What we have here is the Solera 280343 Gas Strut. This is a compatible option with manual and power Solera awnings. In addition to that, it works well with either flat or short arm assemblies. One of the things that amazed us the most during testing was its weight capacity. Designed to deliver 124 lbs of force, it was strong enough to support the weight of our awning and in fact, most awnings on the market.
Don’t worry; installing this gas strut is far from difficult. After reading the instruction manual, we were able to install it in less than 10 minutes. The overall process was pretty straightforward.
