New York City is a fabulously family-friendly city; there are museums, parks, waterparks, drive-in theaters, outdoor activities, and more. So, when it came to looking for excellent properties for the adults, kids, and everyone in tow, we began looking for stays with two-bedroom suites. It was especially easier in the Big Apple, as we found a profusion of 2 bedroom suite hotels in New York City. Not only were we able to stay together as a family, but we also saved on the money we would have spent had we booked two hotel rooms. What’s more, these hotels ranged across different neighborhoods, styles, and budgets, which ensured that there was a choice for all kinds of travelers.
After all, NYC is one of the world’s most expensive cities, which means that every penny saved on booking hotel rooms is a penny earned! Last but not least, we didn’t want to end up in the Presidential Suite, which would have cost us a bomb! To that end, here’s a detailed guide to the best two-bedroom suite stays in the “City That Never Sleeps.”

The Kimberly Hotel
11
We begin our list with The Kimberly Hotel, a delightful and luxurious East Midtown hotel decked out in an elegant Italian style. This property was ideal for exploring sights and attractions like Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, and Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, with the Theater District and Times Square being a mere 20-minute walk away.
What we loved about the Kimberly was the exclusivity, as there was only one kind of two-bedroom suite available. These luxurious two-bedroom suites comprised master bedrooms with king beds and a second one with a king/queen/two double beds, depending on the configuration that we wanted. What’s more, they had two full marble bathrooms, complete with bespoke bath products. Thanks to the separate living rooms with Scott Jordan-designed pull-out sofas, the suite could fit two more adults, making it perfect for our large group visiting NYC. But that’s not all; there was even a kitchenette where we could prepare coffee and light meals, as well as a separate dining area where we could enjoy them. The best bit, though? Since these suites were on the 24th-30th floors and faced the 50th Street, they all had balconies with the most wonderful views.
Measuring roughly 1000 sq. ft., the two-bedroom suites at the Kimberly were certainly a great start to our NYC holiday.

Best Western Plus Hospitality House Suites

Best chain hotel. We chose the Best Western Plus Hospitality House Suites for more reasons than just one. Firstly, the location was excellent, as we were within walking distance of Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Times Square, and some of the best sights of Midtown Manhattan. What’s more, it was a spacious and upscale chain hotel with all the comforts we could ask for. Since this was an extended-stay hotel, they didn’t have traditional amenities like a pool or a spa, but they did have concierge service and a 24-hour front desk. The cherry on top was the complimentary breakfast that they served every day, complete with coffee, juices, fruits, pastries, cereal, waffles, eggs, and whatnot.
That being said, the highlight here was the suites that were designed to be a home away from home, complete with tall ceilings and oak floors. We had the choice of many expansive two-bedroom apartments, which all had fully outfitted kitchens for up to six people. What’s more, they also had two oversized bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Moreover, the bathrooms were modern and even came with a separate bathtub. What more could we ask for?

Hotel Scherman

Best boutique hotel. NOLA comes to the Big Apple in the form of the gorgeous Hotel Scherman, and we couldn’t wait to stay at this lovely hotel. Its location in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen was perfect, as we were close to Times Square and the Broadway Theater District as well.
But what we loved about the hotel was its cozy and beautiful two-bedroom suites. We had the choice of many such suites, all of which had two bedrooms with a king and queen bed and a living room with a sofa bed. So, they could sleep up to six adults. What’s more, the suites all boasted two bathrooms, which ensured that we didn’t have to scramble to get ready in the mornings. Moreover, even though it included a complimentary breakfast in the plan, they all came with small kitchens, which had microwaves, fridges, and wet bars, which was perfect for when we didn’t want to eat outside and wanted to whip up something in our kitchens.
When compared to the others on this list, the two-bedroom suites at Scherman are certainly on the smaller side, around 700 sq ft. That being said, some suites, like ours, even had gorgeous large balconies where we could enjoy our morning coffee and afternoon tea. So, we didn’t mind the smaller floor plan one bit!

Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards New York City
8
Two-bedroom suite luxury in the heart of Midtown, NYC? We couldn’t believe it too, but the Equinox Hotel defied all myths and expectations to become one of our favorite stays ever. This opulent, highrise Hudson Yards hotel, which is its only luxury hotel, actually sits on the fringes of Midtown Manhattan. The brand is pretty much ubiquitous with upscale wellness, and this outpost was no different. Its highlight is the 60,000 sq ft huge club space, which boasts a fitness center, plunge pools, as well as indoor and outdoor pools. There was even an onsite Spa by Equinox, which was the pinnacle of rejuvenation and relaxation around.
While the overarching theme is wellness here, we found what we were looking for, which was two-bedroom suites. We had all the space we possibly wanted in their two-bedroom suites, which were a Deluxe King room/Double Double and a Premier Suite/Deluxe Suite connected by a private vestibule. So, they could sleep six adults easily, making it the perfect luxurious group perch in Midtown. Besides the usual luxury hotel strappings, the suites also boasted curated roombars, Nespresso machines, and a discrete living room, complete with a sitting area and a sofa.

