The Canyon Motel & RV Park
11
The Canyon Motel & RV Park is a unique and charming option right off Route 66. Nestled in a pine forest, this place felt like a world away from the usual roadside chains. The highlight of this accommodation was its location. It took us only minutes to reach the Grand Canyon Railway and Bearizona Wildlife Park, making exploring the area convenient.
Another thing that we found interesting was the accommodation options. The motel has rooms in converted railway cars and cabooses! They were cool options for those wanting a more quirky experience. Of course, we had to experience it ourselves. So, we chose one of the railcars and spent a night there. Inside, you’ll find a bunk bed, a double bed, a small fridge, and everything else you’ll need.
Furthermore, the property also has a great vibe. There’s a heated seasonal indoor pool, a handy laundry room, and a convenience store for those last-minute travel essentials. The motel also has a lovely garden patio and an RV park, making it a great option for different types of travelers.

This hotel is conveniently located just off Route 89A, making it easy for us to get to nearby attractions. Places like the Little Hollywood Land are only a mile away, and the Kanab Zip Line is only 3 miles away from the hotel.

Considered one of the best bang-for-the-buck accommodations on Mother Road is the Historic Route 66 Motel. With countless amazing reviews, we had high expectations about this motel, and they were all met. We booked the Standard Queen Room, and it was great. The first thing that caught our attention was the teal walls. Along with the wall decor and wooden accents, it had this retro vibe that we liked. Though not the biggest, it was comfy and had everything we needed.
The bathroom was spotless, and whatever toiletries we needed, we could find there, which was a huge plus. Not to mention, our room had a cute little view of the town. It was certainly a highlight for us. Imagine waking up to that view every single morning. Perfect!
Aside from that, we also have to praise the staff members. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful, giving us some great recommendations on what to see and do in Seligman. They definitely made our stay much more convenient and enjoyable.

Best Boutique. Only over an hour’s drive from the North Rim is the Canyons Boutique Hotel – A Canyons Collection Property. As the only boutique hotel in Kanab, it sure didn’t disappoint. We were impressed by the beautiful decor and welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The rooms lived up to the hype as well. They were well-appointed, with plush beds, super comfy towels, and all the essentials you could need. Some rooms even have a fireplace or a large jetted spa tub for those who like to indulge. Oh, there’s an outdoor pool, too.
Speaking of unwinding, let’s talk breakfast! While it wasn’t included in our base rate, they offered a delicious, full hot and cold breakfast buffet. The menu changes daily and features locally sourced ingredients. They have the basics like scrambled eggs, bacon, and even a daily rotating specialty dish. They don’t skimp on the drinks either, with fresh fruit juices, coffee, and tea all on offer.
But what truly sets Canyons Boutique Hotel apart is its location. Situated in Kanab, it’s the perfect base camp for exploring all the incredible sights of southern Utah. Only an hour-and-a-half’s drive from the Grand Canyon is the Americana Motor Hotel. Though set a bit outside of the center of Flagstaff, that wasn’t a problem at all. The hotel itself was great, and we had a blast. It was like a modern take on a classic Route 66 motel.
