Tucked amidst some of the world’s most striking red sandstone formations, Sedona, Arizona’s spectacular landscape has long attracted healers, artists, spiritual seekers — and romantics. The city’s proximity to Red Rock State Park, along with its spiritual roots, made it the perfect choice for our rejuvenating break. Since we’re both outdoorsy kinds, we wanted to spend our days kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking before returning to all the comforts that would spoil us. The most romantic hotels in Sedona have luxurious touches like spoiling spas and high-end dining, which is why it’s such a popular romantic destination. We loved the selection of amorous properties in the city, which not only sit across a variety of locations, but also vibes, types, and budgets. However, they all had one similarity — they were all incredibly romantic.
With that in mind, we scoured the length and breadth of the city to ensure that we had a memorable romantic getaway. In this article, we’re bringing you the very same collection — with private hot tubs, fireplaces, et al — so you can begin planning your next romantic escape.

El Portal Sedona Hotel

It’s only fitting that we open this list with what is one of Sedona’s best spa hotels, the El Portal Sedona Hotel. This award-winning boutique inn is enveloped by trees, grapevine trellises, and rockwork, making it something of a romantic hideaway in the middle of the city. However, it’s most known for being connected to the huge spa and wellness center at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. So, staying here gave us the advantage of exclusive and intimate living along with the amenities of a huge and well-designed spa. At the end of a long day of exploring Sedona and indulging in numerous adventure activities, we’d simply head to the spa for a relaxing couples massage and body treatment. Did you know that this bar also offered yoga, pilates, and tai chi classes? Yep.
Staying at this hotel was no less of a delight either. We had a wide variety of accommodation choices, which ranged from impressive rooms to spacious and themed suites. What’s more, some of them, like ours, even had spa baths, fireplaces, and patios. Our romantic Grand Canyon suite came with a lot of stonework, just like the stays at the Grand Canyon, a jacuzzi for two, fluffy robes, a plush bed, and even a patio with a small fireplace just right for the two of us.

Best B&B. Can you imagine staying in a romantic B&B in Sedona? Welcome to A Sunset Chateau, which offers us some of the prettiest panoramic views of the region’s famous red rocks. Despite being a B&B, the hotel didn’t feel like a B&B in the least. For one, it had a host of amazing amenities perfect for our romantic vacation. Every morning, we’d gorge on a delicious and complimentary gourmet breakfast before enjoying a swim and lounge at the saltwater pool. It would be followed by a dip in the jacuzzi, of course. For those who want to stay more active, there’s even an onsite tennis court. We would even relax and sunbathe in the lush gardens while soaking in the beautiful red rock views. Finally, we’d end the day by the outdoor fire pit for alfresco meals under Sedona’s starry sky.
If you were impressed by the amenities, wait till you get to the rooms, or rather the suites. All the suites feature lush king beds, electric fireplaces, kitchenettes, and cozy living room areas. Not all. There were deep soaking tubs, walking showers huge enough for two, and even two vanities in all the luxurious bathrooms! The best bit? Our room even had a furnished private balcony where we’d enjoy and while while soaking in the landscape. No wonder this is considered one of the best luxury hotels in Sedona.

Best boutique hotel. We were looking for romantic boutique hotels in this city, and what better place than Casa Sedona Inn? One of Sedona, Arizona’s best boutique hotels, this inn is ensconced in a secluded spot, surrounded by lush gardens, and with stunning views of Thunder Mountain. It might have been this intimate and peaceful environment that drew us to it, but we ended up loving our stay here too.
Firstly, we had the choice of several rooms, each of which was uniquely decorated and done up in subtle neutral hues. However what we liked most about all rooms was the fact that they all had luxurious bathrooms, private patios/balconies, and even fireplaces. Our “Thunder Mountain” room looked out to the lush gardens, and we’d enjoy a spot of coffee on the patio every morning with mesmerizing views. Since there was no pool on the property, the fact that all bathrooms had jetted jacuzzis or bathtubs was a very thoughtful touch. Nothing could be more romantic than this.
The rest of the resort was equally impressive in terms of amenities. After long days of outdoor adventures in exploring Sedona, the grounds were the perfect place to enjoy long and secluded walks in each other’s company. At the start and end of the day, we dig into delicious meals at the onsite Casa Sedona Restaurant, complete with a seasonal menu.

Adobe Grand Villas

One of the best Sedona hotels with private hot tubs, Adobe Grand Villas was perfect for our romantic vacation in the city. We had the choice of a bunch of mansion-style villas, all with unique themes ranging from classic Old Western- and French Quarter-themed villas to even a saloon-bar-themed one with wagon wheels beds! While sleeping in a wagon wheel bed did seem intriguing, we chose the classic old Western for its extremely romantic vibe. The spacious and stunning villa boasted a personal garden and patio, a dining nook, and a kitchen, but the bathroom was simply spectacular. It not only had a huge jetted bathtub for two but also a fireplace, making it the perfectly cozy nest to unwind and relax after a day of sightseeing.
What was great about these villas is that while they all differed in design, they came with some amenities standard in all of them. These included two-person jetted tubs, private patios, and two fireplaces. Finally, we also loved the full-service spa, which offered a wide range of reiki treatments, crystal healing, aromatherapy, and massages — perfectly primed for couples like us.

Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel

As eco-friendly travelers, we were looking for a romantic yet sustainable love nest for our romantic Sedona sojourn when we chanced upon Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel. Imagine waking up in a swish glass atrium with breathtaking views of Sedona; that’s Ambiente for you. We loved the discerning and cut-off-from-the-world vibe at this adults-only resort, which featured 40 “atrium” rooms and suites. What’s more, they were all private and detached, but the standout was that they all had rooftops, which had better views than more than half of Sedona. The floor-to-ceiling bronze-tinted glass afforded daytime privacy, but our favorite was the rooftop deck with a daybed and a fire pit. On the inside, the minimalist interiors were calming and romantic; think oversized black bathtubs for two in the luxurious bathrooms, stocked kitchenettes, and plush beds.
“Ambiente felt like an otherwordly escape, with dollops of romance thrown into the mix.”
WOW Travel
This first-of-its-kind landscape hotel in North America boasts a whole lot of amenities too, but all with minimal impact to the natural environment. We loved eating the delicious food at the only restaurant on the property, Forty 1, which sat right next to the pool. After a luxurious swim session in the pool, we’d head to the intimate Velvet Spa with its many massages and treatments on offer. The add-on, pre-treatment experience at the Dark Sky Lounge was spectacular; it was a 30-minute vibration and sound-based therapy that put us in a deeply relaxed state. Sigh.

We were looking for a chain hotel that wasn’t a traditional chain hotel, which is why we got lucky with the Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. The breathtaking views are just one of the amazing things about this resort, which sits in the heart of the red rocks landscape of Sedona. We had our pick between studios and one/two-room suites, and that too, they were equipped with everything we could need during our stay.
The star of the amenities here was the full-service Sedona Spa, complete with a vast menu of treatments and massages, and even a dry sauna and a unique eucalyptus steam room. For those who love to stay active, the sports club, mini-golf course, and fitness center are perfect. However, since we were on a romantic holiday, there was nothing better than enjoying a dip in the relaxing heated pool, followed by an unwinding session in the hot tub. Since we both love the outdoors too, we’d spend long days hiking along the many trails that were easily accessible from the property. We’d finally cap our night off barbecuing at the grill, followed by a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants around the property.
The rooms and suites were spacious by Sedona standards, and most came with both balconies and kitchenettes. Our one-bedroom suite overlooked the pool and was filled with all the mod-cons we required for a comfortable and memorable stay.

We’re outdoorsy people, so we were looking for a mix of a romantic, relaxing, and adventurous vacation in Sedona. There’s no better place than The Wilde Resort & Spa, surrounded by Sedona’s enchanting red rocks landscape and even has a private lake on the property. We loved exploring the gardens and courtyards, reminiscent of the Sonoran Desert’s rugged terrain.
The outdoors are centerstage at this property. For instance, we’d sprawl out on the comfy chairs at the cozy firepits at the Grove, the largest outdoor gathering space on the property, with views of Thunder Mountain accompanying us. We loved the unique dining experience at the modern culinary concept, Rascal, which also served vibrant cocktails. Since we love the outdoors, we indulged in a whole lot of excursions to national parks, AV and biking tours, and even hiking. Finally, the best place to relax was the Wilde Haven Spa, which is why we booked the spa package. Not only did it give us USD 100 spa credit but we also enjoyed 2 nights in our spacious accommodations.
We had the choice of 105 contemporary rooms and suites, all with dramatic hues and rich fabrics that complemented the stunning views. Our Grove Red Rock View King Suite not only had a plush bed but also a huge master bathroom with a deep-soaking tub for lots of romantic possibilities. Plus, our walk-out covered balcony was the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine and gorgeous views.

An escape in the sky — that’s the only way to describe the Sky Ranch Lodge Resort & Botanical Gardens, where the views are practically wedding-worthy. Carved into the world-famous Airport Mesa’s rust-hued palette, the setting of this resort couldn’t be more perfect for our romantic getaway.
There’s no better vantage point in Sedona for viewing the gorgeous red rock canyons and sunsets than the private balconies at patios here. The rooms, which boast oodles of vintage charm, also come with local coffee and tea, plush beds, and sleek and luxe bathrooms with robes and slippers. While some rooms had kitchenettes and others had stone fireplaces, they all came with microwaves and fridges. Our Sky King room was a massive and luxurious second-floor retreat, complete with a cozy fireplace and a split balcony that treated us to sweeping views of the botanical gardens below.
The rest of the resort was no less charming. We’d enjoy craft beers and local wines in their garden bar, followed by long, romantic walks on the paths winding through the gardens with fountains. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were our favorite places to unwind and we even had a complimentary shuttle at our disposal to explore the neighborhood. We’d wind up our day with a walk through the luscious botanical garden that’s been certified by the Arboretum International Society, which is an honor reserved solely for this hotel and no other in the world.

