Sitting just an hour south of Denver, Colorado Springs is aptly called the Goldilocks of travel destinations. It might be the state’s second-largest city, but it doesn’t feel crowded. Secondly, it’s far enough from Denver, but isn’t inaccessible at the same time. Moreover, it’s got tons of green swathes, but it also has an urban center. And while the state is all about the outdoors, it also has equally excellent shelters above your heads. When we went looking for the best hotels in Colorado Springs, we found a common thread in all of them. They were all about historic character, striking views, and outdoor access. At the same time, they ranged across vibes, budgets, and locations, truly cementing Colorado Springs as the place which has something for every traveler.
What’s more, since Colorado Springs offers easy access to the Rockies, especially the Pikes Peak region, we had a lot of choices for locations even. Are you planning to visit Colorado Springs too? Here’s a detailed guide to the best stays in and around what has been called “Little London.”

Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs Airport
11
We begin with the Radisson Hotel Colorado Springs Airport, one of the best stays near Colorado Springs Airport. Since we had an early morning flight out, we decided to camp out near the airport at this Radisson outpost, but it was anything but that. Choose from a host of spacious rooms and suites, all of which boasted seating areas so we didn’t have to spend all time in bed. Moreover, they also came with flatscreen cable TVs and modern bathrooms, besides mini-fridges, cofeemakers, and microwaves.
Besides a 24/7 free airport shuttle service, this hotel offered a whole bunch of amenities that allowed us to spend the entire day actually resting instead of simply staring at the walls. For one, the outdoor pool was perfect for a swim or a dip, after which we’d even lounge on the daybeds. Besides a fitness center, there was even a hot tub, a lounge serving all kinds of liquor, and even a restaurant that served delicious meals.

The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa

We were traveling to Colorado Springs with our four-legged companion, so we were thrilled to find an upscale stay that not only allowed but also welcomed pets. The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa offered world-class amenities and hospitality to not just us, but also our pooch. One of the biggest differences here was that most common areas allowed our dog to be around us. Plus, they even had a grassy area for pet relief, and we could bring 2 dogs of any size for a fee of just 75 USD. That’s why it’s one of the top pet-friendly stays in Colorado Springs.
We humans had a great time at the hotel too. The decor was thoroughly Art Deco, complete with an antique piano, gold-hued furnishings, and metal stairways. After a long day of exploring, we’d unwind and relax with facials and massages at the onsite spa. Later on, we enjoyed cocktails at the outdoor English Courtyard with amazing views. Heck, we even got to taste and enjoy authentic Creole and Cajun cuisine at the onsite restaurant and bar, and that too without having to leave the hiotel.
All rooms and suites had different layouts, but the suites, where we stayed, were something else. The spacious Remedy King Suite had massive windows, separate seating areas, and sexy green-tiled bathrooms with spacious showers.

The Academy Hotel Colorado Springs

Best value-for-money. The Academy Hotel Colorado Springs is one of the best affordable traditional stays on this list. In fact, it’s one of the best cheap stays in Colorado Springs. This family-owned hotel’s charm lies in its impeccable hospitality. We loved the fact that the staff were ever helpful and gave us a whole lot of tips for a memorable stay. The amenities were no less amazing, right from the extensive breakfast spreads to the lush atrium with the indoor pool. What’s more, it had lots of greenery all around, game rooms, and even a Nintendo Switch station, making it perfect for families with kids.
Furthermore, the rooms and suites were absolutely fantastic, and we were especially impressed with all the space. What’s more, they all came with plush beds, seating areas with sofas, flatscreen TVs, and modern bathrooms with showers and bathtubs.

SCP Colorado Springs

Fellow eco-conscious travelers take note; the SCP Colorado Springs is the eco-friendly place to stay at in the heart of the town. However, there are a lot more things we loved about this place, starting with the hotel’s commitment to wellness. Firstly, there’s the 5,000 sq ft fitness center, which was perfect for fitness freaks like our partner. Others, me included, loved the outdoor pool, which was open 24/7. Moreover, SCP Commons was the perfect spot to work through your holiday or relax with a cup of locally sourced coffee. Furthermore, we enjoyed the Mexican and Mediterranean-inspired healthy yet delicious fare at the Provisions Market.
So, what about the rooms and suites? We were completely taken in by their minimalist yet chic aesthetic and design, besides being well-equipped and airy. We especially liked the locally made furniture, eco-friendly bath products, and comfy plant-based foam mattress.

