Known for its beaches, dunes, as well as charming towns, Cape Cod is a gorgeous peninsula off the coast of Massachusetts. We’ve been wanting to spend some time there, and we finally had the chance earlier this year. It wasn’t just a regular trip, though, as we brought our furry friends with us. Thankfully, we had done our research, and Cape Cod turned out to be super pet-friendly. Looking for Cape Cod, MA, pet-friendly hotels wasn’t a problem for us, as there were tons of options scattered throughout the region. Once you know where you want to stay, you can start looking for the right hotel. Today, we’d love to recommend some of our favorite accommodations. The ones below have great locations, amazing pet policies, and superb service. Keep reading to know more about them!

Skaket Beach Motel

Only a mile from Cape Cod is the Skaket Beach Motel. The location of this accommodation is to die for as it’s close to numerous shops, restaurants, and beaches. However, what we love the most is its capability of handling dogs. All the staff members are friendly, and they told us dogs were accepted at the motel from September to June. You don’t have to worry about the size of your dog as this motel welcomes all kinds of breeds, but you do have to pay an extra fee of 35 USD (excluding tax) per pet per night.

We brought two of our Chihuahuas, and we were at first a bit worried about leaving them unattended in the room as they seemed a bit nervous. It was probably because of the long flight. Luckily, we were able to calm them down after bringing them to the on-site garden. It was beautiful, and our dogs had a lot of fun sniffing the flowers and plants.

Straight Lodge Cape Cod

With an outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace, we knew we would enjoy a stay at Straight Lodge Cape Cod. But what about our dogs? Lucky for us, this lodging knew how to make sure they had just as much fun as we did. Everyone here was super welcoming and friendly, even to our dogs. When we were busy checking in, there was a staff that kept our pooches busy. This hotel accepts dogs under 40 lbs (18 kg). Thankfully, our dogs were under 40 lbs, so we had to pay only 15 USD per night. If they were heavier, we would’ve been charged 25 USD per night.

We were then further impressed by the grassy area on-site. It was the perfect pet relief area so our dogs could go potty without having to go too far. Some dogs (and even cats) are aggressive. Thankfully, those kinds of pets aren’t allowed at the hotel. That way, our dogs were comfortable and safe throughout our stay.

Harbor Hotel Provincetown

Up next is the Harbor Hotel Provincetown, a pet-friendly hotel that overlooks Cape Cod Bay. There are many reasons why we recommend this hotel. For one, the pet fee, which costs 43 USD per pet for every night, is pretty affordable especially considering many other hotels charge more. Also, Harbor Hotel accepts up to two pets on the property up to 40 lbs (18 kg). And unlike many of its competitions, it’s actually cat-friendly, too.

We were thrilled when we were told we could leave our pets in our room unattended. That way, we were free to explore Provincetown while our dogs were taking a nap. We also make sure to take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and take a yoga class provided by the hotel. Once we were done and our dogs woke up, we took them to the grassy area on-site so they could do what they had to. However, the highlight has to be the wooded trail access. We all went for a walk in the woods, and it was pretty fun.

Inn on Main

This old but charming accommodation will surely melt your heart. After all, it did melt ours! Introducing you to Inn on Main, a super pet-friendly and cozy lodging that boasts a spacious garden and outdoor fireplace. We truly had an enjoyable time here. And as you can guess, we spent most of our free time chilling in the garden. We would sit on the chair and enjoy our tea while our dogs explored the area and sniffed literally everything. The plants surely kept them busy. This place has a huge green area to take your dog out, so you don’t have to keep them in the room all day long.

Throughout our stay, the hosts were super nice and kind. Chris and Sarah made sure everything we needed was met. They also have a dog, Crocker, so they sure know how to treat dogs well. They even let us know where we should bring our dogs for some fun. Also, the pet fee here is cheap. We only needed to pay 25 USD for each of our dogs per night.

Queen Vic Guest House

If the idea of staying at a bed and breakfast excites you, you may want to spend your nights with your fido at Queen Vic Guest House. For one, it’s only steps away from the sandy beach. If you want to tan your skin and have your dog running around having the best time of their life, we don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t stay here. In addition to that, the hospitality of the staff is almost unmatched. They weren’t only friendly to us but also to our dogs. However, no cats are allowed on the property.

The good thing about this guest house is that it accepts up to two dogs regardless of their size per room. The fee is also quite reasonable, as you only need to pay 45 USD per pet and night. In the morning, we would kick off our day with the lodging’s complimentary breakfast. The fruits were fresh, and there were tons of breads as well. While they didn’t have any special breakfast for doggies, the staff did recommend some of the nearest dog-friendly eateries.

