Old Town Guest House B&B
11
It’s only fitting for the gorgeous Old Town Guest House B&B to kick off this list. This boutique bed and breakfast is conveniently located in the charming Old Colorado City neighborhood. We really liked the location, as it allowed us to explore some of the city’s top spots easily but minus the crowd.
Our room, the Old Town Cactus, was what we loved the most. The American West theme was beautifully captured with Cowboy Poetry Society mementos and antique quilts. We particularly enjoyed the private two-person sauna/steam shower. Not to mention, the balcony provided breathtaking views of Pikes Peak and Old Colorado City, especially during sunset.
The gourmet breakfast served in the dining room was also a highlight. Speaking of food, we appreciated the complimentary afternoon drinks offered in the library. Reading while sipping your favorite drink – who doesn’t like that? Finally, the game room and meeting space are additional perks for those seeking entertainment or professional gatherings.

We truly had a delightful stay at Glen Eyrie Castle & Conference Center! It was the perfect place for a mini-retreat, feeling like we’d stepped back in time with the gorgeous 1871 castle setting. The highlight for us was definitely the surrounding nature. We spent hours exploring the well-maintained hiking trails right on the property, enjoying the stunning mountain views. Imagine our surprise when we even spotted some bears outside our lodge! It was an incredible encounter (from a safe distance of course).
If you’re looking for a unique and romantic getaway, Glen Eyrie offers 95 different rooms to suit your taste. We were tempted by the historic Premier rooms in the Castle itself, but even the standard rooms looked cozy. Our Deluxe Room was comfortable and charming, and the included breakfast was a real treat. Fresh pastries, delicious entrees, and a variety of homemade goodies – it was a feast prepared by their award-winning culinary team.
The hotel also has a charming afternoon tea service with little sandwiches and cakes. We enjoyed the high tea session a lot, especially after spending so much energy exploring the surrounding area. We can’t wait to come back and do everything all over again.

Even today, we can’t forget our fantastic experience at Flying Horse Resort & Club. This boutique resort, also a AAA Four Diamond Hotel and one of the best luxury hotels in Colorado Springs, met all of our super high expectations. The lodge opened its doors in 2015. This means everything is modern and in excellent condition. Our room was spacious and had a lovely “Rocky Mountain Tuscan” aesthetic. We particularly loved the plush bed, 55-inch flat-screen TV, and large bathtub.
While our room was incredibly comfortable, we also spent a lot of time exploring the resort’s many amenities. The two 18-hole championship golf courses were a highlight, and the world-class spa was the perfect place to relax after hours of flight. We also enjoyed swimming in one of the outdoor pools and working out at the Athletic Club. This resort sure knew how to keep us busy.
When it came to dining, we were spoiled for choice. We had lunch at The Athletic Club and Grill, which was delicious and casual. For a more upscale experience, you can dine at The Steakhouse at Flying Horse and enjoy a fantastic steak dinner.
