After being home with our fur babies by our side 24×7, planning a holiday or even a short weekend getaway without them just didn’t sit right with us. Novotel Manila Araneta Center
11
Novotel Manila Araneta Center has one of the largest rooms and suites in the city for catering to families. And by family, they also mean those families that include four-legged furbabies!
According to their pet policy, we can bring both cats and dogs here, limited to two pets per room and having a maximum height of two feet. For the same, we have to pay a non-refundable pet fee of 1,500 PHP (26.5 USD) per pet per night. But they also give a pet surface guard, a toy, and a towel per pet for this fee. If that wasn’t enough, the pets also have access to a dedicated pet relief area on the seventh floor called Novopets Go Potty. The same floor also has a gorgeous Versailles Garden where your pets can enjoy a much-needed walk. We had fun taking pictures of our pets under the floral archways leading to the center of the green space.
Located in the heart of Quezon City, this Novotel outpost has an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and lounge, and even an outdoor pool to cool off in Manila’s heat.

Best serviced apartments. We were looking for the freedom of serviced apartments along with the ease of staying in an area as central as Makati. That’s why there’s no place better than Ascott Makati, a serviced residence at Glorietta, which is the vibrant epicenter of everything in the neighborhood. This serviced aparthotel welcomes both cats and dogs for a non-refundable pet fee of 1,500 PHP (26.5 USD) per day. For those who plan on staying longer, there’s even a weekly rate of 7,500 PHP (132 USD) and a monthly rate of 15,000 PHP (265 USD), should it come to that. For the same, they allow a maximum of two pets per room, and pet humans have to be present in the room during the cleaning. Also, pets should be in diapers when passing through common and public areas.
Staying at the Ascot Makati meant stupendous views over the entire city. Despite having the tag of a serviced apartment, the amenities here were 5-star ones, including a wonderful outdoor pool, tennis courts, and even a spa. The well-designed apartments came with all mod-cons, classic dark wood furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The best bit? The place has a restaurant and bar that serves breakfasts, hot meals, and even after-meal drinks.

Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites

The Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites might be popular for their all-blue indoor swimming pool – and that too, a temperature-controlled one. However, we were also floored by their pet-friendly policy, which is also a good reason to book a stay here.
This all-suite hotel allows guests to bring 1 dog weighing a maximum of 75 lbs (34 kg) and having a maximum height of 2 ft. Or, you could bring 2 cats or your pet fish, which is to be kept in a container with a capacity of not more than 5 liters (1.3 gallons). Yes, according to this place, even cats and fish need their days off, and we agree with them! For the same, they ask for a refundable security deposit of 2,000 PHP (35 USD) per night, along with a one-time fee ranging from 1,000-2,500 PHP (17.6-44 USD), depending on the room booked. Also, don’t forget to fill out the Pet Agreement Form, which also requires a photo of your pet, which we know you’ll have in scores!
“Our fish got the opportunity to travel, thanks to Joy-Nostalg Hotel! It was an absolute joy to be able to bring my pet on vacay here, while enjoying a luxurious stay ourselves.”
WOW Travel
Besides the pet policy, we love the well-equipped and homely with mod-cons, private kitchens, and washer-dryers. What’s more, the property has modern amenities, including a fitness center, an indoor pool which we previously mentioned, and the Nostalgia Dining Lounge and bar.

Somerset Millennium Makati

We wanted to explore Manila as much as possible and were looking for the perfect location to stay when we chanced upon the Somerset Millenium Makati. Staying here placed us within walking distance of The Landmark, Greenbelt, and Glorietta, as well as many of the top things to do in Manila. To top that, this serviced aparthotel was pet-friendly, which meant that our furry friends also got to enjoy impressive city views. For one, this place welcomed both cats and dogs and that too of any size. For the same, they had a pet maintenance fee of 1,000 PHP (26.5 USD) per day. Just like other excellent serviced apartments in the city, the Somerset Millennium offers studios and apartments with all mod-cons and has a swimming pool and a fitness center on-site.

