Let’s kick off this list with the fabulous Swissotel Nankai Osaka. Located right in the heart of Namba, it gave us the perfect balance of being close to the action while still providing a calm and professional environment. We were only a short stroll from Dotonbori, meaning the vibrant nightlife and incredible street food were never too far. It’s worth noting that the Swissotel is the largest hotel in the area, which speaks to its capacity and range of facilities.

For our specific needs, the meeting facilities were great. We utilized the Hanagiri meeting room on the 7th floor for a series of mid-sized meetings with around 10 attendees. It was perfectly suited for our group. There are similar rooms available on the 7th and 8th floors, which is great to know for future events.

Beyond the business side of things, the Swissotel Nankai didn’t disappoint. Having access to a pool, gym, and spa was a welcome bonus, allowing us to unwind after hours of meetings. In addition, the hotel also boasts 6 restaurants.

The New Osaka Hotel, despite its name, isn’t exactly new. This hotel has been around since 1978 and has hosted over 3.5 million guests. No wonder we immediately sensed its established presence and experience when we first arrived. While the area around Shin-Osaka has developed significantly since then, the New Osaka Hotel seems to have maintained its position as a reliable option.

Our primary reason for choosing this hotel, beyond the history, was the availability of meeting space. We needed a venue for a small training session, and it offered the perfect meeting and banquet rooms. The biggest, the Yodo banquet hall, can even accommodate up to 180 people.

Now, let’s talk about location. Being a mere 30-second walk from Exit 7 of the Shin-Osaka Station (Midosuji Subway Line) was a huge advantage. Seriously, you can’t beat that for easy access to the city. Even getting to the JR Shin-Osaka Station was a breeze, just a quick 3-minute walk from the 1st-floor exit.

voco Osaka Central by IHG

The voco Osaka Central by IHG is a striking new landmark in the Kyomachibori area. The hotel does a fantastic job of blending the area’s history with modern design. The iconic spiral staircase is a showstopper, and the incorporation of the old wooden beams from the previous building is a thoughtful nod to the past.

For our meetings, the second-floor meeting room was all we needed. Natural light streamed in, creating a productive and pleasant atmosphere. All the necessary AV equipment was readily available, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough for our team. The room comfortably accommodated our group of 16, and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating in helping us arrange everything, from the meeting setup to catering. They really took the stress out of planning.

When we weren’t in meetings, we made use of the hotel’s amenities. We loved working out at the gym and taking a break at the Cafe & Bar on the first floor.

Zentis Osaka

The Zentis Osaka is one of those hotels that effortlessly blend comfort and convenience. Our stay at the hotel ticked those boxes. Located in the Dojimahama neighborhood, we were away from the crowds but still close enough to the action. We also appreciated the proximity to some great bars – we even ventured out to Bar Juniper, the G&T specialist, and it was a fantastic experience. This area is giving Dotonbori a run for its money when it comes to Osaka nightlife.

The Zentis itself has a really interesting vibe. It was built with the 2020 Olympics in mind, and that modern, clean aesthetic shines through. It felt more European than traditional Japanese, which was a refreshing change of pace. We found the design to be uncluttered and very conducive to working.

Speaking of working, the Guest Lounge was better than we expected. The communal table, crafted from a beautiful Japanese cypress, was the perfect spot to catch up on emails and prepare for meetings. Moreover, the complimentary coffee and tea were a great perk, especially during those long workdays. For a more focused brainstorming session, we made good use of Room 001, with its impressive library – a truly inspiring space.

It’s just a stroll away from both Osaka and Umeda stations. We had meetings scattered across different districts, and this helped us a lot. We also appreciated being so close to the tech district.

Moreover, we were impressed with the event facilities. While our group wasn’t quite large enough to fill the ballroom (which can hold up to 1,000 people), we did utilize some of the smaller meeting rooms. We had 17 different rooms to choose from, along with the extensive event space. The multi-lingual event staff were also incredibly helpful, and the catering and A/V technology were top-notch.

Additionally, we also enjoyed the hotel’s ambiance. The décor, a blend of Western and Japanese styles, was tastefully done in both the lobby and our guest rooms. Of course, we also made use of the generously sized 24/7 gym as well as the swimming pool.

Best Service. If you don’t mind splurging and want to stay at the most lavish hotel, consider The Ritz-Carlton Osaka. Staying here, we were just a short walk from Osaka train station, which made navigating the city a breeze. We also loved the proximity to attractions like the National Museum of Art. Better yet, the view of Osaka Bay from the hotel was also quite impressive.

What stood out for us, though, was the hotel’s focus on business travelers. We were hosting a small conference, and the meeting facilities were top-notch. The elegant design, with its antique prints, marble floors, and expansive windows, created a sophisticated and professional atmosphere. We utilized several of the event spaces across the three levels, and they were perfectly suited for our various needs. The biggest one can even host up to 1,500 people.

