Sacramento is the historic and vibrant capital of the U.S. state of California, with a long and illustrious history as a Gold Rush town. So, we, as culture vultures, had tons to explore, see, and discover, including museums, historical sights and landmarks, parks, and so much more. However, we were also on a romantic getaway, so what better a way to spend the holiday than staying in hotels with jacuzzi in room in Sacramento? After all, we found the city to be extremely romantic since we’re huge history fans.
After a long day of trekking everywhere, all we wanted was a hot tub in the serenity and privacy of our room. What’s more, we found a ton of choices, ranging from luxurious to surprisingly great value hotels, and even inns and B&Bs. While some were located right in the city, others lay a short drive out, but always accessible to Sacramento. To that end, here’s a detailed guide to jacuzzi-driven digs in Sacramento.

Lake Natoma Inn
11
We begin with the romantic Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, just half an hour northeast of the city center of Sacramento. There were two choices of rooms with in-room Jacuzzis, the newly updated Superior King Room and Premium Suites, both of which boasted massive whirlpool tubs for two right in the room, in front of the King/California King Beds. What’s more, both rooms had electric and wood-burning fireplaces, with spectacular views of the River Natoma.
We loved that we were within a short drive of Sacramento, and yet away from the bustle. The tranquil, lush surroundings were the perfect antidote for our weekend getaway, especially since they were backed by amazing amenities. These included a lovely outdoor hot tub and a swimming pool, which is where we’d enjoy a swim and a lounge after a hearty breakfast at the on-site restaurant. A lovely bar with a long cocktail list wrapped up the amenities.

The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel

Best boutique hotel. The seriously stylish Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, one of the best boutique hotels in Sacramento, placed us in the lap of modern luxury right in the very heart of Sacramento. Since we love modern, urban luxury, the vibe of the hotel was perfect for us, especially since we had a choice of rooms with whirlpool and spa tubs. While the King Premium Room was a great choice, we especially loved the sleek and chic one-bedroom suite, which had a sexy geometric aesthetic and equally amazing mod-cons. The standout was the huge, deep-soaking bathtub large enough for two, which lay in its own space inside the bathroom. It might have not been in the room, but it was luxurious enough to have a sexy, dedicated space of its own that didn’t feel like the bathroom at all.
The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. The standout was how our days began: with complimentary tea/coffee in the lobby in the morning. It was followed by a huge complimentary continental breakfast, which was then topped off by the rooftop pool, where we’d swim and lounge. In fact, it happens to be one of the bst hotels with pools in Sacramento. Every evening, we’d sip aperitifs at the third-floor bar and lounge, after which we’d cozy up in front of poolside fire pits with drinks and superb views. 24/7 room service, public bikes, and three restaurant/bar options wrapped up the amenities here.

Best Western Plus Palm Court Hotel

Tucked in the suburb of Davis, where the University of California sits, the Best Western Plus Palm Court Hotel was one of the best “Best Western” properties we’ve stayed at. We chose to stay in the King Suite with the Whirlpool, which was a spacious and well decked out suite with a separate living space and a bedroom. The highlight was the deep-soaking bathtub in the entrance to the bathroom, but separate from it. Since we were on our second honeymoon, we ordered champagne and enjoyed soaking in the confines of our room to the hilt. Did we mention that our suite had a host of other mod-cons, including a balcony? Yep.
The rest of the hotel was equally amazing, especially the long list of amenities, despite being a Best Western hotel. This included an onsite restaurant where we were served a delicious breakfast everyday as well as a fitness center for those who wanted to stay active on their holiday.

Best Western Plus Orchid Hotel & Suites

We have another Best Western property on this list. This time, it’s the Best Western Plus Orchid Hotel & Suites in the northeastern suburb of Roseville, a 20-minute drive from the city center of Sacramento.
What we loved about this hotel is that it had options for many rooms with bathtubs, even if they were in the bathroom. However, since we were looking for something relaxing and special, we chose to stay in the Executive Suite with the Jetted Tub. It featured a gorgeous and huge jetted tub for two right in the room, just steps from the plush bed. What was great was that while the rest of the room was carpeted, the jetted tub sat in its own tiled space, ensuring that the rest of the room didn’t get wet from all the water dripping from the tub – and us. Not only was our suite spacious, but also, it boasted mod-cons like a flatscreen TV, coffeemaker, minibar, and plush linens.
This all-suite hotel served us free hot buffet breakfasts every morning in the private dining room, despite not having a restaurant. We especially loved the two relaxing courtyards, one of which had a sparkling outdoor pool where we’d relax after a long day of exploring the city.

