Ah, Anna. Savannah, also lovingly called Vana, Sava, Vannah, and, of course, Anna, is most well-known for its gorgeous and iconic live oak trees bedecked in Spanish moss. This welcoming gem on the eastern end of the state of Georgia looks exactly how we’d imagined it – laidback, visually stunning, romantic, and historic all at once. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, we decided to look for a Savannah, GA, hotel with jacuzzi in room. And boy, were we surprised at the sheer number of options that popped up or what. Our enticing choices ranged from the city’s famed historic stays in antebellum mansions to contemporary, design-forward retreats.
We especially loved the smattering of choices for independent stays, which ranged across boutique hotels, inns, and B&Bs. And, of course, no matter where we were, there’d be greenery everywhere, with the Savannah River always somewhere close by. Here’s a detailed guide to the best unique stays in Vana with in-room hot tubs.

Marriott’s Grande Ocean
10
We begin with Marriott’s Grande Ocean, an excellent Savannah GA hotel with a jacuzzi in the room. Imagine beachfront access with the flexibility of staying choices — that’s this Marriott property for you.
Staying choices at this property were anything but traditional; we had the choices of one/two-bedroom villas, all of which boasted balconies and views of either the lush courtyard or the ocean. What was even better was that they all had two-person jacuzzi tubs right in the room. They weren’t exactly in the room and neither were they in the bathroom; rather they sat in a space just off the bedroom, complete with vanities and doors leading to the toilet and the shower areas. What more could we ask for?
Since this was a luxurious villa property, we enjoyed a ton of additional amenities here, including free Wi-Fi, lush gardens, and a fitness center. Moreover, the restaurant offered a fantastic dining experience, serving lunches and dinners even in outdoor seating areas. Did we mention the indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, an outdoor play area for the kids, and fitness and yoga classes? Yep.

Atlantis Inn, Tybee Island

Stayin close to downtown Savannah and yet away from the bustle doesn’t get better than at Atlantis Inn on Tybee Island. It lies less than half an hour from the heart of Savannah and was the perfect place for us to get away. With just four rooms and suites, staying here was as intimate as it felt exclusive.
We had the choice of four rooms, of which the Red Room, the King Room, and the Penthouse all boasted jacuzzi tubs right in the room. Since we wanted to splurge, we ended up choosing the Penthouse. The massive room boasted a plush king bed on a raised platform right in the middle. At the side, there was an equally huge jetted jacuzzi tub for two people, perfect for our romantic getaway to Tybee Island. A luxurious bathroom and a separate sitting area completed the rest of the room.
What we loved about the Atlantis Inn is that it was a mere five-minute walk from the beach, as well as Tybee Island sights like the museum and the lighthouse. Even though they didn’t serve breakfast, some of the best restaurants and cafes in the town were right around.

Azalea Inn and Villas

No place does romance like the Azalea Inn and Villas in Savannah. This luxurious and elegant 1889-built mansion-turned-B&B was the former home of a Cotton Exchange tycoon. So, we could see remnants of the past, such as the wicker furnishings, verandas with overhead fans, and numerous fireplaces, and the atmosphere was as romantic as it got. Adding to the romantic ambiance were the lush, subtropical gardens that completely surrounded the outdoor pool on the property.
All rooms and suites were decked out luxuriously with plush beds, flat-screen TVs, and swanky en-suite bathrooms with bespoke bath products. At the same time, they were overflowing touches of romance, such as bathrobes and jetted tubs. Our Cotton Exchange room was all the more special, as it had French doors leading to a private deck that overlooked the pool and the gardens. It even had a cozy bistro table setting where we’d enjoy delectable breakfasts on lazy mornings. The best bit, though, was the two-person jetted air tub right in the room. Flanked by columns, it featured a waterfall faucet, where we’d unwind with a glass of champagne from their Romantic Rendezvous package.
Even though it’s a B&B, it boasted an outdoor pool, as we mentioned earlier, as well as a 24-hour wine/beverage fridge, and an evening social.

