The London Pride Parade Route
Broadly speaking, the route for the gay Pride parade in London has hardly changed over the years, sticking to some of the most popular areas of Central London. Even though the route hasn’t been announced yet, it always begins somewhere near the picturesque and ever-busy Hyde Park Corner around 12 pm. It then runs down Piccadilly Circus before turning left and right on Denman and Great Windmill Streets. Then, it makes its way down Haymarket and along Cockspur Street right onto Trafalgar Square, turning the roundabout and finally coming to an end Whitehall Place around 6 pm.
These neighborhoods along the entire parade route obviously offer the best views of the parade. However, if you want to be completely comfortable, there’s limited seating at the Grandstand. This year’s parade has a Grandstand in Piccadilly (197 Piccadilly, London, W1J 9LL), which will open its gates at 11 am. You can buy the official tickets to the Grandstand either on the official London Pride page or on Outsavvy here.
Get more details about the Pride Parade route every year on the official page.
How To Get Here?
Travel around and into Central London on the day of the parade will be extremely busy, so you need to be extra cautious and plan ahead as to where to avoid any possible delays. Then, hop onto the tube or walk to the main areas of the event, such as Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, or Hyde Park Corner. Some major tube stations around the Pride parade route include Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, Hyde Park Corner, Green Park, Leicester Square, and Westminster.

What To Do During London Pride?
One of the main draws at London Pride are the stages at different places along the parade route. These include the main Trafalgar Square Stage, the Leicester Square Stage for LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary individuals, the Golden Square Stage, the Soho Square Stage, the Dean Street Stage, and the Family Area. The best bit? All stages and their incredible events are absolutely free!

Trafalgar Square – Main Stage
Sitting right in the heart of historic central London, the iconic Trafalgar Square Stage is the main stage of the Pride in London festival and is set to be more vibrant than ever in 2025. This epicenter of London’s Pride celebrations is expected to draw a crowd of more than 10,000 visitors this year. In 2024, the headliner was four-times-Grammy-nominated pop sensation Bebe Rexha. She joined a gamut of other famed LGBTQ+ icons, allies, and diverse voices such as drag legends like Janice Robinson and Drag Syndrome, and even the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Ginger Johnson.
Other Stages
- Leicester Square – LGBTQIA+ Women’s/Non-Binary Stage: This intimate stage is a haven for LGBTQIA+ non-binary individuals and women, and sees a gamut of specially-curated and awe-inspiring performances. In 2024, eminent personalities like Nancy Miranda Kelley and Yasmin Benoit spoke here, with performances from The Big Queer Poetry Show, R&B artist Faye Meana, and Australian pop band Blusher.
- Golden Square – A.k.a. the World Stage, this place sees a diverse variety of performers, with the 2024 lineup featuring Cocoa Butter Club, Donnie Sunshine, and even a speaker in the form of the first openly-gay Jamaican athlete and swimmer Michael Gunning.
- Dean Street – Drag? Cabaret? Yes, yes, and yes! 2024 saw the Queer Asian Takeover, Shar Cooterie, and Diva Delights takeover this stage.
- Soho Square – The trans-led Soho Square, where the speaker was the (in)famous porn star Aiden Shaw, was also where the UK Black Pride took place.
- Family Area – LGBTQ+ families, with or without kids, have a dedicated and delightful area at Victoria Embankment Gardens. You and your kiddos can enjoy a variety of captivating performances and engaging activities here. Think art, laughs, colors, and fun!
London Trans+ Pride
Aside from the main Pride parade, the city’s also home to the world’s largest Trans+ Pride demonstration; this year, it’s happening on 26th July. Welcome to London Trans+ Pride, where central London turns blue and pink in its eighth year celebrations. This year is all the more important as an April 16th, 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling threatens the rights of the trans people in the country. So, whether you’re part of the community or an ally, do show up! While route details aren’t out yet, this parade usually marches through central London along the same areas as the main parade.
UK Black Pride
The world’s largest celebration for LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American and Middle Eastern, UK Black Pride celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and around 20,000 attendees are expected to descend on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for another big party and protest. The festivities will include performers, community stall-holders, food and drink, and special workshops. The theme for this year has yet to be announced at the time of writing, but organisers are promising the “biggest and boldest” edition of UK Black Pride yet.