Freeport Wine and Country Inn

Just 15 minutes south of Midtown Sacramento, we chanced upon the gem that was the Freeport Wine and Country Inn. We wanted to explore the wonders of Sacramento’s Delta Wine Region, and this inn was the gateway to it. In fact, the knowledgeable staff here was well-equipped with all the information we needed to explore the area, while also being able to make reservations, bookings, and fetch us tickets.
We had the choice of 10 outstanding rooms and suites, many of which came with jetted or soaking tubs with showers, either in the room or the private bathroom. What’s more, all rooms boasted Keurig coffeemakers with complimentary coffee pods, free Wi-Fi, bath products, and flatscreen TVs. We chose the best digs of them all, the queen room with the spa bath, which was a spacious room with a jetted spa bath right next to the bed. Not only did it sit on a separate tiled space but also it came with a privacy curtain. Did we mention the huge glass paned windows and lovely views of the lush surroundings? Yes!
Since we stayed the weekend, we were able to take advantage of the onsite restaurant, which is open from Friday to Sunday. They even provided hearty breakfasts, which was a lovely way to begin our days.

GlenMorey Country House B&B Inn

Most historic. We wanted to get away from the bustle of the urban city life and stay somewhere close by, but in California’s gorgeous El Dorado County. That’s why we chose the GlenMorey Country House B&B Inn in Placerville, a 20-minute drive from Midtown Sacramento. What thrilled us was that the 1859-built Morey House was built just a decade after the Gold Rush and a decade prior to the completion of the transcontinental railroad! If that wasn’t enough, it’s the third-oldest home still standing in Placerville – ever, making it a rare, historic find.
Since this was a house turned into a B&B Inn, all the gorgeous rooms differed in style and size and were individually decked out in beds with lovely linens, seating areas, and bathrooms that were as modern as they got. Many of the rooms boasted bathtubs in the ensuite bathrooms, which is a huge deal considering the age of the house. We were enthralled by the Aberdeen Room, one of the most spacious rooms we’ve ever seen in a B&B, which featured a large, curtained jetted tub right in the room, just steps from the bed. Not just that, but also the gorgeous ground-floor room even had a fireplace and a patio with alfresco seating. It was the perfect romantic nest for us.
Every morning, the wonderful hosts would serve us a full breakfast right in the comfort of our room, which we’d enjoy on our private patio. They would include tea, coffee, juice, muffins/pastries, fresh fruit, breakfast meat, and even an egg entree. If that wasn’t enough, we’d be welcomed back home in the afternoon with a plate of homemade cookies!

Eden Vale Inn

Most romantic. Another Placerville gem we found and stayed at was the Eden Vale Inn, a lavishly rustic B&B that occupied a converted turn-of-the-20th-century hay barn. This inn sat amidst lush, manicured grounds with a pond and wooden nooks. It’s where we’d enjoy long romantic walks as well as lie-ins in the hammocks sprinkled throughout. Our days began with delicious breakfast spreads served buffet style either on one of the patios, on the sun deck, on in the sunroom. What’s more, they included specialties such as oven-baked scones, pancakes, quiches, and more.
We had the choice of exceptionally plush rooms and suites, all of which featured flatscreen TVs, cloud-like beds, and gas fireplaces. What’s more, they all had lattice sliding doors leading to either sleek bathrooms or patios with private deep outdoor bathtubs. We chose the Juniper Room, a gorgeous ground-floor room which had a two-person deep soaking spa tub on a private deck, with lovely views of the gardens and alfresco seating. Our suite even had ambient lighting and a fireplace, making it a haven of romance. In fact, we took it a step further with the “Sip, Soak & Spa-aah Package,” where the staff drew us a bath and provided us with a bottle of bubbly. That’s why it’s one of the most romantic hotels in Sacramento, CA.

Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Elk Grove

The Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Elk Grove is one of the best affordable Marriott properties around, and for a good reason. We loved the spacious digs at this hotel, which were outfitted with all mod-cons such as work desks, free Wi-Fi, plush cloud-like beds, flatscreen Netflix TVs, and coffeemakers. However, there were even a few rooms with jetted tubs right in the room, such as ours! What’s more, it sat on a discrete tiled space right next to the bed, ensuring that the water wouldn’t splash all over the carpeted room and make it wet everywhere.
Did you know that this Fairfield outpost is one of the best hotels with indoor pools in Sacramento? We enjoyed long swims in and lounges by the saltwater swimming pool, after which we’d even use the hot tub. During the evenings, spending time by the barbecue and the outdoor seating area was the best thing to do. Additional amenities included the fitness center and the buffet American breakfasts served every day.

