Comfort Inn Rockland – Boston
10
We begin with the Comfort Inn Rockland – Boston, which is one of the best bases for those who are in the region for work. This hotel offers a lot of conveniences for business travelers, such as access to fax and copy services. Plus, it’s located very close to the Hingham Corporate Center and the Assinippi Industrial Park, making it convenient for business travelers to attend seminars and meetings. Additionally, there are other relaxation and recreational facilities as well. These include computer and TV access in the two spacious lobby areas, a spacious and relaxing library with games and books, complete with a lovely colonial-style fireplace.
We had a wide choice of spacious guest rooms, all of which came with cable TVs, coffeemakers, hair dryers, ironing boards, fridges, and microwaves. So, we could not only store leftovers but also prepare light meals in the microwave. Thanks to the guest laundry services, we were able to travel light as well. Did we mention that they also had whirlpool rooms? Yep.

Best Western Rockland

The Best Western Rockland hotel is less than a five-minute drive from the heart of South Weymouth. We liked the simple rooms and suites here, all of which featured flat-screen TVs, desks, complimentary Wi-Fi, and ensuite bathrooms with high-quality fittings and free bath products. If you want more space, upgraded rooms and suites even add pull-out sofas. Please note that the hotel doesn’t have a lift and has staircase access only.
Nestled in the picturesque suburbs of Massachusetts, this Best Western outpost has a ton of complimentary perks. Despite not having a restaurant, the hotel offered a delicious and huge breakfast spread. This full hot breakfast that’s prepared fresh daily includes a choice of hot items such as waffles and eggs, besides continental cold favorites like fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal. Thanks to the 24/7 coffee, we were also geared up and raring to go. Rounding up the amenities were the fitness center, the business center, and the free parking.

If you’re looking for a reliable and great chain hotel near South Weymouth, then look no further than DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston – Rockland. We loved the choice of rooms and suites, all of which were spacious and air-conditioned, and featured huge windows with views of the surroundings. What’s more, they all came with plush and comfy Hilton beds, coffee and tea makers, flat-screen TVs, and modern bathrooms with complimentary bath products. Additionally, there was free Wi-Fi everywhere, so we were connected throughout our stay.
The rest of the hotel lived up to its Hilton billing. Firstly, the on-site restaurant served great American fare for dinner. There were also two paid options for breakfast, the continental one and the full breakfast, both of which were free for Hilton members. Additional amenities included a mini market, a bar, and a fitness center. Did we mention the excellent room service, housekeeping, concierge service, and the 24-hour front desk? Yep.

The Inn at Scituate Harbor

If you want to stay on the coast and don’t mind staying slightly outside Weymouth, then look no further than The Inn at Scituate Harbor. Nestled in a Cape Cod–style structure overlooking the harbor, Cape Cod, and the Gulf of Maine in Scituate, this alluring hotel was perfect for our weekend stay. We loved the understated rooms and suites that featured nautical-themed accents. What’s more, they came with a whole lot of mod-cons, including fridges, flat-screen TVs, and ensuite bathrooms with complimentary bath products, and free Wi-Fi. In fact, the suite, the only one in the inn, even had a sitting and a dining area. Of course, they all came with star-studded harbor views, so what more could we ask for?
That said, we were absolutely impressed and blown away by the amenities at this beachside inn. Firstly, the heated indoor pool was fantastic, allowing us to actually enjoy swimming even when it was cold. Besides free Wi-Fi being available everywhere, they also served a fantastic complimentary continental breakfast every morning. Thanks to the free parking, we didn’t have to worry about where to park our rental. We’d especially love unwinding on the deck and patio with harbor views after a long day of sightseeing. That, along with the fact that complimentary tea and coffee are available 24/7 and the hotel offering beach passes to Scituate’s beaches made this a top-notch choice for us.

Marriott Boston Quincy

15 minutes from Weymouth Landing sits the Marriott Boston Quincy in the neighborhood town of Quincy. It might be set more inland as compared to the other hotels on this list, but it’s a Marriott outpost, and a fantastic one at that. As is with all Marriott hotels, we had the choice of many rooms and suites, including our slightly larger King Room. Not only were all rooms spacious, but they were also equipped with a slew of mod-cons. This included amenities such as plush beds, flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea makers, hairdryers, ironing facilities, and private ensuite bathrooms.
Since this is a Marriott, the amenities were nothing less than what you’d expect from a Marriott hotel in any other larger city. For one, there was a fitness center, complete with state-of-the-art workout equipment. We, however, loved the massive indoor pool area the most, as we could unwind and lounge even when the weather was cold outside. Rounding things up was the on-site signature restaurant, which served a wide range of American fare for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

