The Laureate Key West
11
We weren’t expecting much when we booked our stay at The Laureate Key West. Located in the less glamorous New Town area, far removed from Key West’s vibrant Duval Street, it promised more of a residential vibe than a tropical getaway. But we were surprised by what we found. First, our suite was flawless. The modern decor, complete with soothing blues and whites, created a calming atmosphere. We loved the spacious layout, with a separate living area and a full kitchen that felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. The king-sized bed was pure indulgence, and the bathroom was a spa-like retreat.
The hotel also has a clean, fresh look, with the lobby’s white-washed floors and pops of pink adding a cheerful touch. The pool area, though overlooking the busy Roosevelt Boulevard, offered a relaxing escape. We appreciated the residential-style access to our suite, which felt private and convenient. And considering the price, this hotel can be a great option for those who want a quiet stay at an affordable price.

Hampton Inn Key West FL

Another great addition to this list is the Hampton Inn Key West FL. We loved staying here as we were right across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. It was also super convenient being less than a mile from the airport and the iconic Smathers Beach. Aside from the location, the amenities of this hotel are worth praising too. The pool was our favorite place to cool down, and the open-air bar with its thatched roof was our go-to spot to grab a drink and enjoy the Key West sunshine. We also took advantage of the free area shuttle, which made getting around a breeze.
For our stay, we ended up with the King Room with a pool view. it was as cozy as it could get. We appreciated the comfy bed, flat-screen TV, and the little extras like the mini-fridge and coffeemaker. We were also lucky enough to get our room as it came with a private balcony. Our experience here was amazing.

Casa Marina Key West

When it comes to pampering, the Casa Marina Key West surely won’t disappoint. This iconic Art Deco gem, with its storied past hosting luminaries like Hemingway and Mirren, exudes a charm that’s hard to match. The moment we arrived, we felt transported back to a golden era of glamour. Beyond that charm, the hotel also offers top-notch amenities. The two pools offered plenty of chances for relaxation, complete with attentive service. And when we craved some extra pampering, the spa was a welcome escape. We loved the option of indoor or outdoor treatments. Plus, with four dining options including an alfresco bar and grill, we never had to wander far for delicious bites.
While the rooms are more understated than opulent, most boast breathtaking ocean views that make up for the simpler decor. But the real star of the show is the sprawling private beach – the largest in Key West, no less! Picture perfect days lounging in the sun, cooled by eucalyptus-infused towels and the occasional popsicle treat.

Overlooking its marina in the heart of Old Town Key West, the Galleon Resort and Marina was pure paradise. The modern vibe mixed perfectly with the classic Key West charm. Our King Studio was a cozy haven with all the essentials – microwave, coffeemaker, fridge, and of course, free Wi-Fi. We were particularly impressed with the attention to detail. We can only imagine the luxury of their penthouses!
What’s more, this resort is an oasis. We spent most of our spare time lounging by the waterfront pool and soaking up the sun. The private beach was a delightful surprise, and the observation deck offered breathtaking 360-degree views. For those who prefer indoor activities, the sauna and exercise room were great additions. If you want to stay here, dining at the outdoor restaurant by the marina is a must. We enjoyed delicious meals while taking in the vibrant atmosphere. And let’s not forget the poolside tiki bar with its live music. It was our go-to spot to unwind with a tropical drink.

The Reach Key West

Best Private Beach. We loved the location of The Reach Key West! It’s right where the action starts on Duval Street, with all the restaurants, shops, and bars just a stone’s throw away. And let’s not forget the Southernmost Point, which is just a two-minute walk. Another huge plus for us was the private beach. The private pier was a nice touch too. We wished we’d kept our golf cart rental, especially with the hotel’s free valet service – such a perk!
Our room was pretty standard fare – nothing to write home about. It did have a balcony, which was nice. But the real stars of the show were the restaurant and cafe. We were obsessed with their La Colombe coffee, both brewed and canned. The restaurant had delicious food and amazing cocktails right on the beach. And their key lime pie? To die for! The Reach has all the basics covered: a gym, business center, pool, and plenty of beach chairs and towels.