The Sterling Hotel
3
The historic Sterling Hotel sat in the corner of a pretty Downtown tree-lined street perfect for exploring Sacramento’s historic center. The 1894-built mansion-turned-boutique hotel radiated oodles of authentic Victorian charm, with the lush green surroundings only adding to the romantic atmosphere. In fact, the front porch, which was the city’s classic architectural feature, was our favorite place to read and relax on a lazy Californian afternoon. Our days would begin with complimentary breakfasts and views of the lush street in the lobby nook. There was even a cellar lounge for drinks and hors d’oeuvres when we’d return from our day of exploring the city.
However, what we loved most about this hotel was that all rooms and suites boasted in-built jacuzzi tubs. While most of the rooms had the tubs in the bathrooms, two of them had a separate room for the jetted tubs, which was neither in the bathroom nor directly in the room! However, the space was connected to them both, making it a private sauna of sorts. Moreover, our room even had a kitchenette, a separate sitting space, Wi-Fi, a flatscreen TV, a pillowtop bed, and a floor-to-ceiling marble bathroom. What more could we ask for?

Villa Arden Hills
2
Located barely 15 minutes east of Midtown Sacramento, the Villa Arden Hills, which has been voted numerous times as the best by Sacramento Magazine readers. And there are multiple reasons for that. Firstly, we have to talk about the drop-dead gorgeous digs, as we had the choice of just five beautiful bedrooms. So, staying here felt very intimate and exclusive, aside from romantic. What’s more, all the suites boasted in-room therapeutic bath/jetted tubs, either in the room or in the bathroom, with the Valencia and Capri Garden Suite boasted jetted tubs right within the rooms!
We loved our utterly spacious Valencia Suite, a massive space with a plush king bed, a seating area with a fireplace at the bottom of it, and a lovely jetted tub in a nook right next to it. Since there was no wall next to the tub, it didn’t feel claustrophobic or small, and the staff would even arrange for romantic baths with champagne et al for us. It was luxurious to the hilt.
What we loved was that with our reservation we enjoyed complimentary access to the adjacent luxury athletic LifeTime Resort. These included amenities like spacious fitness centers and multiple outdoor pools for lap swims and relaxation.

The Inn & Spa at Parkside
1
Best overall. Nestled in a lovely former 1930s-built Mediterranean home, the Inn & Spa at Parkside was our personal favorite romantic nest of a B&B in Sacramento. Since it was located right next to Southside Park, we could enjoy verdant views from practically everywhere in the property. That, along with the heart of Midtown location, had us sold.
“Romance with a jetted in-room tub in the middle of Sacramento was a dream come true for us!”
WOW Travel
However, what really drew us to this luxurious B&B was the choice of stays: there were rooms with jacuzzi tubs or balconies. In fact, the Serenity Spa Suite we chose not only had a balcony but even came with a jetted jacuzzi right in the room! Not just that, but also the staff helped set up a romantic bath as well as breakfast on the balcony for us.
The rest of the B&B was equally romantic, with our favorite place being The Spa at Parkside in the basement. It offered a gamut of treatments, including an indulgent couples’ massage which we enjoyed, and a sauna. If that wasn’t enough, the B&B even served complimentary multi-course breakfasts everyday, despite not having an onsite restaurant.

Where to Stay in Sacramento?
The fast-growing Californian capital city is as charming as it is massive, even if it’s not as large as other state capitals. So, we had to decide where to stay keeping in mind what all we wanted to do.
For those who’re visiting the city for the first time, we highly recommend staying in Midtown Sacramento, which was located just to the east of Downtown. The neighborhood was the epicenter of Sacramento’s cultural, music, and art scene, with a vibe ideal for couples like us, and even cultural nuts and first-time visitors. If that wasn’t enough, this lively and hip neighborhood boasted a wide range of dining and staying options, including ones on this list.
Secondly, there’s the Old Town Sacramento, which is the heart of the city and primed for history and culture buffs like us. Also known as “Old Sac,” this historic district was, undoubtedly, the most exciting area of the city for us. Moreover, it was home to numerous 19th-century buildings, structures, historic sites, and museums. Of course, who can forget Downtown Sacramento, the business district and the epicenter of all the city’s hustle-and-bustle culture? It’s also a shopping paradise and is famously home to the largest shopping center in all of California. Rounding things out are the regions that lie just outside the city, such as San Joaquin County, El Dorado County, and the Napa Valley.