Hotel Bardo Savannah

Coolest hotel. Formerly the famed Mansion on Forsyth Park, Hotel Bardo Savannah sits nicely between the uber-cool Starland District and the downtown Historic District. This red-brick mansion-turned-urban resort radiated quintessential Southern charm while also having big-city design and amenities.
The digs here hit everything on our 2024 stylish hotel room bingo cards — think tier motifs, art-deco curves, rattan wardrobes, and brass light fixtures. What won us over was the availability of freestanding tubs in many rooms, including the Corner Suite and the Terrace Loft Suite. These digs were slightly different from the other in-room jacuzzi rooms on this list; the jacuzzis or bathtubs weren’t exactly in the room, but they weren’t in the bathrooms either! Rather, they stood right in the middle of a huge closet-like wellness space, complete with vanities and wardrobes, and with doors leading to the toilet and the shower. Did we mention that our Terrace Suite even had an actual terrace (hence the name)? Yes!
Restaurant Saint Bibiana served lunches and dinners, as well as à la carte and continental breakfast options. Think juices, fruits, cheeses, fresh pastries, and warm dishes. If that wasn’t enough, the hotel is also home to the Left Lane Spa and Camp Bardo for families with kids. The standout is the stunning courtyard area, which has a gorgeous long outdoor pool sprinkled with palm trees, foliage, and daybeds for the ultimate in romance and relaxation.

DoubleTree by Hilton Historic Savannah

Best chain hotel. We wouldn’t have imagined a chain hotel to be an excellent Savannah GA hotel with a jacuzzi in the room, but the DoubleTree by Hilton Historic Savannah demystified all our myths. The hotel had a choice of king rooms with whirlpools, where the whirlpool wasn’t in the bathroom, but right in the room! Located just steps from the bed, the two-person whirlpool was perfect for unwinding in the comfort of our room at the end of the day.
That’s not to say that the hotel didn’t have other relaxing amenities. Not only did we have access to a wonderful outdoor pool but there was even a hot tub right next to it. So, on days when we felt like getting out of the room, the outdoor pool and hot tub were where we’d be. Aside from this, this Hilton outpost also had a 24-hour business center, a fitness center, and the John Ryan’s bistro and pub, which served breakfasts, dinners, and even room service. Did we mention the free Wi-Fi and the chocolate chip biscuits at check-in? Yep.

McMillan Inn

Most luxurious. We entered a different world at the McMillan Inn, an opulent B&B sitting in a 1888-built, lovingly restored Italianate Revival Inn in the Historic District. Imagine enjoying a romantic retreat in the very heart of the city; that’s how staying at the inn felt like.
We had the choice of six Garden Level rooms, seven Upper-Level ones, and a gorgeous Carriage House. Of them, the Calhoun Square garden room and the upper-level Gaston had jetted jacuzzi tubs right in the very room! Even though Calhoun Square was poolside, we chose the Gaston, which boasted an antique yet comfy queen bed, an original gas fireplace, and gorgeous views of the courtyard. The crown jewel was the oversized two-person Jacuzzi tub, which we could relax in and watch movies on the huge flat-screen TV. Romancing indoors never looked better.
The rest of the inn was equally amazing, as our days began with full southern breakfasts. It included signature dishes such as cinnamon role casseroles, French toasts, peach pie pancakes, as well as savory delicacies like quiches, hash browns, and egg preparations. Of course, it wouldn’t be southern without biscuits and gravy, can it?

Justine Inn

Formerly the Olde Savannah Inn, the now-Justine Inn is a cozy, six-room boutique hotel right in the very heart of Vana’s downtown historic district. Sitting in a renovated 1877 brownstone, this Gaston Street getaway scores on more fronts than one.
Firstly, we loved the fact that there were just six rooms here, making for an intimate and exclusive staying experience. What’s more, the room we chose, the Deluxe Suite had a spa bath right in the room. Located just steps from the bed, it sat on a raised, stepped platform, ensuring that the rest of the room never got wet. Moreover, all rooms and suites featured gorgeous garden views, free Wi-Fi, mod-cons, and bathrobes.
For a small inn, the setting was surely jaw-dropping, complete with gardens, a sun terrace, and even an outdoor seating area. Did we mention the cozy lounge and the concierge services? Yep.

