Beachside convenience
Not many can compete with the Margaritaville Beach House. It was the perfect launching point for our Key West adventure. Sure, we might not have needed a treasure map, but the complimentary airport shuttle saved us some stress. The location is ideal. It’s right by the biggest beach on the island and a short distance from the lively Old Town. Wow!
While we were there, we would spend our days soaking up the sun on Smathers Beach, just steps from the hotel, and exploring the historic streets and vibrant nightlife of Duval Street, a quick shuttle ride away. Plus, the fact that the shuttle runs hourly between 6 AM and 10 PM made it super convenient to get around without needing to rent a car.
Even though Margaritaville Beach House offered a relaxed, luxurious vibe, we never felt stuck at the hotel. Key West’s must-see attractions, like the Ernest Hemingway Home and the Key West Aquarium, were just a short drive away. Ocean-facing suite
No matter how discerning you are, you’ll be blown away by the rooms at Margaritaville Beach House. The hotel makes sure it takes everyone’s stay to the next level of comfort. While there were so many options to choose from, we decided to pamper ourselves by booking the one-bedroom suite, which felt like a luxurious island escape.
The highlight was the spacious living and dining area. We were able to relax comfortably after exploring Key West. We loved having a fully equipped kitchenette too – it was ideal for whipping up light meals or late-night snacks. And the oversized bathroom? It was better than we imagined!
But the real showstopper was the private balcony overlooking the ocean. Waking up to that view every morning and enjoying a drink there later in the evenings completely set the mood for our relaxing getaway.

Drink and chill
Nod if you agree that delicious food and drinks are key to a perfect vacation! Margaritaville Beach House delivers on that front with its island-inspired options at Tin Cup Chalice Bar & Chill. It was the perfect spot for us to get into that tropical state of mind. The menu had something for everyone. We loved the idea of fresh seafood, casual bites, and American-Caribbean dishes – all with a Southern twist. A little tip: make sure to order the Fish Tacos and Angus Skirt Steak!
But Tin Cup Chalice Bar & Chill isn’t just about the food. This place also even has fun activities like the exciting Shut the Box game. Have fun with your loved ones! For a lighter option, the lobby offered us fruit-infused water and freshly baked cookies in the afternoons. It was the perfect way to cool down and recharge after spending the whole day at the beach.

Fun without leaving the hotel
With Smathers Beach just steps away, there’s no need for Margaritaville Beach House to offer the extras. Yet, it still does. We were genuinely surprised by the recreation options at the hotel. We’re not gym rats, but we’re aware of how important it is to stay fit to be able to travel. So, visiting the 24/7 Fins Up Fitness Center was mandatory for us.
Additionally, the Margaritaville Hotel in Key West also boasts a lagoon-style pool. It looked amazing, with comfy cabana day beds and plenty of lounge chairs for those tanning sessions. Make sure to make a splash! Also, can we talk about the poolside treats? The hotel offers free blended fruit smoothie samples at noon and popsicles at 2 PM. It’s those little touches that made our stay special.
“Though the beach was nearby, we also enjoy dipping in the pool. It’s definitely the heart of the hotel.”
