It sits right on the harbor, so we were only steps away from Havensight Mall, plenty of restaurants, and the local nightlife. Being able to walk across the street for shopping and a quick bite made our daily trip much simpler than we expected for a Caribbean trip.
Getting around the rest of the island from the hotel was just as easy. It’s only about a 10-minute drive to the main attractions in Charlotte Amalie and 2 miles (3.21 km) from the airport. We really appreciated the free on-site parking, too, which isn’t always a guarantee in this area. If you aren’t renting a car, the hotel does offer an airport shuttle, though there’s an extra fee for that service.

While Hampton by Hilton St Thomas has tons of accommodation options, we thought the King Studio Suite suited our needs best, and we can proudly say it was worth every penny. The room was modern and still had that new hotel smell! It also featured a king-sized bed, a sofa bed for extra seating, and a large desk with reliable Wi-Fi that handled everything we needed. We specifically chose a harbor view room, and we could watch the ships come in from our window.
Moreover, the room amenities were practical and well-placed. There was a wet bar area with a mini-fridge and a coffeemaker, which we used every morning. We also made good use of the free coffee and tea available in the lobby throughout the day.

Aside from that, there’s also an outdoor swimming pool for a quick dip, and we were also glad there was a poolside bar.

With the gym, the pool, and the general cleanliness of the common areas, the amenities definitely made our stay feel like a better value compared to older properties on St Thomas.

The service we received from the staff at Hampton by Hilton St Thomas was excellent, too. The staff was consistently friendly and happy to offer local advice on where to go. We have to give a huge shout-out to the front desk staff, though. She was incredibly patient and kept a great attitude while handling some complicated reservation issues for us. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
The team also helped us arrange a taxi for our airport pick-up, which took the stress out of our departure. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and accommodating, which goes a long way in making a hotel stay feel welcoming.