Kinship Landing

There was something for every kind of traveler at the Kinship Landing sitting in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. The accommodations at Kinship were slightly unconventional for a stay right in the middle of Colorado Springs. Firstly, the thoughtfully designed digs ranged from bunk rooms — yes, bunk rooms — to regular rooms and even spacious suites. Our King Suite had a plush bed, stunning views of the mountains from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and a bathtub steps away from our bed. Then again, the bunk rooms are perfect for families or even larger groups of friends staying here.
Beyond the accommodations, the Kinship Landing is one of the most social hotels we’ve ever seen, perhaps the only one. For instance, the Home Bar and Cafe was unlike any hotel lobby we’d ever seen. It was more like an open-to-the-public base camp where we could mingle, drink, and eat with other guests. If that wasn’t enough, there was a variety of seating options, right from community tables to fireside lounges and cozy booths.

Old Town Guesthouse B&B

Best B&B. Tucked in a historic Victorian neighborhood was the Old Town Guesthouse B&B, which was everything from a jail and firehouse to city hall earlier. We chose this place for its utterly romantic allure, which extended to the eight themed rooms. While all rooms boasted gorgeous mountain views, ours even had a fireplace right in front of our bed. Moreover, we had direct views of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods from our balcony. Since we’d taken the romantic package, there was not just champagne waiting for us when we checked in, but also, they sent up chocolate and strawberries. Plus, they even had a gourmet gift-boxed sampler of mixed fruits, with strawberries, chocolates, and fruit bites. The best bit? Our room price even included breakfast and free off-street parking!
Every day, we’d come back early from our sightseeing to experience the rest of the B&B or take some time off from our busy schedule. Our days began with delicious breakfast spreads with juice, tea, coffee, pancakes, hot entrees, eggs, and whatnot. Since we’d have long days, we made it a point to let off some steam in the game room with pool or pinball and watch movies.

The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel

There were a lot of things we loved about The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel, starting with its absolutely central location. Since it sat right in the heart of downtown, it offered us unobstructed and sweeping mountain views as well as easy access to the heart of the town. What’s more, the hotel’s amenities were no less impressive. Besides the state-of-the-art fitness center, the hotel even had swimming pools — yes, plural! Since the weather was nice when we were visiting, the outdoor pool was perfect for a swim. Moreover, we even had and made use of the salon and spa privileges at its sister hotel, The Mining Exchange. Finally, the restaurant and bar served all meals, including cocktails.
Even the entry-level rooms here were quite spacious and very comfortable. We found all the essentials we needed for a comfy and luxurious stay, including lots of storage space. Since we wanted to up the ante on our stay a bit, we booked the Junior King Suite, with mesmerizing city views.

Cliff House at Pikes Peak

The Cliff House at Pikes Peak was one of Colorado Springs’ best boutique stays, and we were eagerly looking forward to spending time here. We love historic houses, and the Cliff House’s history dates back to the late 1800s. When it came to the rooms and suites, we chose the beautifully appointed King Studio, which blended modern amenities and vintage charm. Plus, it had a host of special touches, such as a spa tub and a gas fireplace.
“We felt liked we’d stepped back in time at the Cliff House, but with modern comforts. What more could we ask for?”
WOW Travel
The rest of the hotel was no less impressive. One of the standout amenities here was our dining experience at the Cliff House Dining Room. Not only were the dishes deliciously creative and fresh, but the entire experience was special, with the chef and hosts telling us all about Manitou Springs, where the boutique hotel. If you like seafood, every dish was particularly impressive, like artwork.