Hotel 2016 Manila

If you’re looking for a budget, pet-friendly hotel in downtown Manila, Philippines, with a sense of humor, then Hotel 2016 Manila is where you should be. This hotel welcomes pets of all sizes for no fee at all – with the exception of “potentially threatening animals” like “tigers, venomous snakes, boa constrictors, tarantulas, and scorpions,” according to their hilarious reservations desk. What’s more, one can bring up to two pets per room, which ensures that families like ours that have four-legged companions aren’t left out. Since the hotel lies near Intramuros, we could easily head there every day with our doggies for long, long walks.
Besides being pet-friendly, the hotel also has free Wi-Fi and room service, along with a 24-hour front desk. Every morning, we’d be served a hot breakfast with Asian, American, and continental food options. The rooms were no less impressive and came with cable flatscreen TVs, modern bathrooms, and complimentary toiletries.

Cabins by Eco-Hotel, Tagaytay

We were looking for a pet-friendly property slightly away from the bustle of the city when we chanced upon Cabins by Eco-Hotels Tagaytay. This is Eco-Hotel’s premier property at Tagaytay, around an hour south of Manila. We and our pets roamed easily throughout all common areas on all the floors, including the co-working spaces and even the roof deck! In fact, we enjoyed eating and drinking at the pool deck, which boasted breathtaking views of Taal Lake. Moreover, every room was configured such that it provided soothing comfort to both us and our fur babies.
In fact, our pup thoroughly enjoyed the company of the cuddly resident mascot, Blue! They scampered and frolicked about as we enjoyed a much-delayed meal at the onsite restaurant. Regarding the pet policy, the hotel allows pets weighing a maximum of 25 lbs (11 kg), and they should always be kept on a leash. For the same, they charge a housekeeping fee of 500 PHP (8.8 USD) per night, per pet, along with a security deposit of 2,000 PHP (35 USD). These need to be settled at the hotel when you check in. Also this is in addition to the security deposit of 1,000 PHP (17.6 USD) per room. Whatever deposits aren’t consumed are refundable when you check out.

Sofitel Philippines Plaza Manila

Most luxurious. Shouldn’t your pet also get to holiday in style? That’s why we’re recommending the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, one of Manila’s most luxurious hotels where our doggie had the time of his life. While their policy limits one pet to each room, the hotel allows both cats and dogs. For a fixed, non-refundable fee of 5,000 PHP (88 USD), the hotel gave our furbabies a comfy and soft bed, food and water bowls, and even chew toys. That said, pets are allowed only in the booked room and the common areas, but they’re allowed in the outdoor areas, including La Veranda and Sunset Bar outdoor areas. This is very rare for a hotel.
This culturally teeming icon is famous for its Spiral Buffet, which is considered to be one of the best buffets in all of Manila. Besides the amazing food at the restaurants, the hotel also has a very popular lagoon-shaped swimming pool.

Fernandina 88 Suites Residences

If you’re in Manila for a spur-of-the-moment vacation or staycation with your furbaby, then the Fernandina 88 Suites Residences should suit you perfectly. Not only is staying here not too hard on the pocket, but also the hotel is pet-friendly. The hotel allows you to bring up to two pets per room, but each pet should weigh a maximum of only 40 lbs (18 kg). That said, there’s no pet maintenance fee as such. However, guests will need to avail the 500 PHP-costing (8.8 USD) pet kit, which includes trash bags, hand sanitizer, dry tissues, wet wipes, and plastic gloves. We liked the suites and residences at this hotel, which gave our pet the space to scamper and walk around a bit. Moreover, the rooms came with private bathrooms, flatscreen TVs, and fridges for our comfort.

