Best Location. Staying at the Grand Hôtel Moderne put us right in the heart of Lourdes. When it comes to location, this hotel is hard to beat. We were mere steps from the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and the Grotto of Our Lady. It’s no surprise, since this was the very first hotel built in town, and you can tell its proximity to the sanctuary was no accident.

The staff made our stay even more memorable. From the friendly, multilingual reception team to the smiling waiters, everyone went above and beyond. They were happy to help with everything, from printing documents to arranging trips into the Pyrenees. Meanwhile, evenings were best spent unwinding at the bar before heading to Le Majorelle, the hotel’s elegant restaurant, where delectable French and Italian dishes were served.

Our room carried the hotel’s signature red-and-gold style, which gave it a warm, classic feel. The space was larger than we expected, with a spotless marble bathroom that made the whole space even more indulgent. If you can, book a Supérieure Room.
