The charm of Tuscany lies not only in its Renaissance art and postcard-perfect villages but also in the way it invites you to relax and savor the good life, especially in the summer. And what better way to do that than from the edge of a sun-drenched pool overlooking rolling vineyards? That’s why we’ve rounded up our favorite hotels in Tuscany with pool. From rustic farmhouses transformed into boutique stays to elegant villas with resort-style amenities, each of these hotels left us with unforgettable memories. Some may be a splurge, but for the experience, we’d say they’re worth every penny.

Precise Tale Poggio Alla Sala
11
Our first favorite Tuscany hotel with pool is none other than Precise Tale Poggio Alla Sala. The hills, the villa, the little Silk Road touches—it was familiar yet unexpected. There’s something about the place that instantly puts us at ease, as if the only things on the agenda were good food, long swims, and lazy afternoons under the sun.
The pools were where we spent most of our days. The main one, with its fountain in the middle and palms swaying around it, was straight out of a postcard, and the Marco Polo bar nearby didn’t hurt either. We found a secret adults-only pool tucked behind a stone wall when we wanted peace, while the kids were perfectly happy splashing in the shallower family pool.
Not enough? There’s also a state-of-the-art spa. Treatments mixed east and west so beautifully. We tried the Ayurvedic facial, and it was life-changing. We also tried the Finnish sauna and the starlit steam room. By the end, with mint-scented foot rubs and a glass of wine back at the villa, we were completely undone in the best way.

Borgo San Vincenzo
10
Welcome to Borgo San Vincenzo, an 18th-century gem wrapped in vineyards and framed by medieval hilltop towns, with the Val d’Orcia hills stretching out forever. Montepulciano is only 15 minutes away, but honestly, we were perfectly content just soaking in the views.
Believe it or not, we swam at the swimming pool almost every day during our trip, with coffee and Frette towels waiting for us. The views from the pool were so good it was hard to get up, though the promise of a poolside drink usually did the trick. When we felt like moving, we borrowed the push bikes to pedal lazily from vineyard to vineyard.
The rooms themselves have a playful nod to the local wine culture, named after bottle sizes, from petite to extravagant. We lucked out with the Nebuchadnezzar Suite. Think brick walls, terracotta tiles, and timber beams. But the magic was outside, under our little pergola, with olive trees swaying in the garden.

Colle Alberti Country House

Best Value for Money. Who says you have to empty your bank account to stay at one of the best hotels in Tuscany with a pool? Enter Colle Alberti Country House! What can you expect from this place? Golden fields, endless vineyards, and hazy Chianti hills. Though the estate is huge, the Country House has this cozy, tucked-away vibe that makes things very relaxing.
Now, let’s talk about the pool. Slightly removed from the main estate yet sharing the same pastoral views of vineyards, golden wheat fields, and rolling hills, the pool offers a perfect place to spend a leisurely afternoon by the water. Want to elevate the pool experience? Prepare a glass of wine!
Speaking of which, the real magic happened underground in the 17th-century wine cellars. The history hits you the second you step inside, and then the tasting takes it to another level. Their Occhio Di Pernice, oak-aged for years in the attic, was rich, bold, and unforgettable. We wrapped the evening with a sunset cocktail in the garden before wandering into the lounge bar, where cocktails and another round of estate wine were the only right way to end the day.

Poggio Piglia

Driving through the Tuscan hills, we found Poggio Piglia tucked quietly between Siena and Assisi, just beyond the little town of Macciano. The hotel is like a hidden gem, set apart from the main road and wrapped in its own peaceful grounds. However, that’s exactly what we love the most!
The heart of this hotel is undoubtedly the infinity pool. It’s surrounded by herb-scented gardens. Once we were done swimming, we would join a wine tasting session at the bar beside the restaurant. We loved drinking on the terrace, sometimes curled up on a sofa in the lounge. It all felt so natural.
We wanted to go all out, so we chose the Independent Villa. Nestled among olive trees with its own patch of countryside views, it felt private and romantic, like we had our own little farmhouse. Still, even the Deluxe Rooms have that warm Tuscan character. Whatever corner you land in here, Poggio Piglia makes sure you have something special.