Best boutique. We loved the stylish industrial design at the B Hotel – Quezon City, which starts from the lobby and goes all the way to their rooms. Think chains, bike wheels, and exposed pipes as decor. Since it opened, this boutique hotel has welcomed both dogs and cats on the property for an additional, non-refundable pet boarding fee. What’s more, the fee is variable and ranges from 1,000-2,000 PHP (17.6-35 USD) per night, depending on the kind of room you book. Additionally, they also charge a refundable security deposit of 5,000 PHP (88 USD) per pet. Finally, you can bring a maximum of two pets per room with a maximum weight of 22 lbs (10 kg) each. Also, do let them know ahead of your travel dates about how and when you’ll be dropping by.
We loved relaxing at the hotel, whether it was the outdoor swimming pool with daybeds or the restaurants that serve all cuisines under the sun. There’s also a fitness center where you can work out on vacation if you’re that kind of a traveler. Moreover, all rooms have flatscreen TVs and private bathrooms with bespoke products. What more could we want?

Hilton Manila

Best chain property. For an additional one-time pet fee of 7,500 PHP (132 USD), guests can bring up to two dogs or cats along for their stay at the Hilton Manila. All they need to make sure is that the oets each have a maximum weight of 30 lbs (13.6 kg), and they’re all set. Also, guests need to make sure that they have an advanced reservation and send an e-mail with a full pet waiver before their booking date. However, all the extra work was worth it as soon as we arrived at our pet-friendly rooms, which came with some snacks, a water dish, and a plush bed for our little one.
Of course, we, too, enjoyed staying here to the hilt with Hilton’s signature Serenity Bed, a bathtub, and a huge TV. What’s more, the hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and a restaurant serving a wide variety of international cuisines. The staff is also excellent, helping us with our furbabies at any time of the day.

The Westin Manila

Sitting at the top of this list of list is The Westin Manila, which happens to be one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Manila. The Westin Manila is a pet-friendly hotel and welcomes all kinds of dog breeds in its pet-friendly rooms and suites, in the common areas, and at the alfresco portion of the Lobby Lounge. In fact, the doggies, including ours, are even given special amenities such as a plush Heavenly® Dog Bed, which is a signature of the hotel brand. The cleaning fee varies across room categories, so you’ll have to contact the hotel once you’ve made your booking.
But that’s not all. As recently as June 2023, the Westin Manila has come up with the new ‘A La Bark’ menu on weekends. It spoiled our pooch with a a range of treats and balanced bowls that we’re sure your dogs will love too. Think treats such as Tzushi, Bibimbark, Woofaccino, and even dessert in the form of the Baker’s Pupcake! To cool doggies off, they even have Icy Fruit Pups made with fresh homemade juices. What could be better than this?

Where To Stay in Manila with Your Pet?
Manila has lots of amazing neighborhoods where you can stay and explore with our four-legged friends. Firstly, there’s the amazing Bonifacio Global City with its broad avenues and wide sidewalks perfect for walking our pets. What’s more, it also has tons of restaurants that allow us to dine in their alfresco areas with our pooches. Next, there’s Makati, which no list of best neighborhoods in Manila can be complete without. It’s the homier, much more elegant side of Manila’s business district and is an outdoor extravaganza that our pets love.
Finally, there’s Quezon City which lies northeast of the city center and is one of the coolest places to stay in the city. it’s home to the Eastwood Mall, which was one of the city’s first malls to have pet-friendly policies welcoming dogs. What’s more, the neighborhood also has a ton of cat and dog cafes and some excellent places to eat for their “hoomans,” too.
Pet-Friendly Restaurants / Bars in Manila
- Barkingham Pet Cafe: Don’t be fooled by the name, for this cafe offers services to not just dogs but also cats. Our furry friends were groomed and pampered to the hilt by professionals as we sat back and relaxed with a cuppa. In fact, the grooming area was easily visible from where we were sitting, so we didn’t have to worry even a bit. Afterward, we and our pet enjoyed snacks together, as the café has offerings for both pets and their humans.
- Whole Pet Kitchen: Are you looking for a place to have a nice meal with your pet? This place has offerings for both you and your furbabies, and that too healthy ones. Besides the ball pit and obstacle course, the place also has a café and a retail store that sells special dog treats.
- Hachi Park: This off-leash dog park in Circulo Verde is named after the famous Japanese dog Hachiko. It also has a pet-friendly serviced apartment and an open space where all your canine companions can play and run with other dogs. What’s more, the perimeter is secure thanks to the high fence.