Enchantment Resort

There’s more than one reason why the Enchantment Resort made it onto Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Awards” list in both 2021 and 2023. Nestled in Boynton Canyon, around 20 minutes northwest of Sedona, staying at this resort allowed us an immersive experience in the heart of the gorgeous red rock country. Seclusion and privacy aside, the breathtaking canyon views, especially during sunrise and sunset, certainly added a lot more romantic ambiance to our vacation.
The resort had everything we could want, and then some. Thanks to its reciprocal arrangement with Mii Amo Spa, one of the world’s best destination spas, we were able to indulge in a specially curated couples treatment and wellness experience. Since we’d taken their Many Moons package, we even had a USD 250 credit at the spa, which turned out to be perfect. Not only that, but it also included breakfast at Che Ah Chi restaurant, which served delicious Southwestern cuisine. The pool was our favorite, as we’d enjoy a swim followed by a lounge on the daybeds and drinks from the poolside bar. The best bit? When it was time to wind down, we had a lot of activities to choose from, including arts and crafts, lawn games, and stargazing.
One of the most romantic features of the package was the signature welcome amenity that was tailored to our romantic anniversary celebration. We had the choice of seasonal fruits, truffles and berries, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Plus, there were also many accommodation choices, from cozy casitas to spacious suites. Nevertheless, they all had stunning views, private decks, and Southwestern decor.

L’Auberge de Sedona

Best resort. One of the two best resorts nestled on the banks of Oak Creek, the luxurious L’Auberge de Sedona is the ultimate romantic getaway. It was the ideal place to escape to Sedona’s Red Rock countryside, with the sound of water trickling over rock only making the calming vibe 10 times better.
We could experience the idyllic creekside location throughout the 11-acre property, right from the dining scenes to the spa. The award-winning restaurant, Cress on Oak Creek, offered delicious meals with stunning creekside views. What’s more, the L’Apothecary spa allowed us to make our body products using the property’s signature ‘Oak Creek essence!’ Moreover, they also offer a range of romantic packages, including the “The Celebration Package” as part of their 40th anniversary offering. So, our stay turned into an intimate celebration for two with a three-night stay in a gorgeous cottage and an exclusive three-course, custom-tasting menu dinner served right in our digs. Sigh.
When it came to the stays, we had the choice of a standalone 5-bedroom Creekhouse, 21 lodge-style rooms, and 62 luxury cottages. One of the reasons we chose our package was because it included a stay in the private cottages, which were nestled amidst lush trees and gardens. What’s more, they came with free Wi-fu, king beds, and cozy fireplaces too, but their best features were alfresco. Imagine a huge outdoor shower for indulging in a nighttime moonlit bathing session, followed by a lounge on the deck with only the waters of the rushing Oak Creek in the background. That’s why it’s one of the best resorts to stay in Sedona, AZ.

Most romantic views. The Amara Resort and Spa is undoubtedly the most romantic hotel there is in Sedona. Tucked on the banks of Oak Creek, this luxurious retreat was perfect for our romantic weekend getaway. When we stayed here, we didn’t realize that it was more than just a luxurious stay with spectacular views of Sedona’s landscape; it was a secluded tree-lined experience.
We loved the abundance of romantic amenities at this resort, starting with the gorgeous outdoor pool and hot tub, complete with poolside beverage services. Later, we headed to the coveted Amara spa for a stress-relieving couples massage and a body treatment. Since we’d taken their “Stay and Relax Package,” we’d already chosen our treatments while reserving our stay. In the evening, the resort’s shuttle even took us down the road so we could experience Sedona’s nightlife. We even took the complimentary bicycles to explore the neighborhood another day. However, we had the most romantic experience at the onsite restaurant SaltRock, which served delicious Southwestern cuisine. Cozying up to each other at the fire pit-dotted outdoor patio with jaw-dropping views of the red rock formations was the most romantic way to end the day.
If you were impressed by the amenities, wait till you see the spacious rooms and suites here. They not only featured plush beds but also oversized soaking tubs and private balconies. Our Creekside room even offered wonderful views of the creek running by the property, along with lots of tranquility.

Sedona might seem like a small city, but it’s quite large. So, we had to choose a neighborhood to stay in. One of its most popular neighborhoods is Uptown Sedona, which is also great for first-timers. This lively neighborhood is home to some of the most popular and sought-after art galleries, shops, and restaurants. What’s more, it’s also a very walkable area with free shuttle services to all popular trails. Its central location made it an excellent base for us as we wanted to explore Sedona too.
If you prefer fewer crowds, you will love West Sedona, which is much quieter than Uptown. What’s more, it offered us easy access to some excellent trails and scenic drives around. Another peaceful neighborhood you might want to check out is Oak Creek, which is close to Oak Creek Canyon and boasts a family-friendly atmosphere.