Castello di Casole
7
Castello di Casole, one of the best castle hotels in Tuscany, is another place that dropped our jaws. Hard to believe that in the 1700s, this was its own little village, producing everything from wine to wool. That history is still alive in the land, and we got to experience it firsthand. Truffle-hunting through the woods, stargazing under skies with more stars than we had seen in years, and biking through winding roads to sleepy towns like Casole d’Elsa.
That’s not all! During our stay, we had the chance to join the pizza-making class and rejuvenate in the spa, which is tucked into a former wine cellar. We also joined the eco-printing workshop, gathering leaves and flowers and turning them into art on silk. Our favorite moment, though, was slipping away to the infinity pool.
Food here also deserves praise. We loved the rustic pizzas in Emporio del Castello, each one baked in a centuries-old wood oven and crackling with flavor. Breakfast at Tosca was the opposite: refined but still wonderfully warm, with fresh pastries, fruit, cheeses, and eggs laced with truffle.

Borgo Pignano Tuscany
6
Borgo Pignano Tuscany is set on 350 acres of golden fields and olive groves. This place is just 20 minutes from Volterra, yet it felt like another world. We wandered past stables where horses grazed lazily, peeked into an art gallery tucked into an old stone building, and promised ourselves we would use the yoga room after all the pasta and Chianti (spoiler: we didn’t).
However, the heart-stealer was the pool. We spent hours there, sprawled on sun loungers under parasols, moving only to grab drinks from the pop-up bar or stretch out on the manicured lawn. When we finally peeled ourselves away, the spa lured us in with a hammam and sauna.
And then, the suite. Our Villa Suite with Breathtaking Views more than lived up to its name. Every window framed rolling hills like a painting, and the frescoed bathroom was almost too pretty to use. There was even a polished piano in the corner. Moreover, fresh fruit waited on the table when we arrived, the kind of small detail that makes you feel instantly at home.

Il Borro Relais & Châteaux
5
Best Activities. Il Borro Relais & Châteaux is the perfect choice for travelers looking for peace and relaxation. The medieval village, lovingly restored by the Ferragamo family, is tucked among vineyards and wooded hills. Fun fact: only resort shuttles are allowed, which makes it so blissfully quiet. We really enjoyed walking through cobblestone streets with nothing but birdsong and the rustle of leaves.
Our days here felt longer than usual, but in the best way possible, as there was always something new to do. We were busy horse riding through the vineyards, cycling along trails, attending the cooking class, and tasting wine (as Il Borro is one of the best winery hotels in Tuscany, Italy). And when we just wanted to chill and do nothing, we would take a dip in the refreshing outdoor pool.
For our stay, we decided to go with the Prestige Suite, one of the most popular choices among travelers. It came with a private pool, Ferragamo toiletries, a bathtub for evening soaks, and a terrace where we started every morning with espresso. We felt like royalty, but things never felt too much.
“Il Borro is a great destination in its own right, with so many exciting activities to make your stay as memorable as possible.”

Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco
4
Not a lot can compete with Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, a highly-rated resort favored by avid travelers. The resort sits on a 900-year-old hilltop estate wrapped around the ruins of an ancient castle, with views of the Tuscan hills. Speaking of location, Montalcino is just 20 minutes away, though we think there aren’t many reasons to leave this hotel.
There are tons to do and see here. The first morning we were there, we followed a truffle hunter and his dogs into the woods, later wandered vineyards glowing in the afternoon sun, and even tried our hand at ceramics with a local artisan. When we wanted downtime, the spa became our go-to. It’s small and peaceful, with earthy tones and treatments that use olive oil and herbs from the land. Of course, we also had fun swimming in the panoramic heated pool.
Now, the food. Where do we even begin? Dining at the Michelin-starred Ristorante Campo del Drago was an experience all its own. Each dish told a story of the estate’s gardens and the region around it: eel paired with sweet carrots, millet brightened with walnuts and roots, and a honey parfait made with Montalcino’s own golden nectar.

Badia di Pomaio

Set in Arezzo, Badia di Pomaio has this quiet magic to it. It’s calm and historic, with gardens, woodland trails, and tucked-away corners that make the place even more charming. Even our room carried that blend of rustic and refined, stocked with local snacks and Bulgari bath treats. Talk about luxury!
The pool was where we lost most of our afternoons, though, and for good reason. Infinity-edged and wrapped in greenery, it was our favorite spot to admire the surrounding views. We would swim a little, nap a little, sip a cocktail in the shade, and repeat. Since it’s heated, there was no dramatic “cold shock” moment, just smooth, easy dips.
Bar Serra was another highlight. It’s the most modern part of the abbey with lots of glass and steel, but softened with lantern light and earthy details. The bartenders were as fun as the cocktails, and we kept going back for their pomegranate spritz. We also had the chance to join Mario, the sommelier, in the wine cellar, and his enthusiasm made our experience even better.

