Milan is one of the most visited cities in Europe, whether it’s for business or leisure and sightseeing. So, one can only imagine how many vehicles there will be on the streets of this city and how challenging finding a good, affordable parking spot can get. That being said, we had a fantastic time with a rental car in Milan, as we were able to get around easily and explore the city on our own terms. That’s why we decided to look for hotels in Milan with parking, both paid and free, if possible. While most of the big-ticket luxury hotels have their own car parks, the same cannot be said for most other stays in the city. That’s why we’ve done the legwork for you, drawing up a list of the city’s best-located stays with either free or relatively affordable parking, either onsite or nearby.

Duo Milan Porta Nuova, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
11
We’re going to begin with the Duo Milan Porta Nuova, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel that offers the comfort of valet parking right outside the hotel. The hotel charges a flat daily valet rate of EUR 37 (USD 38.5), which is on the pricier side, yes. However, we were looking for a hotel close to Duomo (we were 15 minutes by car), we wanted a safe and secure parking experience onsite, which the Duo Milan was offering. If you want offsite parking, there’s also a parking lot in Valparaiso, but it’s around 3.7 mi (6 km) away.
Since the parking is in a public lot across the street from the hotel, the hotel also gives the guests the option to park it themselves, putting money into the meter in and out. That being said, the hotel even offers getting the cars to guests free of charge (for the service), which is a huge plus point. Just keep one thing in mind that give them advance notice of 20-30 minutes to get your car from the lot, since parking can be a hassle, and everything is slow in the country! Finally, the staff was more than helpful with any questions we had about parking during check-in.

Hotel Berna
10
Located right next to Milano Centrale Railway Station is Hotel Berna, which is one of the few hotels where we found paid underground parking in their secure garage. For a daily fee of EUR 18 (USD 18.7), the staff take your car when you arrive, parking it in the garage. What’s more, we could park it and take the car out ourselves too, which was a convenience that we liked. While the rate was on the steeper side, we loved the convenience and the peace of mind of having our rental car right on the property.
Additionally, we loved the convenience of staying close to the station as we could also return our car during the last leg of our trip, taking day trips out of the city. The rest of the hotel and its amenities were equally impressive, especially the breakfast, which was the highlight of our stay.

Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa Milano
9
We wanted to stay in abject luxury during our Milan stay, which is why we chose Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa Milano, one of the best luxury hotels in Milan Italy. What we loved about the hotel was that they had underground valet parking. So, not only was the parking secure and indoor, but also the staff was very respectful of our vehicle. Moreover, they were extremely quick in parking and retrieving our car, which we absolutely appreciated. In fact, we ended up paying a premium for our stay, and we didn’t mind it a bit, as we had peace of mind with regards to our car. The parking charges were EUR 50 (USD 51.9) per day.
The hotel is as every bit luxurious as is advertised, and we got to experience it firsthand. Aside from the chic rooms and suites, the swanky amenities like the restaurant and the decadent spa, the highlight was the exclusive 18th-century private garden, a rare oasis of greenery in the heart of Milan.

UNAHOTELS Scandinavia Milan

Best value for money. Located on the northwestern fringes of Centro Storico, a 20-minute drive from the Duomo Cathedral was UNAHOTELS Scandinavia Milan. The hotel offered not only a paid parking garage but also offered it right on the property. Moreover, the private parking spots even had Tesla Wall Connectors. So, for a fee of around EUR 20 (USD 20.8), we could easily drive in and out of our accommodation whenever we wanted, and it was very convenient. If you’re thinking of parking your car out on the street to save a few euros, note that there are huge, traditional Italian markets taking place every Tuesday and Saturday right in front of the hotel. At such times, street parking is forbidden, and even we had to access the parking from another entry.
Overall, we loved the modern rooms, which had minibars, plush beds, free Wi-Fi, and chic bathrooms. An onsite restaurant aside, the hotel even has a bar serving snacks and drinks and also serves a light breakfast is available every morning from as early as 4 am onward.

Hotel Canada Milano Urban Chic
7
One of the best budget hotels in Milan, the Hotel Canada Milano Urban Chic was one of the best stays we found with affordable parking facilities extremely close to Centro Storico. We were just five minutes away from the Duomo Cathedral by car. Despite there being no onsite parking, the hotel gave guests and their cars access to a parking garage just behind it. What’s more, we even got a special 20% discounted rate of EUR 20 (USD 20.75) for 24 hours, which was not bad for the area. The b best bit? Access was very easy, and we didn’t have any issues getting in or out of the hotel with our rental car.
So, what else did we like about the hotel? A lot! For one, the continental breakfast was complimentary, unlike many other well-priced hotels in the vicinity. What’s more, it also enjoys a 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi, modern digs, and a dining room where we’d enjoy breakfast everyday. Since we were close to the Duomo, we could simply stroll down to many of the top things to see and do in Milan.

Hotel Metrò

While we were slightly away from the Piazza Duomo while staying at Hotel Metrò, it was a mere 15-minute drive, thanks to our rental car. That’s also why we chose this hotel, as it was offering offsite parking which was just a two-minute walk from the hotel. Nevertheless, the parking was extremely secure, and we could enter only using the ticket our hotel gave, which gave us peace of mind. For the same, the fee was EUR 22 (EUR 22.8) for the day, which was slightly steep, but the convenience and the peace of mind was excellent. The best bit? The staff were extremely courteous and helpful with regards to any questions we had.
Besides the extremely comfy A/C rooms and suites, the hotel also had a superb terrace breakfast room-cum-restaurant, which served delicious food. So, we didn’t have to step out for that either!

