We start this list with Aqua Hotel, a highly-rated hotel less than a mile from the Sea Garden and the beach. Though the location was fantastic, we also enjoyed spending time there. A huge plus for us was the free access to the indoor pool and gym at the sports center.

What’s more, there’s a bus stop right in front of the building that goes straight to the airport and the train station, so we didn’t have to worry about expensive transfers. We usually headed down for the buffet breakfast between 7 and 10 AM to fuel up for the day, and we also grabbed a few meals at Bistro Aqua on-site, which had a good variety of food and drinks.

If you’re looking for extra relaxation, they have three saunas and a massage center available for an added fee. We also spotted three conference rooms of different sizes, fitting anywhere from 40 to 140 people. They can even set up tech like projectors and sound systems if you request it in advance.

Utopia Forest

Best Concept. While there are plenty of hotels in Burgas Bulgaria, no one is doing it like Utopia Forest. This hotel balances eco-consciousness with total relaxation really well. It blends into its natural surroundings really well. The best part? The beach is just a breezy five-minute stroll away, so we could easily flip-flop between the forest shade and the sand whenever we wanted to.

Our home base was a ground-floor Double Room, and honestly, we struggled to leave the bed. The pillows were that perfect level of cloud-like comfort. On top of that, we also had our own terrace with a mini garden.

Our experience was made even better by the staff, who were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We spent our evenings enjoying some seriously delicious meals at the well-situated restaurant and thawing out in the toasty, clean spa. Best of all, they’ve also just added a brand-new game room, so you can spend hours playing arcade machines.

Best Budget. Finding a spot that’s both central and affordable can be a gamble, but we struck gold with O’clock Bed & Spa. The location is incredibly convenient and easy to find. What really blew us away, though, was the efficiency of the check-in process. Even though we didn’t pull the trigger on our reservation until 11:30 PM, the staff responded instantly. They sent over the entry codes right away, and the keypad system was totally seamless.

The interior of this hotel was spotless and felt very well-maintained. We loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. For quick fixes, there’s a vending machine with snacks and drinks, both alcoholic and soft drinks, and even ATMs on-site for food runs.

We stayed in the Family Room, and it was more comfortable than we thought. Of course, don’t expect 5-star beds. However, for the price, we were totally pleased with what we were provided with. While the spa was still under construction during our stay, the place already felt like a great find. Once the renovations are finished, it’s going to be an even better spot for a relaxing getaway.

Finding a spot that balances convenience with comfort can be tricky, but the Avenue Hotel made it easy for us. Located right on the main road near the Burgas Plaza Mall, it was a breeze to find, and having free parking on-site was a huge relief. We were only about a 10-minute drive from the city center, the beach, and the airport! Best of all, there was no downtown traffic.

Though simple, our Double Room was plenty comfortable and equipped with everything we actually needed. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the private bathroom had everything you could think of. Wi-Fi? Fast and free!

The extras really added value to our stay, especially the free access to the fitness area and the traditional Bulgarian dishes at the restaurant. Besides that, we also appreciated the flexibility of room service and the option to grab a packed lunch for our day trips.

Hotel Luxor

We didn’t expect ourselves to love Hotel Luxor that much. This stunning hotel has a great family-friendly atmosphere that made us feel welcome right away, serving as a comfortable home base. The staff were helpful, and the overall environment really helped us relax between our daily outings.

The rooms here are practical and well-equipped with air conditioning, a minibar, and a fridge. We also appreciated the free Wi-Fi, which kept us connected without any issues. When we weren’t out, we spent time at the on-site restaurant or grabbed a drink at the lobby bar.

The location is hard to beat, as we were just a few minutes’ walk from major landmarks like the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. With a 24-hour front desk, room service, and nearby parking, we never had to worry about anything.

Primoretz Grand Hotel & Spa

The Primoretz Grand Hotel & Spa is a great all-rounder that has everything. First of all, it’s perfectly located right by the Sea Garden and the beach, and it’s a quick walk to both the city center and the port’s restaurants. While the hotel has been around since 1959, it still feels incredibly classy and well-maintained.

We opted for the sea-view room because it’s spacious and comes with a balcony that’s perfect for a glass of wine at night. Furthermore, the staff was mostly very helpful, especially the incredibly friendly man who handled the luggage and always greeted us with a smile. We also had a great experience at Salini, the on-site restaurant. Logistics were easy, too. Parking was never an issue for us since the hotel has both an outdoor lot and a garage.

The spa and pools are a highlight of the stay, and we find the loungers on the beach to be exceptionally comfortable. To get the most out of the pool area, we recommend heading down a little earlier in the morning to secure a prime spot, as the area is quite popular with other guests.

Boutique Guest House “Ruvan”

Best for Extended Stays. If you prefer to stay in a cozy inn, you’ll love Boutique Guest House “Ruvan”. Since it’s in the heart of Burgas, we could easily walk to Kilometre Zero and the Opera House. Plus, the fact that Burgas Central Beach was only 300 meters away was a huge plus for us. Getting around the city and back to the airport was also easy since we were near the Bulair bus station.

