Central location
Let us begin by praising Hilton San Francisco Union Square‘s location. Being just a stone’s throw away from Union Square, we were immersed in the center of the city. Everything the Bay Area has to offer is just moments away, and it’s not a hyperbole. Staying at this hotel, the iconic cable cars were only two blocks away, making it incredibly easy to hop on and explore different neighborhoods. Plus, having Powell Street station right there meant we could quickly and conveniently use public transportation to venture further afield.
We were also thrilled to discover that all our favorite attractions were within easy reach. The Curran Theater, the SF Museum of Modern Art, and the Moscone Convention Center were all less than a mile away. It was so great to be able to walk to these places, saving us time and money on transportation.

Wellness and meeting facilities
Did you know what’s equally impressive? The amenities at Hilton San Francisco Union Square! The hotel sure knew how to make our stay as comfortable as possible. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the heated outdoor pool. Surrounded by palm trees, there was a moment when we felt like we were on a tropical island. Aside from the pool, we also loved the whirlpool. It was our go-to spot to soothe our tired muscles.
Speaking of muscles, the Hilton Union Square Hotel in San Francisco also has an in-house gym. It’s open 24 hours and equipped with the most modern equipment you can imagine. While we didn’t have the chance to use the gym, it was nice knowing that we could easily maintain our workout routine while on the road.
That’s not all! We were also surprised by the sheer scale of the hotel’s meeting facilities. With 97 meeting rooms and a capacity for 12,000 people, it’s clear that this hotel can handle any event, big or small.
“This hotel truly blew our mind. We didn’t expect the pool to be so well-maintained and the gym to be so modern and clean.”

Skyline views
When it comes to accommodations, the Hilton San Francisco Union Square won’t disappoint you. For our trip, we chose the Skyline View Junior Suite. Being on a high floor in Tower 1, we had breathtaking city views that we couldn’t get enough of. The 495 sq ft of space felt incredibly spacious, and the king-sized bed was a luxury for us.
The studio-style suite was perfect for us, with a separate seating area where we could relax and enjoy the views. Also, have we talked about the Hilton Signature bedding and linen? They were incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies.
While we didn’t get a chance to explore the other suites, we heard amazing things about the Presidential Suite and the State & Imperial Suite. Also, we can’t imagine how incredible the Penthouse must be with its 108 sq ft wet bar! If you’re thinking of staying at the Hilton Union Square Hotel in San Francisco and don’t mind splurging, maybe you should stay at the Penthouse!

SF’s highest sky bar
Now, let’s talk about the one thing Hilton San Francisco Union Square is probably most known for. Yep, we’re talking about the Cityscape Sky Bar, the city’s highest sky bar. This place truly gave us an unforgettable experience. 46 stories above the city, we indulged in locally-inspired cocktails while taking in breathtaking 360-degree views. It was the best spot on the property to rest the mind, relax, and savor small plates with friends.
If you’re an early riser, Poached should be your go-to. Its breakfast buffet is a feast for the senses, offering everything from classic favorites to healthier options. We loved being able to customize our meals and start the day off right at Poached.
Finally, there’s The Poppy Lobby Bar. We were lucky enough to visit during its “Union Square in Bloom” theme. The handcrafted cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. A+!

Bring your pet(s)!
We were pretty happy to find that the Hilton San Francisco Union Square is pet-friendly, allowing both dogs and cats up to 75 pounds. It was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel. It’s great that it can accommodate two pets per room, which is a plus for multi-pet families. Also, for our stay, we had to pay a non-refundable pet fee of 50 USD.
Did it feel expensive? A little. However, we didn’t mind because we were allowed to leave our lovely furry friend in the room unattended. This was a huge plus for us as we were able to take a dip in the pool and enjoy drinks at the bar without worrying about him.
