pet amenities, including treats and a designated grassy area for our pets. Moreover, its strategic location allowed us easy access to Wichita’s top attractions, with Riverfront Stadium just across the street and Central Riverside Park a short stroll away. WaterWalk Wichita Downtown truly provided the perfect blend of convenience and pet-friendly perks.

Conveniently located near the airport, the SpringHill Suite by Marriot Wichita Airport was another pet-friendly hotel that we stayed at. As expected of any SpringHill Suites, the services we got here were exemplary, especially for pets. The hotel allows a maximum of two pets of any size per room with a fee of $25 per pet/night.
Furthermore, the staff welcomed our pet dog with friendly scratches and some treats. Our guestroom, a pleasant surprise, was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with amenities like a microwave, minibar, and toiletries. Pet bowls and dog beds were not provided, so remember to pack your own or check out the best travel dog beds on Etsy.
While we couldn’t leave our pup unattended, we took turns enjoying the hotel’s indoor pool and fitness center. That said, the hotel does have an outdoor sitting area where we would hang out with our dog when the weather’s nice. There’s also a grassy area to take our dog to potty, but we mostly drive to the nearby Pawnee Prairie Park to take him for a walk.

Our experience staying at Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, Wichita East, was one of our favorite ones. We mainly stayed here to be closer to the McConnel Air Force Base, but since the I-35 is also nearby, we could easily get to downtown Wichita. Another reason we picked the hotel was for its fantastic pet services. When we got here, we first noticed other guests who also stayed with their pets and how they seemed to be enjoying their stay.
Additionally, when we checked in, we were doubly delighted when the pet fee was only $25 per pet/night. The hotel also has no pet size or breed restrictions, so our chubby golden retriever had no problem staying here. Furthermore, our suite had ample space with a separate sitting area. That way, our four-pawed friend doesn’t feel too cramped. The hotel also has a spacious outdoor area for our dog to stretch his legs and even a veranda with a fire pit for us to enjoy easy afternoons. Moreover, when we’re not spending our days heading to downtown Wichita, we often spend them taking our dog to W.B Harrison Park, which is only 5 minutes away.

Best Value for Money. Ideally located near Greenwich Plaza, our stay at La Quinta by Wyndham Wichita Northeast was highlighted by the comfort of being near the mall. We could easily shop around, and there were plenty of chain restaurants near our hotel.
That said, location aside, the hotel’s hospitality was the reason why we included this hotel on our list. For starters, the staff welcomed our dogs with warm smiles. And most importantly, the hotel offered reasonable pet fees. We were only charged $25 per pet/night, with no size restriction, and a maximum of 2 dogs per room. Additionally, the friendly staff got us a guestroom on the 1st floor, allowing us the convenience of easy exits. As for the room, ours was pretty standard, with ample amenities and a sofa bed, which our dogs loved.
Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to leave our pets unattended, but we still made do and were able to enjoy some of the hotel’s facilities. The indoor pool and fitness center were nice for exercise, and the on-site laundromat and snack bar were a welcome convenience.

Considering the location, it was right on our budget. Additionally, for pet owners, our rooms were assigned on the second floor, which gave us a nice view of the river.
Moreover, the hotel allows our dog to be left unattended for 30 minutes, provided she’s well-behaved. That way, we were able to indulge in some swimming at the hotel’s outdoor pool. All in all, this historic hotel in Wichita provided us with more than local hospitality.

Our stay was made better by the hotel’s affinity for dogs. They allow one pet dog for each room, with an extra fee of $50 per pet/night. With our pup meeting the maximum weight of 50 lbs, our check-in was smooth sailing. The staff even gave our dog some treats. We were met with modern furniture, plush bedding, and bowls for our dog when we got to our room. The settee by the window immediately became our dog’s favorite nap. Additionally, dogs were permitted to be left unattended in crates, giving us the chance to explore the hotel’s amenities. Among them are the outdoor pool, fitness center, and our faves, the billiard table and bar.
Furthermore, the hotel had an ample grassy area to take our dog for potty. As for our daily dog walks, Dr. Glen Dey Park was an easy 4-minute drive away. Besides that, we would mainly spend time chilling by the outdoor lounge with our furry best friend.

At Ambassador Hotel Wichita, we were able to travel with our furry friend in style. This hotel was nothing but iconic. From the moment we arrived, we first noticed the classy lobby, complete with elegant furnishing and chandeliers.
What’s even better is that our pup was also treated like royalty here. Upon checking in, the staff gave our furry friend treats and high-fives. They also helped us with all the pet policies. From explaining the extra $50 pet fee per stay, the maximum pet weight of 35 lbs, and the maximum number of pets allowed in the room being 1. Although for cat owners, we’re sad to say that cats aren’t allowed at the hotel.
Furthermore, after meeting all the policies, we were then brought to our guestroom. Ours was exactly as chic as the hotel’s lobby. It was spacious, with the high-back chair, comfy couch, and coffee maker being our favorite in-room amenities.
To tie it all up, the other feature that boosted Ambassador Hotel Wichita as number two on our list is its location. We loved how it’s right in the heart of downtown Wichita, making sightseeing and walking around with our four-pawed buddy a breeze.
