Our first recommendation is Basecamp Boulder. First of all, the location couldn’t be better. Basecamp is right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance to Pearl Street’s buzzing cafes and shops, and just a short drive to hiking trails and ski slopes. It’s got that quirky “urban mountain” vibe Boulder is known for, with a touch of coziness that makes you want to kick back after a day of exploring.
One of our favorite parts? The yoga station. After long walks through town and a morning hike, being able to roll out a mat and stretch in a calm, dedicated space felt so good. Whether it was a quick sunrise flow or a slow evening stretch, it felt like the perfect way to destress. Having the sauna right nearby made it even better.

When we first pulled into A-Lodge Boulder, we instantly got why locals rave about it. Tucked into seven acres of peaceful mountain terrain, it feels worlds away from the bustle of downtown, yet it’s only a quick drive from the University of Colorado. Our room had all the cozy mountain-lodge vibes we hoped for, plus modern comforts like a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Some guests even get kitchenettes, but we were more interested in the lodge’s outdoor spaces, especially once we heard about their Adventure Yoga.
Adventure Yoga at A-Lodge isn’t your average yoga class. Here, you’re barefoot on a soft carpet of grass, the Fourmile Creek is gurgling just a few feet away, and you’re surrounded by towering pines. It’s easy to see why these classes have become a favorite for Boulder yogis. Plus, the teachers are some of the most respected in town, which makes every session feel both grounding and inspiring.

We knew Grand Hyatt Vail was going to be beautiful, but what really surprised us was how quickly it felt like a place we could sink into and stay for days. The ski-in/ski-out access and Gore Creek views were picture-perfect, but the real magic for us was downstairs at The Spa. Tucked away on the first floor, the yoga studio became our happy place.
We loved that the classes weren’t intimidating at all. Whether we were flowing through vinyasas or just figuring out how to touch our toes, the instructors met us exactly where we were. Moreover, the spa’s atmosphere made it easy to let go of the outside world. After each yoga session, we would linger a little longer than planned, soaking up the calm before heading out to explore Vail.
When we weren’t on the mat, we found plenty of other reasons to love the place. Evenings were made for sipping something warm in the stylish lounge with mountain views or grabbing a casual bite from the courtyard food trailer. The saline pool and hot tubs also became our post-yoga ritual.

The garden alone had us plotting early morning stretches before we even unpacked. Our room was airy and cozy, with a yoga mat already waiting for us. It was such a nice touch for anyone who likes to keep up with their practice while traveling. And if you somehow forgot yours, no problem, as extra mats are tucked away in guest cabinets on every floor.
Our mornings here were always the same: coffee in hand, mat rolled out either in our room or outside in the garden, and a bit of yoga before breakfast. The hotel keeps exercise equipment in a bin in the garden too, which made it easy to mix up our routine with some light strength work. We loved that everything was so accessible, so we didn’t have to hunt down a fitness room or book a class.

We biked to nearby spots using the hotel’s rentals, and after a day of exploring, the hot tub was our post-adventure reward. Best Location. We didn’t know mountain air could feel this good until we rolled up to Eleven Taylor River Lodge in Almont, Colorado. Picture this: historic log cabins that smell faintly of cedar, a river humming just steps from your porch, and a yoga mat waiting for you by the water. Their streamside yoga sessions were the kind of thing you can’t fake. It was just us, the sound of the current, and the occasional birdcall weaving into our breathing.
In between yoga classes, we slipped easily into that slow-but-full kind of lodge life. One day, it was fly fishing on a stretch of the Taylor River that felt like our own private movie set. Another day, we hopped on bikes and followed trails bursting with wildflowers until our legs gave out, in the best way. When we needed something a little less zen and a little more adrenaline, there was whitewater rafting and even axe throwing, which was surprisingly therapeutic.
By nightfall, we would wander into the open-air bathhouse for a swim under the stars or sink into the lodge’s cozy nooks with a Colorado Mule in hand. Dinner was always a highlight. We enjoyed the chef-made dishes with fresh, local ingredients that somehow tasted even better after a day outside.

If you want to spend your days in Vail, this is the place to be. Introducing you to the Lodge at Vail, A RockResort. Nestled right at the base of Vail Mountain and just a short stroll from Gondola One, this resort allowed us to be in the heart of it all. Better yet, our room had sweeping mountain views, and in the evenings, we would cozy up in our seating area or step out onto the balcony to watch the village lights glow against the snow.
One of the unexpected highlights? The free community yoga classes. Every Tuesday evening, you can wander down to the Movement Studio where a rotating group of local instructors will lead you through 75 minutes of movement, breathwork, and stillness. No sign-ups, no pressure, just show up with your mat and join in. We loved the yoga session a lot. Being surrounded by locals and fellow travelers alike made it feel more like a shared community ritual.
Of course, the rest of the Lodge kept us just as happy. After yoga, we loved to treat ourselves at Elway’s with perfectly cooked steaks and a wine list that could keep us exploring for days. On warmer afternoons, lounging by the pool with a snack from the Pool One Bar & Grill was pure bliss.