Nu Hotel
5
One of the best places in Milan where we found free parking was at Nu Hotel, a wonderful mid-range hotel around 15 minutes northeast of the Duomo Cathedral. The hotel offered us free outdoor parking, and that too, in a non-reservable capacity. What’s more, in the unlikely event that a parking space was not available, we could still park for free in the white spots in the surrounding area. If that wasn’t enough, we could also park indoors at the Milano Cars Garage, which was a five-minute walk from hotel and wasn’t affiliated to it in any way.
We loved everything about this modern, designer hotel, whether it was the free parking or the free Wi-Fi. Furthermore, the hotel also had smart rooms with a slew of mod-cons, an onsite Italian restaurant on the rooftop, and even international newspapers online.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Milano
4
Best chain hotel with parking. If you don’t mind staying outside Zone 1 of Milan, then the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Milano is a great choice. One of the biggest reasons is that the chain hotel outpost offers free outdoor parking right on the property. What’s more, they also offer indoor/underground parking in the garage for a fee, but it really wasn’t required.
Located a less than 10-minute walk from Turro Metro Station, this Ramada outpost boasted modern and spacious rooms. Not just that, but it was also one of the few hotels to offer a wonderful seasonal outdoor pool. If that wasn’t enough, it also had a fitness center, free bicycles and two restaurants, complete with a generous and varied breakfast buffet.

Moscova Luxury B&B
3
Best B&B with parking. Can you imagine finding a great B&B in Milan, and that too with parking? Because we got one! Welcome to the gorgeous Moscova Luxury B&B, which has an agreement with a secured and private car parking space for a discounted rate of EUR 15 (USD 15.5) per day instead of the usual EUR 29 (USD 30) per day for the said parking. Since the parking spaces are limited and subject to availability, we asked for the parking specifically while making the booking, and the host was extremely helpful. Not only did they help unload our luggage, but he also drove our car to the car park and came back and explained our entire stay to us.
“We wanted to stay in a B&B and never did we imagine that we’d end up getting one with a very convenient parking space too!”
WOW Travel
The stunning B&B, which was situated across three different buildings, came with a whole lot of perks, including free Wi-Fi. All apartments featured flat-screen satellite TVs, coffee machines in the kitchens, and even free bath products and slippers in the bathrooms. While booking a room gets you access to a shared kitchen and lounge, booking an apartment got us access to a lounge and kitchen for exclusive use.

STRAF Hotel Milan

We wanted to stay in Centro Storico and didn’t mind paying a bit more for parking, but we wanted convenience and great service above everything else. That’s a problem with most such central locations, but STRAF Hotel Milan was not having any of it. Located a less than five-minute walk from Duomo, the hotel boasted outstanding valet parking service, which was a blessing given the central location and crazy driving and parking situation. For a daily valet fee of EUR 60 (USD 62.2), we enjoyed in/out privileges and the ease of having our car parked and brought around every morning.
If that wasn’t enough, they even offered offsite self-parking at La Rinascente around 0.1 mi (0.2 km) away. If you’re planning to self-park here, we’d recommend renting a smaller car as the streets and parking garages will feel painfully small if you aren’t a local.
With reliable and fast Wi-Fi, excellent rooms ensuring good sleep, great amenities, and equally great parking service, it’s why this hotel is one of the best hotels in Milan Italy near Duomo.

C-Hotels Rubens

Best overall. Located just outside Zone C, C-Hotels Rubens is our best overall pick for this list. The hotel was located very conveniently, a mere 20-minute drive to Duomo. What’s more, it offered limited but free parking right on the property, with the option of valet as well as self-parking. Despite us not being able to pre-reserve these spaces, we always found parking at the hotel. Those who didn’t weren’t complaining either, as there was a public car park near Gambara Metro Station right down the road. The price? Just EUR 6 (USD 6.2) for 24 hours, which was an absolute steal!
What also makes the hotel so amazing, besides the parking and the great rooms and suites, is its amenities. It not only featured a fitness center but also a rooftop restaurant with a roof garden and an elegant wine bar. Did we mention the hot and cold buffet that’s served for breakfast? Yep.

Where to Stay in Milan With Parking?
We were surprised to find that Milan did have areas with free parking. Overall, watch out for three color areas when parking: white (free parking), blue (pay-and-park), and yellow (resident permit parking only).
Free Parking
There are white free parking zones all over the city except in Centro Storico, the historical center of Milan, among others. It’s also a ZTL/congestion zone, so there are times you can’t enter with cars, or pay to enter. Arriving earlier on in the day might help you find parking here, budget permitting, of course. Moreover, there are free parking areas near any cemetery and around many train stations too.
Paid Parking
When not parking in a white (free) space, most parking in downtown Milan begins at EUR 3 (USD 3.1) per hour. Finding a parking space in downtown is a matter of sheer luck, so it’s better to arrive early on to find good and affordable paid parking spots. Another way is to look for hotels that are close to huge car parks which offer discounted rates of parking.
Where can I park for free in Milan?
Usually, you’ll only find a few luxurious hotels with their own car parks that will allow you to park for free. Otherwise, most of the places in Milan will have some or the other form of paid parking.
Is it easy to drive a car in Milan?
Driving in Milan is slightly chaotic and harder than most other places, especially due to narrow streets and lots of two-wheelers.
Can I drive in Milan with my country’s license?
If you’re in the country for less than six months, you can drive with your country’s license. However, usually, it’s best that you get an IDP (international driving permit) so as to avoid any issues and hassles.