Breakwater Hotel

Best Beachfront. Those looking for pet-friendly oceanfront hotels Cape Cod has to offer need to take a look at Breakwater Hotel. Set in Provincetown’s East End, perhaps the hotel’s biggest selling point is its waterfront location. Our dogs love to run and play in the sand. Thus, this was the perfect place for them. During our time there, we would swim and fetch in the water. If you want to have some fun and exercise with your four-legged friend, we’re sure you’ll love this beachfront hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by the all-smile staff members. They told us they didn’t have any maximum weight restriction for dogs, but each room could only have two, and we had to pay an extra fee of 40 USD per night for each pet. Cats aren’t allowed on the property, either. Another thing that we want to point out is that every room here has an outdoor seating area, which is perfect for some downtime with your pet. Cape Colony Inn

Another accommodation in Provincetown that we want to show you is the Cape Colony Inn. As one of the best Cape Cod, MA, pet-friendly hotels, it truly has everything pet owners need and possibly more. When we were there, we had two dogs with us, and they were accepted as there were no maximum weight restrictions whatsoever. We had to pay a pet fee of 40 USD for each of them every night, which was actually a great price considering the things they offered to our pets.

When we were at the check-in and registering our pets at the front desk, they were given a leash for each of them. We also received poop bags for when they want to do their business. The good thing about this hotel is that it has a grassy area on-site. Also, we were glad to hear that since our dogs were well-trained and behaved, they were permitted to be left in our room alone. While our pooches were taking a nap, we would explore Provincetown without having to worry about them.

Lamb and Lion Inn

Set in Barnstable is Lamb and Lion Inn, another pet-friendly accommodation that makes you feel at home. We didn’t have high expectations for this place, but it surely impressed us. It welcomes up to two pets of any size on the property, and both cats and dogs are accepted. We brought both of our Chihuahuas along with us, and we were required to pay a fee of 25 USD for each of them per night. If you’re staying for a long time, you don’t have to worry as the maximum limit of the fee is 100 USD.

We were glad that the staff members were kind and friendly to our dogs. They even gave them dog treats, which was so sweet of them. Though the policy stated that we couldn’t leave our pets alone in the room, this wasn’t a problem at all. We stayed in the Queen Room and had lots of fun. At one point, we even took a bath inside the bathtub together with our furry ones. Better yet, you can find a decent-sized relief area on-site. The Provincetown Hotel at Gabriel’s

Best Room. When we first saw The Provincetown Hotel at Gabriel’s, we were super excited as the rooms looked extremely homey, and we were right! We stayed at the Deluxe Queen Room with our pooches, and we had so much fun. We would spend our mornings together on the balcony. We had our coffee, and they had their snacks, which were provided by the hotel. Better yet, our pets were allowed to be left in the room without any supervision. Though we wouldn’t get the housekeeping service, it was okay. We were more than happy to take care of them ourselves.

Additionally, this hotel has a pet relief area in its garden. We would occasionally bring them there to have fun so they won’t be bored. And when it comes to the policy, there are a few things you should note. First, no cats are allowed on-site. Furthermore, this hotel doesn’t mind how much your dog weighs, and you can bring up to two pets with you. However, you’ll have to pay an additional fee of 35 USD per night for each pet.

Cape Cod Veranda

Best With a Dog Park. After waiting for months, we finally managed to stay at Cape Cod Veranda. We were curious about this pet-friendly lodging on Cape Cod after reading its positive reviews, and we were glad we could experience it ourselves. First, let’s talk about our favorite thing about this hotel. It’s none other than its dog park! The fenced dog park is certainly an A+ addition. It allowed my doggies to run and play for as long as they wanted to.

What about the pet policy? You can bring your dog to this hotel regardless of their size. No matter how small or big they are, this hotel welcomes all. However, Veranda doesn’t welcome cats. Also, you’ll have to pay a pet fee of 50 USD per pet for every night you’re here. Based on your experience, you should try out the breakfast! It tasted so good, and we were able to enjoy our breakfast together with our pups. The location of the hotel is also great as it’s close to the beaches.

Surfside Hotel and Suites

Best Overall. While there are so many amazing pet-friendly hotels near Cape Cod, we can’t help but think the Surfside Hotel and Suites in Provincetown is the best. First of all, every single room and suite on the property is pet-friendly. Mindblowing, isn’t it? Gone are the days when pet owners have limited room choices. We brought two of our dogs and had to pay an extra fee of 43 USD per night for each of them. At first, it might sound a lot. However, we can confidently say it’s worth it.

WOW Travel

At check-in, the staff members gave our dogs special treats along with a few belly and chin rubs. We were really thrilled when we found a waste station on the property, which made cleaning up after them a breeze. After unpacking our stuff, we would chillax by the fire pit, and our dogs were allowed to join us there. However, the best part was the private dog-friendly beach! Yes, this hotel boasts a private beach that welcomes dogs, and you can even find a doggie shower there. We’re sure your pup will have a blast.

Of course, the number one place you have to consider if you want to bring your pet to Cape Cod is Provincetown. It’s hands-down the most pet-friendly town on Cape Cod. Here, you’ll find countless pet-friendly accommodations, restaurants, and shops. In fact, half of our picks are in Provincetown! Plus, most of the beaches here are pet-friendly.

Another place you’ll want to check out is Yarmouth. It’s a large town with a variety of pet-friendly accommodations. Some of the beaches here accept dogs, including Seaview Beach and South Yarmouth Beach. It also has a dog park and several pet-friendly restaurants.

Those two are probably the most pet-friendly areas Cape Cod has to offer. However, the rest, like Orleans, Dennis, and Wellfleet, are also pretty friendly to pets and have several pet-friendly hotels to check out.
