Excelsior Hotel Gallia
11
Kicking off this list is the Excelsior Hotel Gallia. This hotel is housed in a stunning Liberty-style structure that dates back to 1932. It’s not just a historic hotel, though, but also one strategically located. Staying here, we were a mere three-minute walk from Milano Centrale, which made arriving and departing a breeze.
We opted for one of their Signature Suites, and it was breathtaking. The design is a true celebration of Milan’s aesthetic, with inspiration drawn from icons like Gio Ponti and Castiglioni. We could instantly tell they’ve spared no expense, with a seamless blend of handcrafted and modern furnishings from renowned Italian ateliers like B&B Italia, Cassina, Fendi Casa, and Flos.
The heart of the hotel, though, is the Shiseido Spa Milan. It’s massive, spanning nearly 11,000 sq ft across the top two floors. We indulged in a few relaxing treatments, took a dip in the pool, and even got in a workout. The views from up there are incredible. However, we have to admit that the virtual golf experience almost stole the show. Who could resist the chance to play 24 of the world’s best courses without leaving the hotel?

The Armani Hotel Milano is another special, luxury hotel in Milan, Italy. First, it’s strategically located in the heart of the Brera district. Yep, we were only a short stroll away from places like the Duomo, La Scala, and of course, Via Montenapoleone. If you’re a fashion enthusiast, you’ll definitely love its location.
As expected, our room was modern and elegant. One of the things that impressed us the most was the in-room iPad that controlled everything. Talk about convenience! Aside from that, the complimentary minibar was also a welcome treat, stocked with juices, sodas, and snacks.
However, what truly set this hotel apart was the personalized service. We were assigned a lifestyle manager upon check-in, and they were absolutely fantastic. They anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, and helped us seamlessly coordinate our itinerary. Needless to say, it made our trip so much smoother.

Best Restaurant. The Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa is another luxury hotel in Milan Italy that deserves your attention. The hotel first welcomed guests in September 2013, and ever since, it has been a favorite among travelers. One of the main reasons why we decided to stay here was because of its location. We were right in Milan’s fashion district!
Besides that, our suite was something else. We had a lovely private balcony, which was our go-to spot every morning. On top of that, the space and light in the living area were remarkable. What about the bathroom? Let’s just say it’s super luxurious.
Of course, a major highlight was dining at their 2-star Michelin restaurant. Knowing Chef Carlo Cracco, one of Italy’s culinary stars, was behind the menu, our expectations were high. Thankfully, they were exceeded. The local specialties and innovative dishes were exceptional.

First, let’s talk about the location. It’s tucked right next to Via Montenapoleone, putting you in the heart of Milan’s luxury shopping district, which, for us, was a perfect starting point for exploring.
Our room? Lavish! Spacious doesn’t even begin to describe it. Furthermore, it overlooked Bulgari’s private garden and the Botanical Gardens. It was a magical experience. The blend of modern design with all the high-tech features we could ask for was seamless.
After a long day of navigating Milan’s fashion scene, we sought refuge in the spa. The indoor swimming pool, surrounded by stunning glass mosaics was relaxing. The special lighting effects really enhanced the serene atmosphere. Of course, we couldn’t resist spending some time in the hotel’s bar and restaurant. The bar, opening onto the gardens, was one of our favorite spots on the property.

Nestled between the vibrant Corso Venezia and the chic Via Sant’Andrea, Portrain Milano allowed us to be in the heart of Milan’s urban energy. Milano Centrale being just a short walk away was also a plus, and the hotel also offered us a transfer for three people to get there.
We opted for the Studio Deluxe Garden View, and it was the best option for us. The views were enchanting, and the room provided a peaceful retreat. But if you’re looking for something truly opulent, the suites are the way to go. Expect floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms and spacious walk-in wardrobes.
Now, let’s talk about the wellness center. After a day exploring the city, we were eager to unwind, and the hotel’s wellness facilities were a haven of tranquility. We indulged in a massage, and the menu was impressively comprehensive. Whether you need a focused back and neck treatment or a full-body experience, they have you covered.

Casa Cipriani Milano

Up next is the Casa Cipriani Milano. From the moment we arrived at the corner of Via Palestro and Corso Venezia, just a stone’s throw from the Quadrilatero della Moda, we knew this was something special. Being a mere minute’s walk from GAM Milano was a delightful bonus for our art-loving selves.
Our room honestly felt like a first-class cabin. Think polished mahogany, gleaming marble, and Murano glass. Honestly, though, we couldn’t take our eyes off those statement Cipriani sofas with the white piping, especially in the Signature suites. They’re truly something else.
Also, did you know that Casa Cipriani Milano is Milan’s first member’s club? As hotel guests, we enjoyed full access to the members’ areas, which was a real treat. The butler service was impeccable, and we definitely appreciated the well-equipped gym and the serene spa. And, of course, the free Wi-Fi was a welcome convenience.