Garden of the Gods Resort & Club

Most luxurious. It’s impossible to talk about the best luxury stays in Colorado Springs without talking about the Garden of the Gods Resort & Club. Firstly, we loved the prime location right across the Garden of the Gods Park. Since it was a members-only place earlier, it exuded a sense of exclusivity, and we felt like VIP guests. What’s more, the extensive amenities blew our minds, like the family recreation center, a 27-hole golf course, tennis courts, state-of-the-art fitness center, and the pools. The dining options were no less amazing, with the Grand View Dining Room serving and delicious, locally sourced cuisine and offering spectacular views of the red rocks.
There were many choices for rooms and suites with all different kinds of views, but we didn’t want to compromise as this was an indulgent vacation. So, we chose to stay in the spacious and majestic Cottage Suite, which had a balcony that overlooked not just the reflecting pond and the expansive lawn, but also the majestic mountains. Moreover, our suite was beautifully appointed with a luxe bathroom, contemporary amenities, and comfy furnishings, as well as Gilchrist & Soames bath products.

Cheyenne Mountain Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Hotels
2
Best family-friendly. Cheyenne Mountain Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Hotels, with the Rockies as its backdrop, was every bit as luxurious as it sounded and looked. After all, how many hotels have the distinction of having a Pete Dye-designed golf course?
However, what made it interesting was that this is also one of Colorado Springs’ best family friendly stays. The highlight was the five indoor and outdoor pools, of which the latter even had a Kidz Splash Pad. When the kids would sleep, we’d go to the adults-only pool and Alluvia Spa! What’s more, the kids were thrilled with the private beach on the banks of the 35-acre lake, which had picnic spots, watersports, and whatnot. With three restaurants, we didn’t have to worry about the kids being picky eaters. Oh, and the Mountain View Restaurant has all-you-can-eat buffets, with the kiddos eating free!
Choose from a whole host of rooms and suites at Cheyenne Resort in Colorado Springs. We were blown away by the spacious suites, which could easily accommodate our large family. In fact, our One-Bedroom Junior Suite even had two patios overlooking the golf course.

The Broadmoor

There’s no doubt that the Broadmoor is the best overall stay in not just Colorado Springs, but all of Colorado! It’s also one of the best resorts in Colorado Springs, and it’s easy to see why. The charming pink stucco exteriors stands out southwest of the city, looking much like an Italian lakeside village on the banks of Cheyenne Lake.
We had a massive range of choices, right from regular rooms to spacious suites overlooking the mountains and the lake. Luckily enough, we snagged the Broadmoor West premier suite, which not only had a balcony overlooking Cheyenne Lake, but also had breathtaking views of the mountains. If you’re looking for even more luxury, try the West Gaylord or Penrose Suites, with the former even having hosted the likes of Bill Gates and Elton John!
There’s no doubt that such an amazing resort would have amazing amenities. Firstly, there’s the zero-entry lakeside pool with waterslides and hot tubs, making it fun for the whole family. We even paddle boated on the lake, enjoyed movies at the movie theater, and relaxed at the world-class spa. If you’re the get-up-and-move kind, the Broadmoor Golf Club, the state-of-the-art fitness center and the pickleball and tennis courts are right up your alley. Did we mention that the resort has seven restaurants, bars, and cafes? Yes!

Where to Stay in Colorado Springs?
Colorado “Little London” Springs offers the perfect balance between urban and natural outdoor landscapes. So, we had to pin down a neighborhood to stay in, especially since the city is also a gateway to the Rockies. Hence, besides actual neighborhoods, there are amazing hotels that are located all over the place.
All kinds of travelers, from couples to first-timers, will absolutely love staying in Old Colorado City — we did too! This all-around excellent neighborhood is ancient, diverse, and has many of the top things to do in Colorado Springs. In fact, we found everything from hot air balloon rides to souvenirs here! Secondly, there’s Middle Shooks Run, which boasts some of the city’s best nightlife. It lies just outside the city center, but it also has excellent museums and many gorgeous parks.
However, our favorite neighborhood was the suburban Manitou Springs, which sits right on the fringes of the Rocky Mountains. This utterly romantic destination is home to hot springs, as the name suggests, as well as an incredible range of activities, mesmerizing views, and amazing accommodations.
When’s the best time to go to Colorado Springs?
While summer (June-August) is one of the most popular times to visit the city, it’s also very hot and crowded. Fall (September-November) and Spring (March-May) are the perfect in-between months, where the rates are lesser, the crowds are fewer, and the temperature is cooler and neither too hot or cold.