Loews Regency

We were looking for an unstuffy luxurious hotel close to attractions such as the Met, the Natural History Museum, and Central Park, and the Loews Regency fit the bill perfectly. It’s not just one of the best family hotels in Manhattan but one of the best family hotels in NYC, and it was easy to see why.
Firstly, the rooms and suites at the Loews were one of the most spacious we’d seen in all of the Big Apple. In fact, we had two flexible options for two-bedroom suites, the Bespoke Suite and the Classic 1970s Apartment Two-Bedroom Suite. 1150 sq. feet (107 sq. m). While the former had a king bed and a double in the bedrooms (with a connecting room), the latter had two bedrooms, each with a king bed. What’s more, the classic 1970s apartment even had a balcony and a large walk-in closet in the master bedroom. If that wasn’t enough, it even had a spacious living/dining room, complete with an open kitchen with a fridge and a microwave. All in all, staying here certainly made our NYC vacation easier, more comfortable, and more memorable.
Rounding the amenities at this Art Deco gem are the convenient on-site restaurants, concierge service, and 24-hour gym access.

Lotte New York Palace

The historic Lotte New York Palace faces Madison Avenue, but its history goes back to 1882. At that time, the six neoclassical-style townhouses that the hotel sits in catered to NYC’s elite. Today, it’s one of the best 2-bedroom suite hotels in New York City, and for a good reason. Firstly, the Midtown location right across the street from Rockefeller Center is fantastic, with some of the top things to do in New York City located close by.
Secondly, and more importantly, we had many choices when it came to two-bedroom suites, starting with the Palace Family Suite, which had a unique floor plan. Basically, it comprised two bedrooms, each with a double bed, a separate seating area, and a bathroom, and were connected by a door on the inside. Since we were traveling with kids, this suite suited us perfectly without having to spend a lot. What’s more, there were many more options for two-bedroom suites, like the Palace Family Two Doubles Suite which added a double bed in one of the bedrooms.
Luxury was the name of the game in the Palace Two-Bedroom Signature Suite, which boasted two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two double beds. What’s more, it also had a living room and a dining area, as well as a well-equipped kitchen, and three bathrooms. So, if you’re more than six adults, then this larger suite is perfect for you. The largest was the Towers Two-Bedroom Corner Suite, which also had a king and two queen beds, but was larger.

Hotel Beacon

It’s rare to find an affordable two-bedroom suite near Central Park, and that too in a stylish hotel, but Hotel Beacon was an exception.
Despite being smaller than many other 2-bedroom suites on this list, what made the 800 sq ft perfect for us was that we were 8 adults. This particular two-bedroom suite boasted a king bed in one bedroom and two double beds in the second bedroom. But that wasn’t all. There was even a queen-size pullout sofa bed in the living room, meaning this suite could easily sleep up to eight adults. Not only that, but the suite also had two spacious marble bathrooms, so we didn’t all have to clamber to get ready in the mornings. The best bit was that it came with a fully equipped kitchenette, so we could whip up light meals for all of us when we didn’t feel like stepping out. It was also perfect for packing meals when we explored the city for the entire day.
Not for nothing is Hotel Beacon one of the best hotels near Central Park. This historic 1924-opened hotel gets its name from the airway beacon on its roof, which was the largest in the world at the time. When it came to the amenities, the hotel even had a bar serving cocktails and small plates and a small but well-equipped fitness center.

Mint House at 70 Pine

Imagine staying in an Art Deco building in the heart of the Financial District – that’s the Mint House at 70 Pine for you. It was one of the nicer buildings in the area, and we didn’t mind paying top dollar for it for more reasons than one. Firstly, the location was excellent; we were close to Pier 17, Wall Street, the subway station, and Downtown NYC as well. Secondly, it had several exclusive amenities, like a bowling alley, a golf simulator, a modern fitness center, and even a gourmet grocer, which was very important to us. Secondly,
As far as two-bedroom suite options went, we had multiple options of spacious units measuring more than 1,050 sq. ft. in size. The first option was the two-bedroom corner suites, which featured a king and a queen bed in separate bedrooms, a fully equipped one-wall kitchen, and a single bathroom off the living room. The two-bedroom plus suites, on the other hand, boasted a king and queen bed in separate bedrooms, and one ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom, besides the other one off the living room. Nevertheless, both types of suites had Frette linens, Malin+Goetz bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and even washer/dryer units. Finally, the suites even had free Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and Bluetooth-enabled vinyl record players.