For our stay, we opted for the apartment, which had everything and more, including reliable climate control and a well-equipped kitchen. With a separate living room, ample space, and three beds in total, we think it’s a great choice for travelers who plan to spend quite some time in Burgas. We particularly enjoyed having our own balcony to relax on.

While there’s no on-site restaurant, you don’t have to worry as there are plenty of great local dining options just a quick walk away. We had a fantastic Mediterranean meal at NORMA Restaurant & Steak House, which is just a few minutes away on foot. For a 3-star stay that puts you right in the middle of the action, complete with an on-site barber shop, this place was a great find for us.

Marina Burgas Hotel

The Marina Burgas Hotel is another amazing addition to this list. It’s a short walk from the south bus station, so we didn’t need to worry about taxis when we arrived. We were able to get everywhere on foot, from the city center and the Sea Garden to Burgas Beach. Plus, the boat over to St. Anastasia Island leaves from right nearby, which made our day trip a breeze.

The rooms were surprisingly spacious and kept very clean, featuring a cool vintage style that we really liked. We stayed in a Double Room with a view of the city, and we had plenty of room to move around. If you’re coming with kids or a larger group, we would definitely recommend booking the Two-Bedroom Apartment instead to get that extra space.

One of our favorite parts of the stay was the breakfast. The food was a real treat, but the coffee was on a whole different level. Make sure to try it out! The restaurant also overlooks the port, so we had a nice view of the water while we ate.

Hogo Fogo

Finding the perfect hotels in Burgas Bulgaria was a breeze with Hogo Fogo. The location alone is one of its biggest selling points, sitting just a short walk from both the city center and the bus and train stations. The building itself is incredibly charming and full of historic character, while the interior is beautifully decorated and kept in immaculate, super-clean condition.

We booked the Deluxe King Studio, and it was exactly what we imagined. We had a sparkling private bathroom with free toiletries and a massive bathtub. There was a dining area, a washing machine, and a little chandelier above our bed, too.

The management was fantastic and stayed in constant communication with us throughout our stay. However, what really blew us away was their honesty and helpfulness. After checking out, we realized we had left a valuable item, but we were already miles away. The owner went out of their way to coordinate a fast courier, ensuring it was delivered safely to our new place the very next day. We are so grateful for that level of care; it truly turned our trip around.

Hotel Bulgaria

Best Value for Money. Hotel Bulgaria is many people’s go-to spot in Burgas. This 4-star hotel manages to feel high-end but still very welcoming and doesn’t break the wallet. We booked the Standard King Room, which was such a value for money. It was clean and well-equipped. On top of that, the service was easily some of the best we’ve experienced.

One of the biggest wins for us was the location. It’s situated right in the middle of everything, only a tiny walk from the city center. We were able to hit up local landmarks like The Clock or go to the Sea Garden without needing to call an Uber. Having all the main attractions right on our doorstep made it so much easier.

The facilities are also pretty extensive, which was a nice bonus. We made good use of the pool and the sauna, and it was great having a modern gym and a spa right there. They have all the basics covered, too, like fast Wi-Fi and air conditioning, plus a 24-hour front desk and an airport shuttle that took the stress out of our commute.

Hotel Residence Promenade

Best Location. If you want the best seat in all of Burgas, we highly recommend staying at Hotel Residence Promenade. It’s right in the central Burgas, and we were only steps away from the Sea Garden and many eateries. Since there are no buildings between the hotel and the water, the sea views are fantastic. Not to mention, parking was also easy, and the staff was very attentive. They even provided us with a complimentary mini-bar stocked with wine and Italian coffee.

The hotel’s interior is beautiful, featuring hardwood floors, marble, and plenty of artwork. We noticed the building is built for quiet, using heavy doors and glass dividers in the stairwells to block out noise from other guests. That said, our room was quite spacious, with a separate living area and a large king-sized bed. We especially liked the practical touches, like the lighted magnifying mirror in the spotless bathroom.

For meals, the attached restaurant, Tony GiGi, served a solid buffet breakfast. Since we had d opted for a package that included breakfast, we started every day with their buffet. They also have a room service menu if you prefer to eat in.

We have three recommendations in mind. The first one is the Burgas city center. It’s the most convenient base for most travelers. It’s defined by its two main pedestrian streets, Aleksandrovska and Bogoridi, which are lined with 19th-century architecture, cafes, and local shops. Staying here puts you within walking distance of the central train and bus stations, the Archaeological Museum, and the famous Clock Tower.

Located just north of the city center, Lazur is the preferred neighborhood for those who want the best of both worlds: proximity to the coast and a modern residential feel. It borders the Sea Garden, a massive 150-acre park that separates the city from the Black Sea. In fact, visiting this coastal park is one of the top things to do in Burgas. By staying in Lazur, you have immediate access to the park’s walking paths, the Summer Theatre, and the North Beach, which tends to be slightly less crowded than the Central Beach.

We also recommend Sarafovo, often called the “Beverly Hills” of Burgas. Located north of the city center and very close to the airport, it has evolved from a small fishing village into a popular seaside suburb. It offers a much more laid-back, “resort” atmosphere compared to the urban center.
