Local Cave House Hotel
11
The Local Cave House was built into the side of a hill, so it has that authentic cave-hotel charm that you’re probably looking for. Despite that, it’s plenty comfortable. The terrace was one of our favorite spots, especially in the evening, when the panoramic views of the Goreme landscape turned golden. And yes, there’s even a heated outdoor pool with countryside views.
Our room was just as inviting as the surroundings. It came with its own spacious balcony, perfect for sipping tea in the morning while soaking in the view. Inside, we had a cozy seating area, a work desk, and a private bathroom that balanced rustic cave vibes with modern touches.
Mornings at the Local Cave House were another highlight. Each day started with a generous Turkish buffet breakfast, full of fresh, local ingredients that fueled us for exploring. The staff also helped with airport transfers and made booking tours completely stress-free. With free parking available and such a central location, staying here made our time in Cappadocia feel effortless and extra memorable.

The owner, Derviş, has blended his Dutch eco-sensibility with the region’s natural beauty. The moment we stepped onto the terrace, we were greeted with not only the panoramic views of Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys but also hot air balloons.

Sultan Cave Suites

Best for Instagram. Sultan Cave Suites is the Goreme hotel you’ve probably seen all over Instagram—the one with the rooftop terrace, colorful cushions, and that iconic “table of fruit” setup. If you’ve spotted couples or groups of girlfriends in flowing dresses posing with balloons at sunrise, chances are it was here. Staff even keep an eye out to make sure only guests get access during those golden hours!
Once the morning photoshoots are over, the terrace transforms into a calm, sunlit spot. We loved ordering tea, beer, or wine from the rooftop bar and enjoying the views in peace. It felt worlds away from the Instagram frenzy. During the day, it’s quiet, relaxed, and one of the best places to simply soak in the Cappadocia landscape.
Of course, Sultan Cave Suites offers more than just its rooftop. Our room was spacious and cool, the breakfast buffet was incredible, and the staff were always warm and helpful. What’s more, a free shuttle from the bus station and easy airport transfers make staying here both convenient and unforgettable.

Where to Stay in Goreme, Cappadocia
Goreme Town Center is the most convenient area to stay, especially if it’s your first time in Cappadocia. The town center also has plenty of cave hotels to choose from, whether you’re on a budget or looking for something more luxurious.
If you’re dreaming of waking up to the sight of hot air balloons floating across the sky, the Goreme Hillside near the panoramic viewpoints is the place to be. Many hotels here have terraces overlooking the valleys and fairy chimneys, offering some of the best sunrise views in town. The area feels a bit quieter than the center, but still keeps you close enough to walk into town when you want to explore.
However, for travelers who prefer peace and easy access to nature, the edge of Goreme near Pigeon Valley and Rose Valley is a great choice. This area is ideal for hiking lovers, with trails right outside your door, and it tends to be less crowded than the center. Hotels here often feel more tucked away, giving you a chance to enjoy Cappadocia’s landscape in a calmer, more scenic setting.