AKA Times Square

We love staying around Times Square due to the sheer ease and convenience the neighborhood offers. When it comes to a well-located 2 bedroom suite in New York City, nothing compares to the slew of options that AKA Times Square offers. They have an entire collection of elegant two-bedroom suites ranging from 851 to 885 sq ft in size. What’s more, they all boast two double beds, washer/dryer units, hardwood floors, fully-equipped kitchens, contemporary bathrooms, and separate living rooms with huge TVs for unwinding together. But that’s not all. The hotel’s Premium Collection also includes two-bedroom suites, which were the perfect option for our extended stay in NYC. Besides the spa-like bathrooms in all of them, we especially loved the addition of the lovely den which was great for both relaxing and working. The best bit? This feature was only there in select suites, making our stay feel exclusive.
For those who want to splurge, this AKA outpost also has a bunch of two-bedroom Penthouse Suites that are wonderfully elevated retreats. Moreover, these designer suites also allow guests easy access to their chic Penthouse-level A.Lounge, which makes for a luxurious extension of the living space. Did we mention the pinnacle of living here is the bi-level Times Square Penthouse Residence, which is also a two-bedroom suite? Yep.

Andaz 5th Avenue, A Concept by Hyatt

Yet another luxurious stay right on 5th Avenue is Andaz 5th Avenue, A Concept by Hyatt, a fantastic Midtown hotel sitting right opposite the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. This hotel was perfect for us as we had some excellent shopping avenues right along 5th Avenue that we wanted to explore. What’s more, this luxurious Hyatt property had it all: a speakeasy-style bar, on-site and in-room dining, a business center, and even a 24-hour fitness center.
“Luxury living didn’t get any better than at Andaz, and that too with a ton of space.”
WOW Travel
However, it was the sheer choice of 2-bedroom suites that swept us away. Our first choice was the amazing 1,779 sq-ft-huge corner Empire Suite with a wraparound terrace. Besides the fabulous views of the New York Public Library and the Empire State Building, the suite boasted two king beds, a living room with a sofa bed, and a fully furnished sleek kitchenette. Nespresso coffeemakers, huge flatscreen TVs, Bose sound systems, and marble bathrooms make for excellent additions. Moreover, there were two other options for two-bedroom suites: the 1,537 sq-ft-huge Premier Two-Bedroom Suite and the Andaz Suites, which ranged from 930-1,175 sq ft in size. These also had two king beds, sitting areas with sleeper sofas, and kitchenettes. The best bit? All suites boasted huge, opulent travertine marble bathrooms with luxury Apotek bath products.

Dominick Hotel
1
The Dominick Hotel was our absolute favorite as it sat right in SoHo, in the heart of Manhattan. So, location-wise, we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. What’s more, the hotel offered a bevy of luxurious amenities, including a fitness center, a full-service spa, four restaurants, and even a seventh-floor heavenly pool with beautiful city views. What impressed us even more were the digs. Their lovely 2 bedroom NYC hotel suites have custom-made furniture, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, Italian marble bathrooms, and a small kitchen (microwave, Nespresso maker).
Of all the two-bedroom suites, the most basic one (but hardly so) is the 1,117 sq-ft-huge skyline view 2-bedroom suite. Located on the 16th-26th floors, the suites boasted two king beds, one in a skyline king room and another in the skyline one-bedroom suite. Moreover, they were connected either by a shared entry exterior foyer or an interior doorway.
That said, the hotel is especially known for its SoHi Suites & Penthouses, which consist of a host of amazing two-bedroom suites. The SoHi two-bedroom suites, which are the same as the skyline ones, sit on floors 27-41 and are the smallest in the category. Next is the 42nd-floor Junior Penthouse with 2 bedrooms, followed by the Landmark/Landmark Sunset Penthouses on the 42nd, 43rd, and 44th floors, also featuring 2 bedrooms. The 33rd-floor Tribeca Penthouse is larger than them all, with stunning views of downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River. Finally, at the top is the two-bedroom Dominick Duplex Penthouse on the 43rd/44th floors, which offers one of Manhattan’s most expansive views.

Where to Stay in New York City?
New York City is huge; it has five boroughs spread over a massive area, and within those boroughs lie numerous neighborhoods just waiting to be explored. So, it was very important for us to choose a specific neighborhood, depending on what we planned to see and do in the city.
We’d recommend Midtown Manhattan to just about everyone, especially first-time travelers. The area is the prime neighborhood for sightseeing and has tons of interesting activities and attractions, no matter where we look. It’s also the heart and soul of the city with excellent choices for hotels, shopping options, and drinking and dining choices. Secondly, there’s Lower Manhattan, a.k.a. downtown Manhattan, which lies just south of Midtown. It’s a lovely blend of many diverse cultures and cuisines and boasts a vibrant and fabulous nightlife scene. When it comes to the Lower East Side, neighborhoods like East Village, Tribeca, and SoHo are worth staying at. While the Financial District (FiDi) might seem uninteresting, it’s home to some of the city’s tallest skyscrapers, including the Old World Trade Center, one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers.
Families will especially love the Upper East and the Upper West Sides, which are the best NYC neighborhoods to stay in if you want to stay close to Central Park. These neighborhoods are full of lovely streets, parks, museums, cultural institutions, and lots of kid-friendly places too. Finally, there’s Williamsburg in Brooklyn across the river from the Lower East Side. The cool neighborhood boasts a laidback vibe and is perfect for adventurous families or those with grown-up children.
