When I think of Greece, all I can think of is the utterly romantic and blissed-out sojourn that my partner and I enjoyed at Dana Villa and Infinity Suites. This gorgeously upscale cave hotel is tucked in a serene nook in the village of Firostefani on the island of Santorini, Greece. The secluded village, which sits on the road connecting the towns of Oia and Fira, is the perfect romantic retreat. And Dana Villas, with stupendous views over the volcanoes, mountains, and the Aegean Sea, is the ideal romantic nest here.

Great choices for rooms for a romantic getaway
Did you know that this tiny 30-something-room hotel has hosted more than 3,000 weddings in the past 20 years? Yes! So, it only made sense for us to try out the lovely Honeymoon Pool Suite – especially since we were on our anniversary! The highlight of our room was the heated outdoor plunge pool leading to an indoor cave plunge pool. What’s more, we could access the indoor one even from our shower cabins!
Since our suite lay on the highest part of the property, we enjoyed sweeping and unobstructed views of the island, the caldera bay, and Santorini’s mesmerizing sunsets. After all, Santorini is one of the world’s most spectacular sunset locations. One tip to note is that these suites are accessible only via steps, given their seclusion and location.

The all-white bedroom is primed for a romantic, intimate stay
We’re absolute lovers of all-white decor, and it was as if the bedroom of the Honeymoon Pool Suite was made for us. It’s part of the island’s Cycladic-style architecture but with modern amenities such as a flatscreen TV and contemporary and minimalistic light fixtures that complement the room vibe. On a lazy day, we’d enjoy swimming in the plunge pool before plopping down on the uber-soft bed and enjoying the views from the balcony. Mornings were reserved for coffee out on the balcony, with mesmerizing views of the Aegean Sea.
On the other side, a cozy loveseat with cushions was the perfect place for us to curl up with glasses of wine. Topping everything off was the sleek, black-tiled bathroom with a rain shower and bespoke bath amenities. It surely added a touch of luxury to our stay at Dana Villa and Infinity Suites.

The perfect place to experience the famous Greek hospitality
One of the highlights of our romantic stay was the unending amazing hospitality of the staff here. As soon as we arrived, they offered us drinks even before we checked in. They not only made the room ready for us early but even left balloons and a note for us in the rooms since we were on our honeymoon! What’s more, when we sat by the infinity pool one entire day enjoying each other’s company, they helped us with drinks, food, towels, and whatnot. Furthermore, they even arranged a romantic dinner for us on the terrace and gladly took amazing pictures of me and my partner! The best bit? We opted to have a floating breakfast in our suite one day, and they arranged everything from hot to cold items and even drinks. It was such a great experience that we came back with memories of a lifetime.

Romantic dining experiences
It’s hard to make us stay away when it comes to good food. And that’s exactly why we loved Hotel Dana Villas & Infinity Suites. They’re home to the amazing Orkos Restaurant, which sits on the edge of the dramatic Caldera cliff. They arranged for us to enjoy a candlelit dinner here, complete with a five-course set menu of Mediterranean and Greek flavors. That, along with unobstructed volcano sunset views, chill-out tunes in the background, and excellent service by the staff, only made us enjoy each other’s company all the more. We were even treated to cool wines and aromatic Santorini wines. This is one different gastronomic adventure that we both will always treasure.

Soma Spa Experience
Our romance touched new heights at Hotel Dana Villas & Infinity Suites in the form of the brand-new signature Soma Spa. This wonderful subterranean space rejuvenated our mind, body, and soul and has on offer a range of rich therapies with a Greek twist. We enjoyed the unique and bespoke “Soma Spa Experience” customized to us by combining three unique couples therapies. The package included two full-body holistic massages, two express full-body scrubs, and two express face treatments. If that wasn’t enough, we even used the hot tub for 20 minutes while enjoying a fruit bottle and a bottle of prosecco as part of the package.