Josephine’s Bed and Breakfast
5
Best B&B. Josephine’s Bed and Breakfast in Hull was born from the traditional custom of opening one’s home to travelers during the Colonial times. The setting couldn’t be more perfect: a quiet street at the end of which lay the scenic Weir River Area, with Nantasket Beach being a mere 15-minute walk away.
Host Ann Marie Kenny drew inspiration for the B&B from her fondest experiences as a kid spending summers in Weymouth with her grandma, the eponymous Josephine. She’s adept at telling tales about the region that kept us absolutely enraptured, allowing us to discover the area in a very different way. This beloved restful retreat had three rooms on offer, all of which came with private bathrooms, garden views, and kitchenettes. So, we could whip up light meals whenever we wanted. Moreover, all rooms had free Wi-Fi, work desks, air-conditioning, and soundproofing for a sound sleep at night.
“Staying at Ann’s was an amazing experience and perhaps the best way to soak in the vibe of the region!”
WOW Travel
Don’t assume there weren’t any amenities here just because it’s a B&B. In fact, there wasn’t just a terrace and a garden, but there was also a tennis court, barbecue facilities, an outdoor seating area, a coffee shop, and a lounge! If that wasn’t enough, Ann served a hearty breakfast every day while taking into account diverse meal preferences and special diets.

The Beacon Waterfront Inn

Best for couples. Overlooking the gorgeous Weir River Area in Hull, around 15 minutes from Weymouth, is The Beacon Waterfront Inn. This historic inn on the water has a traditional exterior and absolutely contemporary interiors with all modern conveniences. It’s ideal as a romantic break, as there’s a waterfront garden, relaxing common areas, and seating areas.
The romantic ambiance extends even to the digs. The rooms were all amazing, but the suites were designed keeping couples in mind. That’s because the spacious suites feature not only sea views from private balconies but also gas fireplaces and indulgent jetted tubs. Nevertheless, all rooms feature mod-cons such as coffeemakers, kettles, and ensuite bathrooms, while the suites even came with extra luxurious linens because of the spa bathtubs.
The rest of the inn was equally romantic, whether it was the sea-facing garden with the Adirondack chairs and the fire-pit or the common balconies. Despite there being no restaurant, they served breakfast every day between 7:30 and 11 am. What’s more, we could enjoy breakfast in the kitchen, in one of the private balconies, or in the indoor/outdoor common areas. Finally, the popular Nantasket Beach was a 15-minute walk away.

Nantasket Beach Hotel

Best location. The Nantasket Beach Hotel is a true-blue jewel in Hull, one of the South Shore’s most popular beach communities. It’s tucked right at the entrance to Nantasket Beach and has the most picture-postcard surroundings. Additionally, Nantasket Beach was located right across the street from our room! So, we could swim, walk, and lounge on the sand anytime we wanted to. What more could we ask for?

It’s no surprise that the highlight of this centrally located beach hotel is the stunning ocean views. We had the choice of many rooms, some of which were even pet-friendly, which came with the option of a garden view or a sea view. All of them were contemporarily decked out and were relaxed, comfy, and airy. What’s more, they all came with private baths, coffee machines, fridges, microwaves, and flat-screen TVs.
There’s a snack shop on the property that includes a variety of goodies and drinks such as candies, cookies, and chips. Additionally, they also have some healthier breakfast options, including KIND bars, cereal, oatmeal, etc. What’s more, there are many dining options nearby.

Nantasket Beach Resort

Best overall. Nantasket Beach Resort has an enviable location right on the golden sands of Nantasket Beach, right along Massachusetts Bay. With the Weir River Area right behind and the blue waters of the Massachusetts Bay right out front, there’s no reason not to love staying at this resort, which lies some 20 minutes from Weymouth Landing. We loved the choice of newly renovated, nautical-inspired rooms and suites, all of which came with spa baths. What’s more, all 107 digs had luxurious beds, high-thread-count linens, coffeemakers for gourmet beverages, high-speed Wi-Fi, microwaves, fridges, and LED TVs. Did we mention that the rooms even had free Wi-Fi and fireplaces? Yes! That’s not all; the bathrooms were decked out with bath products and Speakman showerheads!
The rest of the resort was equally impressive, especially the indoor-outdoor pool that came with a retractable glass roof. So, we could soak in the sun when we were visiting in summer, and it would turn into a usable indoor pool space during the cold Massachusetts winters. Moreover, the on-site restaurant was open for all meals on all days of the week, along with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Plus, the Surf Lounge bar featured a fantastic drinks menu.

Arbor Inn Motor Lodge

Located right next to the Abigail Adams State Park on the Weymouth Back River, the Arbor Inn Motor Lodge boasts an excellent central location. Clean, quiet, and affordable, the adults-only lodge offered comfy accommodations in the form of spacious rooms and suites. Not only were the rooms air-conditioned, but they also came with mod-cons such as TVs, carpeted floors, microwaves, fridges, and private bathrooms, and free bath products. Did we mention that the rooms also had coffeemakers? Yes!
What we loved was that the property had free Wi-Fi everywhere, even though it was a budget property. Additionally, there was even a housekeeping service, which delighted us to no end. Additional amenities included free on-site parking, which was a blessing since we were visiting Weymouth with a rental car. The best bit was that the property was a mere 20-minute walk from the beach and had hiking and cycling opportunities nearby.
