Accommodation doesn’t come cheap here though, and although there is a wide range of options, hotels in Vail Co can burn a hole in your pocket. We’ve reviewed what we think are some of the best hotels in Vail Co to help you narrow down your choices. However, if you’re looking for cheaper hotels near Vail Colorado then a good idea would be to try the more affordable towns of Frisco or Avon.
Although Vail is world-famous as a ski destination there’s surprisingly plenty to do here offseason too. It makes for a good weekend destination from Denver as it’s less than a two-hour drive from the city. The town which was modeled on Bavaria in Germany has a distinctly Austrian inspired architecture with its chalet styled lodges. Bavarian influences are also seen on the menus of many quality restaurants in Vail.
Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa

Located minutes away from the Gondola One you’ll find the four-pearl Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa. Surrounded on all sides by fir trees, this charming stone and wood lodge is one of the more popular hotels in Vail, Co with the skiing crowd. Given its compact size, the property is surprisingly big on amenities.
It has a huge fitness center with a two-story climbing wall and a spa offering massages and treatments. An indoor hot tub in the locker room and two heated outdoor whirlpool hot tubs are also available for guests. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary breakfast and other meals at the onsite restaurant.
The lodge has 20 hotel rooms and seven condos. Rooms, condos, and suites are spacious and tastefully designed with their own gas fireplace. You’ll find ample modern conveniences in the room to enhance your comfort. Bathrooms have heated stone floors and separate soaking tubs along with walk-in showers.
Vail Marriott Mountain Resort

Conveniently located in the center of Vail, about 300m from Eagle Bahn Gondola 19, is the family-friendly Vail Marriott Mountain Resort. Another great thing about the hotel is the ski concierge at the onsite Charter Sports. It makes it so much easier for guests to access the stellar slopes that Vail has to offer. Depending on your budget, you can choose to stay in a regular hotel room or a spacious condominium. The two-or three-bed condominiums come with a full kitchen and plenty of space for the entire family.
Lion Square Lodge

One of the most convenient hotels in Vail Co for serious skiers is the Lion Square Lodge. Located just minutes away from the Eagle Bahn Gondola, the East and South Buildings of the lodge have ski-in/ ski-out access. For guests staying at the North Building, it’s an easy walk to the Gondola. Lionshead Square and Vail Village are also an easy walk from here.
Guests can choose between cozy hotel rooms and more spacious condominiums. All rooms have modern conveniences such as a flat-screen cable TV, complimentary wifi, a refrigerator, and coffee-making facilities. The lodge also has an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, and an onsite Latin-fusion restaurant.
Manor Vail Lodge

Spread out over four acres of land at the base of the mountain is another family-friendly condo resort, Manor Vail Lodge. The ski lifts are just across the street at an easy walking distance from here so getting onto the slopes is easy. Manor lodge has all the amenities and conveniences that you would expect from a ski lodge. Its convenient location puts you in close proximity to many of the other attractions that Vail has to offer.
You’ll find a variety of condos here, from one-two and three-bedroom suites to more upscale accommodation. There are also a few traditional guest rooms. Rooms have private balconies with some great views. A variety of decks around the lodge provide you with excellent vistas. Manor Vail Lodge also has a pretty good spa with saunas and steam rooms, two heated pools and four hot tubs. It also has an onsite restaurant and fitness center.

It’s just two minutes to the closest ski lift from The Lodge at Vail, making it one of the best hotels in Vail for skiers. The historic lodge, inspired by Alpine chalets, prides itself on being one of the oldest in the region. It’s situated just minutes from the slopes and also in close proximity to Vail Village.
Many of the guest rooms have an attached balcony that looks out on the slopes or the pool. Rooms are comfortable with ensuite bathrooms and modern conveniences. The Lodge has quite a few amenities to keep guests occupied. For one, it has more pool and jacuzzi space than any other hotel here. With two outdoor year-round pools and six jacuzzis, an excellent modern spa, and fitness center, it comes as no surprise that this is one of the more sought after hotels in Vail Co.
The Arrabelle