Sina The Gray

Another fantastic addition to this list of the best Milan 5 star luxury hotels is Sina The Gray. This hotel is perfectly situated in Duomo. During our stay, we were quite literally in the middle of it all. On top of that, we were also only a 10-minute taxi from Milano Centrale. It was everything we wanted as we loved hopping on trains and exploring Europe.
If you’re like us, and you crave a bit of extravagance, the Gallery rooms are where it’s at. That view of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele was gorgeous. And let’s not forget that round Jacuzzi with the built-in TV. It was pure indulgence. However, for those who are dedicated to their fitness, the Junior Suite with its small, private gym is a great choice.
Then there’s Le Noir, the hotel’s restaurant. When we first arrived, we were captivated by the chic, black-lacquered aesthetic. Moreover, the food lived up to the hype. Expect creative Mediterranean dishes, beautifully presented. We enjoyed the delicate fish, the hearty meat, and the seasonal vegetables.

Magna Pars l’Hotel à Parfum

Nestled in the heart of the Tortona district, Magna Pars l’Hotel à Parfum is one of Milan’s best hidden gems. Walking down Via Forcella, a quiet side street, we were in love with the tranquility, a welcome respite from the bustling city. What made it even more special was knowing this wasn’t just any luxury hotel; it was owned by a family of perfumers.
For the best experience, you’ll want to stay in the Presidential Suite. The double-height ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the courtyard treetops are breathtaking. The layout, with the bedroom overlooking the living room below, creates a sense of spaciousness and grandeur.
During our stay, we also pampered ourselves at the spa. We loved the steam room and chromotherapy shower. But the highlight was the massage, which used in-house oils. Speaking of which, the owners have also produced scents for big brands like Bulgari and Trussardi. Amazing, right?

Hotel VIU Milan

Best Rooftop Pool. We were lucky enough to be able to spend a night at Hotel VIU Milan, and we had a blast. This hotel is located near the trendy Isola and Porta Garibaldi districts. We were only a 10-minute stroll from Sempione Park, which allowed us to have a refreshing morning walk. On top of that, the Monumentale metro stop was so close.
Stepping into our Terrace King Deluxe Room, we were immediately in awe of the sophisticated design. The floor-to-ceiling windows really opened up the space and let in so much natural light. The highlight, though, was the terrace. It was the perfect spot for a private apéritif as the sun went down.
However, this boutique hotel in Milan is most known for its rooftop pool. In fact, it’s the city’s first-ever hotel rooftop pool! It’s exactly as Instagrammable as everyone says. We spent a good amount of time lounging by the pool, soaking up the Milanese sun. Aside from that, we also treated ourselves to some time in the spa, and we were not disappointed. We tried a massage, and it was heavenly.
“Once we witnessed the rooftop views, we immediately knew we picked the right hotel for our stay.”

Most Artistic. We also recommend checking out Galleria Vik Milano. Built in 1877, this stone-walled arcade is a true Milanese icon. The palatial proportions, the intricate mosaic floors, and that breathtaking, soaring glass roof were incredible. We found ourselves constantly looking up, taking it all in.
Every room at this hotel is unique. Some rooms boast vibrant paintwork and striking details, while the rest are more minimalist and low-key. For our stay, we booked the Palace Room. It featured double-height ceilings and huge windows overlooking the Galleria.
Of course, we couldn’t resist dining at Vikissimo. Overlooking the heart of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the views were stunning. It felt like we were in the middle of a postcard. The food was just what we wanted – hearty, delicious Italian cuisine. It was the ideal spot for a memorable Milanese meal.

Best Overall. For a truly special stay, you’ll want to spend your nights at Hotel Principe Di Savoia. This hotel has been a favorite among travelers since the 1920s. The combination of classic elegance and cutting-edge technology is truly impressive. It’s like stepping back in time, but with all the comforts and conveniences of the present.
Our room, the Ambassador Suite, was simply breathtaking. We’d seen pictures, but they didn’t quite capture the sheer scale of it. The 19th-century Lombard design, with its warm and cozy atmosphere, was inviting. The soundproof walls were amazing, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay. And, of course, the champagne welcome was something we really appreciated.
One of the highlights of our stay was the Hotel Principe di Savoia Spa. It’s undoubtedly one of the best and largest in Milan. We indulged in some much-needed pampering, and the personalized treatments were exceptional. The facilities themselves were top-notch – the heated swimming pool, gym, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, and solarium offered everything we could have asked for.