Bellwether House

Savannah has many hidden gems, and one of them is the stunning Bellwether House. Strictly speaking, it’s a B&B, but what we experienced at these twin 19th-century Italianate mansions was nothing less than a luxurious and intimate staying experience. Did we mention that all guests had the option of booking their spa for a hot large copper tub bath? Yes! Check out their Wellness experiences.
All of the Bellwether House’s 16 rooms are impressive, varying in size but all similarly luxuriously decked out in a modern-classic style. We loved that the digs put antique elements to modern use, but we were most impressed by our Garden King Room. One of the B&B’s entry-level rooms, it felt anything but entry-level, with huge amounts of space, brick walls, and – the kicker – a huge clawfoot bathtub right in the room. Located right next to the wall at the foot of the bed, the bathtub was huge enough for the two of us to enjoy some intimate times in the comfort of our room.
Every morning, we were treated to unique Indian-accented breakfasts, which was followed up by afternoon tea. Then, around sunset, there would be an evening of drinking, which would be flagged off with the opening of a ceremonial saber.

Rhett House Inn

If you’re craving a bit of solitude and want to get away from the bustle of the city, we highly recommend Rhett House Inn. Tucked in the charming town of Beaufort, an hour from Savannah, this Beaufort Historic District home-turned-inn was romantic, alluring, and laidback luxury at its best.
When it came to in-room jacuzzis, we had two options – Room No. 10 in the Main House and Room No. 11 in the adjoining Cottage House. Room No. 10, its most requested room, was where we stayed. The parlor level digs boasted not only a king bed but also a private bath with a jetted tub in a private screened-in porch area that overlooked the fountain and the gardens. Room No. 11 was no less amazing, also featuring a private bath with jetted tub, but it had the option to join with Room No. 12.
Our days began with delicious homemade Southern breakfasts everyday, which we’d enjoy in the breakfast room, the sun room, or even the spacious veranda. After exploring the town on historic horse-carriage tours, we’d head back for pastries and tea in the afternoon and hors d’oeuvres and desserts in the evening.

The Gastonian

Best overall. We end the list with a banger – one of the most historic hotels in Savannah – the Gastonian. It sat just a few blocks from the gorgeous Forsyth Park in two adjoining 1868-built luxurious antebellum mansions.
We had the choice of 17 spacious rooms and suites, all of which boasted stunning antiques, mod-cons, swanky bathrooms, luxury cotton bathrobes, and bespoke bath products. What’s more, some rooms even featured private balconies and clawfoot bathtubs. Since we were looking for something special, we chose the Caracalla Suite, a.k.a. the Honeymoon Suite. It had its very own living room space with a whirlpool tub right next to the chaise lounge and fireplace! It was topped by Victorian antiques such as mirrors and a shimmering chandelier, adding to the romantic air. Check out more photos on the official page.
“The Gastonian was the perfect blend of old-world and modern, and it was a memorable stay in the heart of Savannah!”
WOW Travel
We loved the exceptional food here, especially the delectable breakfast spread. However, that’s not all. Afternoons were reserved for complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres, which the hosts would await us with in the parlor. Meanwhile, evenings were for cordials and desserts. Did we mention that the in-house chefs even whipped up picnic lunches for us? We enjoyed a heavenly picnic lunch in Forsyth Park one day. Sigh.

Where to Stay in Savannah, GA?
The all-American Savannah has a long, rich, and illustrious history that dates back to the Antebellum era. So, we were floored by remnants of that era, like cobblestoned streets and squares, Georgian mansions, lush public parks, and even horse-drawn carriages.
Of them all, our favorite neighborhood was the Historic District, which is Savannah’s crowning glory. It’s brims with charm, culture, history, historic mansions, and cobblestone streets. So, it was perfect for us culture vultures and history lovers, as well as the romantics in us as we were celebrating our anniversary! Secondly, there’s the second historic district of River Street, which had a touch of modern charm. Lying along the Savannah River, it’s lined with tons of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops. Finally, there’s City Market, which is the most northwestern part of Sava. It’s a vibrant area full of cafes, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants open late into the night.