The Arrabelle is one of the closest hotels to the Eagle Bahn lift, right in the heart of Vail Square in Lionshead. This chalet-inspired lodge has an old-world feel with its European style architecture. A huge stone fireplace, dramatic cast-iron chandeliers, and high-back leather chairs, in the lobby, give the lodge a luxurious feel. The Arrabelle has a thriving apres-ski scene making it one of the more popular hotels in Vail Co for skiers.
Spacious rooms with a rustic touch are outfitted with huge marble bathrooms and large fireplaces. Soft bathrobes and a host of other amenities are available in the rooms. Tivoli Lodge

Just a brief walk from the ski lifts in the heart of town is the upscale, family-run Tivoli Lodge. This boutique ski lodge sells out pretty quickly during peak season as it’s not as heavily priced as most of the resorts around. Regarded as one of the best hotels in Vail, Tivoli Lodge has quite a lot to offer its guests. Apart from its convenient location at the base of the mountain and close to the shops and restaurants, the warm rustic ambiance of the hotel is a big draw for guests. Skiers have the advantage of a free ski valet and storage service at the lodge.
You can expect tastefully designed homey, warm rooms here. Although the regular rooms are not as spacious as the suites, they have ample modern conveniences. Some rooms have separate soaking tubs and walk-in showers while the standard rooms have shower/tub combos. There are two spacious outdoor whirlpools that are great at the end of the day for soothing those worked muscles. A fitness center is also on-site.
The Sebastian

Vail is known for its upscale accommodations whether five-star properties, condos or boutique hotels. The Sebastian, part of the Timbers Resorts group, is a luxury boutique resort big on amenities to ensure guests have a memorable stay. Located just off Frontage Road and I-70, it’s a convenient location to the slopes too. The Vista Bahn ski lift is about a ten-minute walk from here but there’s also a free shuttle to The Sebastian’s slope-side retreat, Base Camp. This private mountain club at the foot of the mountain offers skiers the convenience of a ski valet.
The Sebastian has a residential feel to it with a high level of style that is highly appealing to families. A game room, well-equipped play area for toddlers, an intimate library and a high-end spa are just some of the amenities that draw families and couples here. You’ll also find an attractive outdoor pool with a waterfall and four hot tubs. Added to all this are a bistro and lounge.
Evergreen Lodge

If you’re looking out for a lower-priced hotel in Vail the Evergreen Lodge is a good option. This mid-range lodge is great for those looking to spend time off the slopes too as it is within walking distance of Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Located in a quieter part of town, Evergreen offers guests a tranquil setting with a host of conveniences. The hotel offers ski equipment on hire as well as storage space for your gear.
An outdoor year-round pool, a large indoor jacuzzi with sauna, fitness center and games room are some of the amenities you can look forward to here. Guests can choose from various categories of rooms equipped with modern conveniences. However, the decor of the place does seem a little dated.
Four Seasons Resort

The Four Seasons brand is renowned for its luxury, comfort and high standards and the resort in Vail lives up to the hype. Arguably one of the best hotels in Vail Co, the Four Seasons Resort has everything you would for in a luxury hotel. Stone and wood accents inside and outside and sloping roof eaves make it look like a grand ski chalet. Although this is not a ski-in/ski-out property, there are frequent shuttles from the hotel to the lifts. Guests can also make use of the Ski Concierge facilities offered by the hotel.
The rooms at the Four Seasons are bright and spacious with gas fireplaces, individual balconies, and deep walk-in closets. Bathrooms are also quite spacious and have standalone soaking tubs as well as stone walk-in showers. Guests can also enjoy the lovely pool area with a pool-side fireplace.
Another standout feature of the hotel is the jacuzzi, which is also one of the largest in the area. It’s extremely popular with guests throughout the year. A huge spa, fitness center, games room, and onsite dining options are other amenities that you can look forward to at the Four Seasons, Vail.
Austria Haus Hotel

Austria Haus with its prime location in Vail Village square close to the Vista Bahn ski lift makes it highly popular with skiers. It’s less than a five-minute walk to the ski lift from here so it’s an extremely convenient location for those interested in the slopes. The hotel is pretty small compared to the other hotels in the region with only 25 rooms.
It’s a no-frills kind of place perfect for resting your head. However, since the hotel is managed by the same company that looks after The Lodge at Vail, guests from Austria Haus can use the amenities of the lodge which is about 100 yards away. The historic Austrian-style building has the feel of a mountain lodge with a European twist. Spacious, comfortable guest rooms feature tasteful decor and furnishings. Some rooms have balconies with great views of the mountain or the Gore Stream.
