Better yet, it took us less than 15 minutes to walk to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

The moment we entered our room, we were immediately impressed by the thoughtful design and curated amenities. The comfortable bed, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a could-like bed made our stay perfect. If you don’t mind splurging, consider one of the bigger suites.

Best Boutique. Our stay at Hotel Bijou wasn’t disappointing. In fact, we loved it a lot. This is a truly unique boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Downtown San Francisco. Housed in a historic building with ornate architecture, this hotel offers a charming experience. The location was perfect for exploring the city. We were just a short walk away from the Powell Street BART station, making it easy to get around. Union Square, with its shops, art galleries, and eateries, was also within walking distance.

Our room was beautifully decorated with images from iconic San Francisco films, giving it a modern and movie-themed feel. The attention to detail was impressive, and we loved the touch of Hollywood glamour. The room was also equipped with all the essentials, including free Wi-Fi, a writing desk, and cable TV.

Best Decor. The Phoenix Hotel is a historic motor lodge with a cool vibe that’s been attracting the creative set for decades. During our trip, the check-in process was smooth and easy, and we loved the intimate courtyard and pool area. As soon as we entered our room, we were struck by its stylish decor and cozy atmosphere.

While the rooms are small, they’re packed with character and have all the essentials, including snacks and a coffee maker. We particularly appreciated the heated outdoor pool, a rare find in San Francisco. Meanwhile, the on-site restaurant, Chambers Eat + Drink, offered us a delicious California-inspired menu and a great ambiance.

There’s no way we don’t talk about the service. The staff were always helpful when we needed recommendations, be it for restaurants or things to do. Another thing that we loved most about the Phoenix was its pet-friendly policy, which makes it easy for you to bring your furry friends along.

Of course, we had to include the BEI San Francisco. Located in the heart of Mid-Market, this modern hotel offers a convenient base for exploring the Bay Area. Aside from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, places like the Union Square, War Memorial Court, and Asian Art Museum are all within easy reach.

One of the things we loved most about this pet-friendly hotel, though, was the variety of amenities. The hip restaurant and cafe offered delicious food and drinks, and we loved working out at the gym as well. Plus, the hotel’s meeting and event space is a great option for business travelers or those planning group gatherings.

What about the room? We stayed in the Superior King Room, and it was exactly like the pictures. It was spotless, bright, and spacious. We loved being able to enjoy the majestic views of the city through the huge windows. And if you need a bit more space for longer stays, consider the Executive King Room.

Best Overall. Among all the top hotels near Bill Graham Civic Auditorium San Francisco, the San Francisco Proper Hotel has to be the best. We were immediately drawn to the vibrant colors and eclectic decor when we arrived. The lobby was buzzing with activity and the staff was so friendly to us.

Aside from that, our room was a standout. We opted for a suite, which was a luxurious choice. This spacious suite was equipped with all the modern amenities, including a dining area, a wardrobe, and city views. The custom Bluetooth speaker and the curated mini-bar with a variety of local drinks also spoiled us. Also worth mentioning are the high-end products in the bathroom, including Aesop beauty products and Kelly Wearstler cotton kimono robes. The Proper also offers many other options, including standard rooms and unique bunk rooms.

The hotel also offered complimentary car service within a 3-mile radius, which made exploring the city a breeze for us. However, it’s important to note that this service is first-come, first-serve, so it’s best to plan.