Lupaia
2
Best Views. Lupaia might be just what you need for your dream getaway in Tuscany. Perched on its hilltop in the Val d’Orcia, the views were breathtaking. Vineyards and olive groves were rolling out in every direction, with medieval towns perched in the distance. We never got tired of waking up to those views.
Most of our days gravitated toward the pool, and for good reason. The infinity edge looks straight out over the valley, and floating there at sunset was unbeatable. The smaller Jacuzzi tucked beside the pool became our spot for lazy afternoon chats, while shaded loungers gave us front-row seats to the changing sky. And let’s not forget the little bar: one ding of the bell and a coffee negroni or a bright spritz would instantly appear.
Once we were done swimming, we would drift between the wine room, the communal tables, or simply wander the grounds with glasses in hand. The wine, of course, was outstanding. This is Tuscany, after all. However, we surprised ourselves by leaning into their cocktails, too. The vintage negroni and Grappa di Brunello were standouts.

Borgo Santo Pietro
1
Best Luxury. Hidden in the rolling Tuscan hills southwest of Siena, Borgo Santo Pietro is hands-down the best luxury hotel in the Tuscany. We thought it would be a great base for exploring, but thanks to the 300 acres of gardens, farmland, and woods, we quickly realized there was no real reason to leave.
Love to take a dip? The hotel’s gorgeous infinity pool will be your favorite feature! When we weren’t swimming, we were probably exploring the gardens around the shimmering lake or pampering ourselves in the spa center stocked with the estate’s Seed to Skin products. That’s not all! We also often found ourselves debating between a cooking class, a Vespa ride, or simply another hour in a hammock. Other activities that you may want to try including beekeeping, cheese-making demos, and hot air balloon flights. Wow!
Now, the rooms. With only 22 in total, each one is unique. We were lucky enough to be able to stay in one of the Garden Suites, tucked away in leafy corners. The best part of our suite is the private pool! If you’ve been searching for Tuscany suites pool, this is it! On top of that, we had fireplaces both inside and out.

Where to Stay in Tuscany
Tuscany is home to so many amazing regions, but if it’s your first trip to Tuscany, Florence is a must. The birthplace of the Renaissance is packed with world-famous art, stunning architecture, and lively piazzas. Staying here puts you in the heart of Tuscany, with easy train or car access to nearby towns like Pisa, Lucca, and Siena. It’s perfect if you want a mix of history, culture, and day trips.
Between Florence and Siena lies Chianti, Tuscany’s most iconic wine region. Think rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and medieval castles turned into boutique hotels. This is where you go if you dream of sipping Chianti Classico while watching the sunset over the countryside. It’s quieter than the big cities but still central enough for exploring.
Then, there’s Val d’Orcia. This UNESCO World Heritage valley in southern Tuscany is the postcard version of Italy: golden fields, winding cypress-lined roads, and hilltop towns that look frozen in time. Montepulciano and Montalcino are famous for their wines, while Pienza is beloved for its Renaissance charm and pecorino cheese. It’s ideal for couples, photographers, or anyone seeking a slower, dreamy Tuscan experience.
Is it better to stay in a villa or a hotel in Tuscany?
Staying in a villa in Tuscany offers more privacy, space, and an authentic countryside experience, perfect if you want to cook local food and enjoy scenic views at your own pace. A hotel, on the other hand, provides convenience, amenities, and service, making it easier if you prefer comfort and less responsibility during your stay.
What month is best for Tuscany?
The best months to visit Tuscany are May, June, September, and early October, when the weather is warm but not too hot and the countryside is at its most beautiful.
How many days is ideal for Tuscany?
A stay of 7–10 days is ideal for Tuscany, giving you enough time to explore Florence, Siena, Pisa, and the Chianti wine region at a relaxed pace. If you have less time, even 4–5 days can provide a wonderful snapshot focused on Florence and nearby towns.