Think live music performances, panel discussions, and art in partnership with Sounds Queer, Club Stamina, and Queer Britain – besides its Pride Party, of course. What makes it all the better is that the hotel is the ultimate in fabulous luxury, right from their ‘Whatever/Whenever’ guest relations services to their amenities: the AWAY Spa, drag-themed afternoon teas, and the mind-boggling Perception Bar. St. Pancras London, Autograph Collection
Staying near King’s Cross makes great sense if you’re taking trains or the Eurostar services to the rest of the country after Pride celebrations. Sitting majestically right next to King’s Cross/St. Pancras is St. Pancras London, Autograph Collection. It’s also a stone’s throw from Queer Britain, the famed LGBTQ+ museum. Within its original, iconic red brick facade sits a modern five-star, complete with a sauna and a spa, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a terrace, and as many as four restaurants and bars. The digs are all about quiet comfort and luxury, sleek mod-cons, and spectacular views of King’s Cross.

The Dilly
The proudly LGBTQ-friendly Dilly was the official hotel partner for London Pride 2022, and continues to be at the center of pride celebrations in the city. In fact, it sits in the heart of Piccadilly, right on the route of the Pride parade. So, it’s the perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the cleberations right from the comfort of your room. Today, this 1908-built hotel melds five-star heritage with contemporary cool and has a spa, a sizable pool, and even a couple of squash courts. The digs are equally cool, with London-themed prints and slick mod-cons, with the street-side ones having the best views. The standout, though is the eye-catching Terrace bar and restaurant, which is one of the best places to catch the Pride parade from.

The Z Hotel Soho
If you’re looking for something more affordable but in central London, then we cannot recommend the Z Hotel SoHo enough. Not only is it one of the top gay-friendly hotels in London, but also the rooms were compact, comfy, and had everything we needed for a value-for-money stay during Pride celebrations in the city. Since it’s a low-key place, the amenities are minimal, but phenomenal: think wine and cheese sessions everyday and continental breakfast at Z cafe with bacon rolls, fresh fruit salad, cereals, pastries, and fresh croissants, with hot savory dishes, sandwiches, and salads on offer throughout the day. Other Entertainment During London Pride
Do you feel that London Pride is sufficiently well-rounded? Well, there’s more to it! There will be tons of pop-up concerts and film screenings with LGBTQ+ themes, ranging from classic gay comedies to LGBTQ+ rights history documentaries.
- Theater – London’s sparkling theater scene is even more alive during Pride, as they showcase plays and performances relevant to the queer community around the world. This year, catch the complex but warm play ‘The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs’ and ‘Section 28,’ a verbatim musical about a heinous 1980s legislation.
- Museums – What can you possibly do at museums during Pride? A lot, apparently. The British Museum has a 70-minute tour exploring the surprising queer histories behind some of the artefacts and artwork in its vast collection, like the Warren Cup and Gilgamesh Tablet. Don’t miss the evening session on July 4th at the Natural History Museum, where the museum’s scientists will clue you in on the surprisingly queer side of the animal kingdom.
Besides this, you can also watch a film at Arzner, London’s only LGBTQ+ cinema, cafe, and cocktail bar, see a show at the Queer Comedy Club (UK’s first), or grab a book by LGBTQ+ authors at the Aesop Queer Library. Clearly, the list goes on and on.
Tips for an unforgettable experience
- Weather and clothing – London’s weather is extremely changeable and fickle, and it can rain anytime. So, the best thing to do would be to carry a travel umbrella or a rain jacket. Additionally, don’t forget sunglasses and travel-size sunscreens if the weather turns out to be sunny. And since it’s London Pride after all, you could even bring an SPF sun hat. Additionally, wear comfortable footwear.
- Food, beverages, and water – F&B options are available near all the stage areas. Also, staying hydrated is crucial, so bring a refillable water bottle and fill them at the free water stations all around the event areas.
- Security and bag policy – Be prepared for bag searches at entrance points to all main event areas, with larger bags being refused entry entirely. Don’t carry weapons, glass containers, and alcohol (except in the designated licensed areas).
Broadly speaking, dress comfortably, travel light, avoid bringing valuables, and keep your belongings secure and close to yourself.
Can I simply turn up to London Pride?
Of course! While groups, businesses, and charities need to apply, register, and organize in advance, the Pride parade and events are open and inclusive. They welcome anyone and everyone, notwithstanding their background, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
What time does the London Pride parade start?
While the route for the 2025 parade hasn’t been officially announced, the parade has started at Hyde Park Corner (near Marble Arch) around noon for many years now.
What do I wear to London Pride?
We mean this in a literal manner – anything. Pride is all about being creative, colorful, bold, and expressive, so you could wear rainbow-colored clothing or drape a rainbow flag around your clothes. You could even show your support with small details such as rainbow nail polish, ribbons, socks, pins, and more.