Best Mountain Resort. When we pulled into Cheyenne Mountain Resort, we couldn’t help but stare. The dramatic backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain and the sweeping Rocky Mountain Front Range was too beautiful to be true. Even though the resort covers 200 acres, it still feels intimate, with plenty of spots to breathe and take in the view. The best part? It’s not isolated. Downtown Colorado Springs was just a quick drive away, the airport only 10 miles from our room, and Denver just over an hour and a half up the road.
One of the coolest surprises was the private beach. Yes, a beach… in Colorado! The resort’s 35-acre lake became our favorite yoga spot. There’s something magical about flowing through poses while looking out over still water framed by mountains. We also made good use of the massive fitness center, which wasn’t just an afterthought like in most hotels. It had top-notch equipment, plenty of space, and a great lineup of classes, including yoga sessions that kept us feeling grounded.
After an active day, we treated ourselves to the Alluvia Spa and Wellness Retreat, and it was as indulgent as it sounds. From classic massages to unique body wraps, the treatment menu seemed designed to melt away tension. We even noticed special options for teens, a thoughtful touch for families. Pairing a morning yoga session with an afternoon spa treatment was the best decision we made.

Best Aqua Yoga. The Springs Resort & Spa is like a wellness sanctuary. The 25 geothermal pools here are all fed by the world’s deepest hot spring, affectionately called the Mother Spring, and each one has its own charm when it comes to size and temperature. We spent hours moving from one to the next, letting the mineral-rich waters work their magic.
The real highlight, though, was the yoga program. Indoor sessions on open floor space were peaceful, and outdoor classes offered fresh mountain air, but aqua yoga was something else entirely. Waist-deep in warm water, we moved through a gentle Vinyasa flow, linking each movement with our breath. The instructor gave plenty of modifications, so everyone could participate at their own pace.
Additionally, the spa was our second home. Every treatment felt great, from tension-melting massages to aloe body wraps enhanced with magnesium spray and geothermal compresses that seemed to infuse wellness straight into our skin. We also joined a sound bathing session (yes, in the hot springs!) and a gratitude ceremony.

The Villas at Snowmass Club in the Aspen Snowmass area is the perfect choice for group yoga retreats. Our villa was spacious, with enough room for everyone to spread out without bumping elbows, and the mountain views were unreal. Waking up to Snowmass Mountain and Mt. Daly made our morning coffee taste a little better. And yes, we may have spent an embarrassing amount of time just sitting on the patio, breathing it all in.
One of our favorite parts of the stay was having access to the Snowmass Club’s massive 19,000 sq ft athletic center. With the spa, the pools, and all the fitness facilities, we had no excuse not to stay active. The highlight, though, was the yoga. Whether it was a sunrise flow to shake off the mountain chill or a restorative session after a long day of exploring, each class was much needed by the body and mind.
And the best part? Everything felt easy. The shuttle to the Two Creeks chair lift allowed us to ski without worrying about parking, and having a full kitchen and outdoor grill in our villa made post-yoga dinners a cozy affair. We even found time to hit the tennis courts and wander the golf course just for the views.

Best Wellness Club. The Garden of the Gods Resort & Club is exactly the beast that people have said, only better. This place has been spoiling guests with stunning Kissing Camels views since 1951, but after a huge renovation in 2023, it somehow managed to become even more breathtaking. Every corner of the resort seems designed to frame those iconic red rock formations. When we were there, we were constantly reminded we were in one of the most beautiful spots in Colorado.
The real magic, though, is in the wellness side of things. We spent an afternoon at Strata Med, the resort’s holistic health sanctuary. Whether it’s acupuncture, an Ayurvedic consult, or an IV therapy, they’ve thought of everything. For a deeper dive into health, you can even see one of their on-site medical specialists. We capped our visit with time in their Himalayan salt room, followed by a soak in the airy jacuzzi, and floated back to our room.
One of our favorite moments was joining a yoga session on the lawn by the reflection pool. Imagine holding a tree pose with those glowing red rocks as your background. Perfection! On top of that, guests are given a yoga mat in their room. Amazing, right?