The hotel’s events team was also invaluable. They were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the entire planning process. From coordinating catering and audiovisual services to assisting with venue design and even arranging transportation for our group, they took care of every detail. This level of personalized service really made our lives easier and ensured our conference ran smoothly.

Best Accessibility. When it comes to accessibility, it’s hard to beat the Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station. Being directly connected to Shin-Osaka Station, a major bullet train hub, gave us a big advantage. We were zipping to Kyoto in just 15 minutes and even managed a quick trip to Kobe for some famous steak in just 13 minutes!

During our stay, we also utilized the hotel’s meeting facilities. We had a smaller group, and the event rooms were perfectly adequate. We used one of the three rooms available, and it comfortably accommodated our team. The fact that it was so close to the station was a bonus for our attendees, too. Moreover, high-speed Wi-Fi and modern AV equipment were essential for our presentations, and everything worked seamlessly.

What really made the location even better was the sheer abundance of dining options right outside the hotel in Shin-Osaka Station. While the hotel has restaurants and a pub, having dozens of other choices at our fingertips was fantastic.

There are many great Osaka business hotels, but the Hotel New Otani Osaka stands out with its location. This modern hotel is less than a mile from the majestic Osaka Castle. We were captivated by the stunning views of the castle and the Daini Neya River, especially during cherry blossom season when the grounds turned into a pink paradise.

As business travelers, however, we were particularly impressed with the hotel’s extensive meeting and event facilities. The variety of ballrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces allowed us to find the perfect setting for our meetings. The flexibility to adjust the size and layout of the function rooms was also a great advantage.

The hotel’s impressive array of dining options was also a huge plus for us. With 15 restaurants to choose from, we were spoiled! Many of these restaurants offer breathtaking views of the castle, making dining a truly memorable experience.

W Osaka

Most Modern. Our recent business trip to Osaka had us checking into the W Osaka, and it made quite the impression. Dominating Midosuji Boulevard as it does, the striking black skyscraper sets a tone. It’s a bold statement, and the inside follows suit. Forget subtle – the interiors are a vibrant explosion of neon. Even the closets had these cool, splashy illustrations of the Osaka skyline. It’s certainly a design-forward hotel.

For our meetings and conferences, the W Osaka was a fantastic choice. Style and substance were definitely on point. The event spaces were exceptionally modern and allowed us to really customize our sessions. We had a large group, and the 6,296 sq ft of space, including the Great Room and the three meeting rooms, gave us plenty of flexibility. It helped make our events more impactful.

Beyond the work aspect, the W Osaka offered some great ways to unwind as well. We appreciated the chance to create our own cocktails at the MixBar. And after long days, the Away Spa was our go-to for relaxation. The fact that it even has its own bar? Genius!

Imperial Hotel Osaka

Best Views. While many colleagues were battling crowds in Kyoto for hanami season, we found a tranquil oasis right here in Osaka. The Imperial Hotel Osaka‘s location on the banks of the O River was simply stunning. We were surrounded by hundreds of cherry trees in full bloom, making our morning walks and even just looking out the window a truly beautiful experience.

As business travelers, certain amenities are crucial, but we were able to rely on the Imperial. The Business Center on the first floor was a real asset. Having access to computers, printers, and that crucial first hour of free Wi-Fi was incredibly helpful for us. We also appreciated the option of booking the conference room for a small meeting we had. It comfortably accommodated our group of 10.

While the hotel isn’t exactly in the thick of Osaka’s main tourist attractions, we didn’t find it to be a major drawback. With 7 restaurants and 2 bars on-site, we were spoiled for choice when it came to dining after a long day of meetings. Plus, the complimentary shuttle service to the train station made getting around the city relatively easy when we decided to explore.

Best Location. When it comes to location, it’s hard to beat Conrad Osaka. Being less than a mile from Umeda, the heart of Osaka’s business district, made getting to our meetings incredibly convenient. The fact that it’s directly connected to Watanabebashi Station was another perk, and the quick drive to Osaka International Airport on our departure day was a welcome relief. Logistics are always a big concern on business trips, and the Conrad Osaka really nailed it.

We also utilized the hotel’s meeting facilities. Our initial smaller meeting of 12 people in the boardroom was a success. It was a very professional and well-equipped space. We also used one of the larger meeting rooms for a bigger session with about 60 attendees, and the flexibility to combine multiple rooms would have been useful if we needed even more space. There’s also a ballroom and an atrium for larger events.

The heart of the hotel, though, is the 40th-floor lobby. The panoramic city views were breathtaking – you could see for miles in every direction. It made it hard to resist popping into the 40 Sky Bar and Lounge for a drink (or two)!
